5 Tips to Get the Best Tree Service

Tree Service reviews in Boone

    Green Valley Arborist
Very good - he hauled a large, mostly dead tree out of our backyard (not an easy task since our fence has a relatively small opening and trimmed another large tree in our front yard. Only minor complaint is that we lost a little grass in the back yard where his machine dug into the ground going up the hill, but overall very pleased with price and service. I was also very pleased with his responsiveness - I emailed him on a Saturday afternoon and he came out the next day for an estimate. Got the job done quickly once we received approval from the town.

This is an unethical company and the will take advantage of you. Recent job ran over three times the initial estimate with no communication as the bill grew. No written communication provided for any of the growing costs until the final invoice. Job is still unfinished and the work is well below average. There are many other reputable companies in Boone to give your business to, please don't make the same mistake we did.

    Ryan Waterman
He has been very good. We had a storm that has drug trees on to peoples houses and cars, its hard to get a hold of them. But he is very good. His prices in the beginning were very fair for the area, they are to be expected now that he has increased them. He is trustworthy, respectful and goes the extra mile here. He has agreed to take on some work that someone else did not complete. He manages to make time for me when I do not have a tree on myself and others do. He has become a real friend to me. He listened to my problems and sat there and told me what to do. He intends to undo 2 other companies bad work and I do believe he will do that. His pricing is a little on the high side.

    Ray's Tree Service
This is the second time we've  used Ray's Tree Service and the second time around was just as good as the first!
We now have a clear view of Grandfather Mountain and the valley below us.

    Ray's Tree Service
Ray?s Tree Service (RTS) offered highly competitive pricing.
In fact, two of the A rated firms never bothered to provide a quote after
seeing the scope of work and at least two A rated firms never bothered to
return my call, which speaks volumes about RTS!
RTS is on my calendar in May or June to enhance our view of Grandfather
Mountain by topping out numerous trees in our yard and our neighbor?s yard.
RTS runs like a finely tuned engine so hire them, grab a
chair and watch how it?s supposed to be done!
Oh, I almost forgot one very important thing, before
ascending into the canopy to with harness and chain saw, Brandon Ray kneels
with his team in prayer. It is, after all, very dangerous work.

On 10/16/2015 ArborCare (Chad Michael) provided me with an estimate to remove a tall pine and prune limbs off the other pines that I had marked on my property. I in turn paid a deposit for the work to begin. That day Chad and I specifically walked the property in which he described a machine that would come and pick up all the fallen limbs or a chipper that would mulch the limbs back onto the property. He even asked me if he could drive the chipper down the path. Not once did he mention that cleanup wasn't part of his pruning estimate, nor do his estimates state as such. In fact, his description of the limb picker upper machine or wood chipper was very misleading. It wasn?t until after he cut all the trees that he then informed me that cleanup was extra by sending me an invoice out of the blue for $3,365.00 in debris removal costs. ArborCare and Chad Michael have business tactics that are very unethical and deceitful.
I've owned many homes/properties and have used many different companies to prune trees and shrubs. Not a single one of them pulled the bait n' switch ArborCare does by attempting to charge double for clean up. When you prune a tree you clean it up, guess ArborCare never got that memo. Instead the deceitfully con you into starting a project then attempt to charge you an absurd amount for clean up knowing you can't possibly haul away large debris from your own yard.  ArborCares way of doing things is unethical and would be analogous to a painter trying to charge a homeowner for removing tape, washing out brushes, and picking up drop clothes. It?s ludicrous.
DO NOT hire these guys. They are the most deceitful and unethical business I have ever had to work with.

    Million Landscaping
First off, very professional and good on the communication side.  I'm amazed at how many professional companies here in/around Boone work only when they want, and tend to not communicate well.  Million Landscaping kept me in the loop throughout the entire process without me having to constantly track them down.  That is refreshing.

    Watermark Landscape
Professional Arborist climbed my tree 50ft off the ground worked from 10AM - 6PM. Removed rhododendrons literally covering my stream for free. Of all the people that have worked at my house these were the nicest. The came back the next morning to remove 1 ton of stumps created by the tree removal. For $80 he weedwacked 2 acres of land. I had paid a week before $100 to get half of that weedwacked.

    Hicks Tree Service
I called Mr. Hicks and asked if he could come out and look at a tree and some limbs that needed to be cut.  He came out that afternoon and gave me an estimate.  I told him that he could come back any time to do the work; I did not need to be home.  About one week later, I came home from work and everything was done.  I thought his price was very fair and he is easy to work with and does a nice job.
We did not have them clean up and carry away the tree or limbs they cut: the clean up would add significantly to the cost of the job.

    Hunter'S Tree Service
I called Hunter's because my job was relatively small and they advertise that they perform small jobs. Mr. Hunter was pleasant, professional, and on time. He was careful not to damage my lawn with his equipment, and he ground all five stumps down below grade level. My experience with Hunter's was a very good one and I would recommend them to anyone who needs tree services.
