"The entire experience was great. I used the message tool on Angie's List to ask whether this company could do the job. I had already contacted a couple of" other companies that could not do the job, so I was thrilled when
called me and said his company could.
was on vacation at the time, but was checking and responding to his messages. I think this says a lot about his dedication and professionalism. I made an appointment for him to come to my house on Friday, August 15 to review what needed to be done and to give me an estimate. I was impressed with
's friendly professionalism and I liked the estimate, so I signed a contract on the spot.
told me the work could be done the following weekend or early the week after. Sure enough, a gentleman named Art called me on August 24 to let me know that he could be at my house at 8 o'clock the following morning to do the work. The next morning he called me to let me know that he was on his way, but needed to make a stop to pick up some supplies. That was fine with me. Art and an assistant managed to complete the project before lunch and I must say they did an excellent job. Before they left, they thoroughly cleaned up after themselves. I'm very pleased with how things went and I highly recommend this company.

-Carole C.

"Our sales rep,
, was great to work with. The only reason we chose not to work with this company is that they were 46% higher in price than" our next closest bid.
was unable to justify this significant difference in price. I would give
another shot when we look at future work but they will need to much more competitive.

How Much Does Siding Cost to Replace?

Vinyl, aluminum, wood and fiber cement siding all have their advantages and vary in price.

Unless they are made of brick or stone, most homes are protected by some form of exterior siding. Traditionally made of wood, siding now comes in several materials including aluminum and vinyl. Each has its strengths and weaknesses to consider.

One of the first questions I receive from homeowners looking to install siding on their homes is, “What is the best siding product?” The answer depends.

Returning home from the store with food for your big weekend cookout, you notice the siding on your house dangling loose from the recent thunderstorm.

Siding doesn't have to be boring. There are now more ways than ever to spice up your home's exterior.

Call and ask your contractors these questions.  Don't be afraid to ask questions.  It is your money and home.  I would ask for references and take a look at samples of their work (especially the low bidder).  Make sure all are licensed and carry the required insurance.  You don't want to get a bad stucco job, so do your homework first before selecting a contractor; which may not be one of these.  Check with your local building department and local building exchange for more references on these and other contractors.  Good luck.

Alside is the far superior siding. Another option with the Alside is the Center Lock panel. It locks in the center of the panel, eliminating wind blow-offs,has a 3/4 inch profile, and carries the same warranty as the Charter Oak

Both choices have plusses and minuses.

I am partial to vinyl siding myself if it is put on by a contractor that pays attention to details in sealing against water intrusion. The better grades of vinyl stand up to the weater very well. The siding on my own home is over 15 years old and shows no signs of fading or any changes due to sun exposure and have had no problems with water entry around windows or doors. It does not dent like the old aluminum siding did or break if hit by a ball or a rock thrown by a lawnmower. As long as you save a few extra panels even if a rock was to be broken by something like a rock it is easier to repair. I will add that the earlier vinyl sidings did tend to fade but I have seen homes I sided after putting additions on that were done 20+ years ago and they look fine. Those closer to the 30 year mark not as good on the fading though. I gennerally never use the cheaper panels though so I can not vouch for them but I think that as long as it is one of the better manufaturers it seems to be just panel thickness. Just a personal opinion but if you are looking for added insulation I would use one of the 4X8 or 2X8 panels rather than the insulated siding. I can not see how insulation on the back of each panel with all the joints can do much more than stiffen the panels and I would think it would hamper the movement of the panels with changes in temperature.

As for Hardi or any of the other fibre cement sidings it is way more costly and relys on caulk or tar paper strips between the panels to seal out water. It is not very forgiving on install mistakes and must be done perfectly to get the full Hardi warranty. I was just involved with a job where the contractor did not put a few pieces of flashing in properly and his guys lapped a corner board incorrectly and the Hardi lifetime warranty was void. Another thing I did not like is that it is put in with a blind nailing method and even though this house was done to specs in this area of the install the bottom of the siding was not tight to the lower courses in many spots. They did install it to the maximum exposure and I believe if they had gone to a larger panel or even lessened the exposure by 1/2" it probably would have been fine. The other thing I saw was the paint seems to be prone to scratching durring install and to me the house looked like it needed a paint job even though siding was new. I do think that if painted after install a paint job would last many years as the product is very stable and does not expand and contract much. The one big plus I see is it tend to HELP in and area prone to fires such as some ares out West.  I put the word help in capitals because it will not fireproof the home but may stop ignition from sparks and moderate heat exposure.

"Normal" construction practice dictates that the contractor remove all tools, unused materials (that you did not pay for) and scrap, and leave the worksite in a "broom clean" condition - this would include disposing (as he wishes) of removed saleable scrap - be it siding, old HVAC equipment, metal piping, etc.

Generally, unless you are talking copper sheet roofing or decorative copper ceiling panels or such, or in some cases very old in-demand recyclable timber or full-thickness hardwood flooring, the value of the metals will only marginally pay for his labor to load it and haul it to the metal recycler - especially with painted materials, which typically go for about half or less the going "clean metal" rate.
Look at the other side - how much hassle and cost will it take YOU to cut or bend the sheets into transportable lengths (since probably 10-12 foot pieces for full lengths) and haul them to a metal recycler - who may only be open during your normal work hours so you have to take time off, and maybe borrow or rent a pickup or trailer to haul it too ? All for a couple hundred $ in scrap value. Also - in some areas - scrap dealears are now limited by law to accepting construction scrap only from licensed contractors, because of the increased problem with people stripping houses and stealing from construction sites, so you as an individual might not even be able to sell it.

Bladenboro Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
returned my call for an estimate promptly and a work crew was at my house, as scheduled, less than a week after agreeing to E TN Siding for the job. The crew were all polite, willing to explain work, always prompt and did a great job cleaning up. The roof looks great.

In mid-May, I had a salesperson come to my home to get a quote on the repair of siding around different parts of my home, as well as a couple windows to be replaced. This went fine and was quoted a certain amount with 1) the understanding that I would be told if they found more bad siding to let me know and 2) to use my paint so it would match. I paid my 10% and was
told it would be about 6 weeks before they would get to my home. I purchased about $100 dollars of the exact paint color for the workers once the time came.
I had contacted the company in June to let them know that we would be out for about 2 weeks in
Bladenboro Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
on vacation and told them the date ranges. A week before we left on vacation, I contacted them again to let them know and was told they would let the job supervisor know.
The day I left for vacation, I was notified that they were at my home and ready to begin work. I told them that this wouldn’t be possible until I returned.
Forward to mid-August. Again I had workers show up unannounced at our home to begin work. I was fine with it, but would have
preferred an alert a few days prior.
Monday, the first day of work, the workers fixed the siding on one part of the home.
Day two, it rained and no one had shown up at all.
Day three, old windows pulled and replaced, more siding repaired/replaced. In the evening of day three, I noticed soft siding on the one side that should have been replaced. Additionally, I had some trim inside my home broken during the replacement of the old windows. I left a message with company with my concerns.
On day four, a supervisor came by my home in the evening, looked at the windows (which were very loose on the inside), the trim, and the siding. He said the trim and windows would be fixed and threw out a price for the additional siding. I was more than happy to have the additional siding fixed and was fine with the quoted cost. I was told people would be at my home
Friday and Saturday to get the job finished.
On day five, a single worker had shown up to replace the soft panels on the side of my home and dress the front windows. After he left, I noticed the window trim outside looked terrible, dented and stained.
Day six, Saturday, no one had shown in the morning. I received a call from another person later that morning. He told me he would be coming by to check out the windows later in the afternoon. He did show at the scheduled time, checked out the windows and looked dissatisfied with the work that was done. He adjusted the windows and they were finally working like they
should. They seem to be great windows. He looked at the trim outside around the windows and said it didn’t look good and was going to have someone fix it the next week.
On Monday, day seven, the painters had shown up at my home around 2:30. They caulked, painted, and fixed the trim around the windows. I noticed later that evening that the paint I provided them was not used at all. They had taken a chip of my old paint and had it matched. They proceeded to paint with that color. It was slightly off and very noticeable. I told them in a phone call that evening that it was the wrong paint, even though my wife had pointed out the paint to the painters when they arrived. Instead of going by what the contract had stated and what they had been told two times verbally, they still painted it incorrectly. They promised to paint it again but use my paint.
On Tuesday, day eight, they had painted the outside with the correct paint and fixed the trim in my home. At this point, I was told someone would show on Wednesday around 5:30 to collect, which I was fine with.
No one came by on Wednesday at all.
On Thursday, I was finally contacted. I paid the gentleman that arrived at my home and let him know what I ran into during this job. It was primarily communication that was my biggest issue. No one seemed to know what others were doing and some of the worker skills weren’t as good as what I would have expected. He discounted my total a bit and was on his way. He didn’t disagree with me but it seemed like he may be going through this type of scenario more often than he wanted to.
A couple days later, I went to paint a big on one of the rooms where trim was replaced. The trim was not installed as well as I would have expected and had a few broken parts that I wouldn’t have caught had I not been on a ladder. I repaired them myself and proceeded with the painting.
Overall, I
Bladenboro Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
’t think I could go with this company again based upon my experience. It’s a bit stressful when something that could have taken 3 to 3 ½ days is extended to a little more than a week. I think this company has good intentions, but the project management is the biggest weakness. The communication between the salesman, the company, the supervisors,
the workers, and the customer is a mess. I felt like I had to manage this project myself, and it’s sad to have to
locate the issues and point them out when a good job foreman/supervisor could show up and make certain the job is being done right.
My recommendation to this company is to improve communication, supervise the workers, inspect the job, and find a better skilled person to install the windows than the guy that did mine.

- Chris P.

Bill came out to give me an estimate on new siding for my house. The quote was on the high side (the highest of three bids) and I ended up deciding to have the house repainted instead of having the siding replaced. If we decided to go with new siding, I would have at least considered
Bladenboro Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
though the price may have been the final determining factor. The only trip-ups were in communication. I had an appointment that came and went without communication (I left 3 or 4 voicemails that night as I waited and got no callback) so I blew an evening waiting around for nothing. When I called back the next day again to let them know of the missed appointment and reschedule, the scheduling person didn't get my message until the next day so I missed another day there. After some further conversations, I accepted that it was an honest mistake with a lost email.

They are an excellent company to work with. From Norm the estimator to
Bladenboro Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
the job manager to the crew. This was a massive job which took 3 weeks to complete. They cleaned up at the end of each day and left nothing on the ground. The house now looks great and I am sure my heating bills will go down this winter! I would highly recommend working with this company.

I personally use

Bladenboro Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked

Bladenboro Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
and his company are hardworking, professional and very easy to coordinate with. I would definitely recommend you give this company a try, you won't be disappointed!
- Dino D.

The first scheduled date had to be rescheduled because their warehouse wa out of the gutter caps. They showed up on the promised date, and completed the work. The installer was very courteous and worked hard to complete the job.
- Daniel W.

The crews arrived on time, did everything that was contracted and they completed the job on schedule. There was a misunderstanding on replacing the gutters and
Bladenboro Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
worked with me to resolve the over site fairly for both sides. Over all, they did a great job and they also warranty their work. There were some minor mistakes made along the way and they responded promptly and professionally to all of them providing a solution that left everyone happy.
If you are looking for a crew that takes pride in their work and goes the extra mile for their customer,
Bladenboro Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
is an excellent choice. The owner,
Bladenboro Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
, genuinely cares about the guys who are working for him and it shows in the effort they put out for him.
As for price, I sought three bids and
Bladenboro Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
was right around the middle. I had a budget figure in mind and although he was a little higher then what I wanted to pay, I felt most comfortable giving him the job. I would definitely recommend
Bladenboro Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
for any remodeling job you might have, large or small.
