    25th Street Automotive

This is the second time my sister's Toyota had been serviced by 25th Street Automotive. This time it need all hoses changed and a rack and pinion job. Bill called to give us his recommendation for services needed (the items I mentioned). He also recommended the usual services (oil change, fluids, etc.) This work took about a day to complete, which was not a problem for us. Bill had staffing issues (medical emergencies in his mechanics' families), so I was amazed that he could still make the repairs on the car and deliver it to us on time. He also gave us a quote on the cost (expensive but necessary and worth it), and the actual price we paid was lower. 25th Street Automotive is a great shop: Excellent service professionally delivered. It's a bit out of the way for us to go for repairs, but it's worth it for major work. I highly recommend this business.

    Precision Tune Auto Care
Precision tune auto care Asheville NC is a rip off. I took my car in because the alternator went out. I told them the alternator needed to be replaced and wanted an estimate and told them not to fix anything without notifying me. They called and said it was going to be nearly $500.00 so I told them I'd pick my car up since $500 to replace an alternator is outrageous. When I went to pick up my car they charged me $40.00 for and quot;diagnostics testand quot; and wouldn't give me my keys until I paid. I told them all I wanted was an estimate and told them the alternator was bad when I brought it in so why do I have to pay $40.00 for them to tell me my alternator was bad? They told me it was and quot;standard procedureand quot;. The main wire was broken off of the alternator and was clearly visible so I don't think a $40 diagnostic test was necessary nor was it authorized but if charging for a diagnostic test when they already know the problem and it's visibly obvious is standard procedure I guess they won't mind me advertising that for them. Avoid this rip off mechanic shop like the plague that it is. I hope it was worth $40.00 to lose all of the business they will lose for years from my reviews.

    Dave's Discount Tire
But I mentioned that the electric window motors in my car were not working and that the dealer wanted a fortune to fix the problem. Dave suggested that he look at it and that he might be able to fix the problem inexpensively. He had the car for over a week when I finally said, "enough". One of the motors was in the trunk, the electric car seats no longer worked, and the window control panel on the drivers door was broken.

    Paul's Foreign Automotive
This brake visit was fairly routine and normal. Its an earlier visit that I wanted to describe --- in fact, it was my very first service there. I believe it was about six years ago, in 2007.
I was passing nearby on Hwy 64, on my way to Atlanta, when the engine in my 93 Toyota truck started making an unusual heavy straining sound. Concerned that I wouldnt make it to Atlanta, I decided to have it checked out before I went any further. Thats when I noticed Paul's Automotive sign on the highway.
I pulled into the shop area, described my problem, and Paul took it for a test drive. When he came back, I was greatly relieved when he said the only problem was my overdrive button wasnt engaged (or maybe it was the other way around, Im not sure even to this day).
Now, he could have told me that I needed some kind of transmission work. After all, it had something like 250,000 miles on it. I wouldve believed him, and he would've been a richer man that day. But the fact that he was that honest about it, with a fairly ignorant driver (and a stranger) like me, tells me that I have found a jewel.
When I find a car mechanic who's honest and straightforward, I keep coming back. And I must say that in subsequent visits, he does not recommend any repairs unless I really need them --- right then, not six months down the road. Paul knows I dont have a tremendous amount of money to put into my truck, and he takes that into consideration. I really appreciate that kind of service.

    Larry's Auto Shop
I got tired of the bumpy feeling to the brakes and they had a grabbing feeling for the last year. It was just a routine thing to round them out on 2 places and it completely corrected the problem. We are new here and were referred to this shop by someone who fixed our tires. We will return because we want to support locals and find a trusty mechanic near us in Brevard Only problem is the telephone takes a while to be answered and the message service was not connected for a call back. They seemed very busy.

    Feldmann Nissan
The car we bought actually had a small problem that caused the engine to whine loudly between 0-30 mph. I had noticed it on the test drive but noticed it more after purchase, and when it didn't go away after a week or so, I took the car back for service. The service people traded out the offending part, giving me a free rental car for the day, doing the service under warranty (of course) and washing my car after it was worked on. Everyone in the dealership was friendly and highly competent at the part of their jobs we witnessed. We will certainly work with Feldmann again.

    West End Auto Clinic
I've taken cars there for inspections with pretty good luck. They were friendly. They did an inspection, and they were friendly about it. They seemed honest. They were convenient to me, but that didn't matter the most. They were quick with the service.

I think they are great. They have never been dishonest or sneaky about the prices for the services rendered. They do what they say they are going to do. They are very clear and to the point. I understand the warranties. I have never had any issues with a vehicle they have worked on.
