Don always kept us up-to-date on progress, immediately corrected any issues and/or addressed any of our concerns. Adriana was fantastic in helping with interior/exterior selections and color matching. I would highly recommend Spain Construction.

    D & D Drywall & Painting
So I usually do all my own drywall and painting;  i've done a lot of drywall and am a stickler for making it look perfect so I hate contracting that out.  But i was in a situation where I had to have some work done quickly and had no time to get it done myself so I contractect D&D given that they had good reviews on Angie's list and they were one of the few places that could meet my tight time-line.
the drywall work they did was very good.  surfaces were smooth.  however they didn't do a good job of protecting the surrounding surfaces and left drywall on wood railings and hardwood stairs and embedded in numerous places in the carpet in a couple of rooms.  Also, they was paint dropped and left on the tile and carpet in multiple spots throughout multiple rooms.  they also for some reason replaced a joint tape line that was not a part of the job resulting in me having to repaint the whole ceiling in that small room to get it to match.  In one room they spontaneously decided to fix some other drywall areas that weren't part of the job (which would normally be welcome), but then painted them all with the wrong paint (and did not request the correct paint) meaning i had to repaint portions of several walls in that room.
overall their drywall skills seem good, but painting is questionable, and overall their inability to take the time to protect the walls/floors/etc resulted in a mess!  They offered to come back and fix all the issues, but i refused given how badly the job was botched due to not observing the fundamentals (i didn't want to keep compounding the problem).  So i had to spend many hours resolving all the problems from the job.   It definitely didn't save me enough time to be worth the money.

    The Tile Shop
We were a bit scared at first because the Tile shop is SO big!   But Chris, our sales rep, helped us narrow our choices and find what we really needed.  The displays in the store open our minds to combinations we had not imagined and our bath remodel was 100% better for the input.  Our tile installer said the white ceramic tile we bought was the best and most uniform he had ever seen.

Chad stayed with us start to finish.  Got all the details right, and worked hours that fit our schedule as well as his.  No one is easier to work with or cares more about customer satisfaction than Chad.

    You Call We Install Flooring
I contacted Mike on Angie's List website and he responded within a very short time.  We set up an appointment to go over the work and he was there on time (or even early), gave me an estimate and set a time for the work to be done.  He confirmed the time via email, called and left a message to be sure I received the email, and arrived again promptly on time to do the work.  It was done and he was out the door in no time at all, having performed everything as requested.  What's not to like about a contractor like that?  I highly recommend his services.

Chad was great to work with.  Enjoyed "shopping" trip to get supplies and tile and he let us be involved at every phase of project.  Never felt pressured or bullied into a decision.  Brad was there with his subs every minute and did a great job with prep and clean up.
This was a hard project in a tight space and the results are just what we wanted.

UPDATE 12/2014   Chisel did such a great job we brought Chad back to do our other bathroom!  It turned out great too.....

    Ceramic Visions
I have been so impressed with Jeff and Gary from Ceramic Visions. They are very friendly, knowledgeable, and just a joy to be around. They showed up on time every day until the job was complete. They came in, we talked about how I wanted my wood-look porcelain tiles to be laid out, they went straight to work, and they made it look even better than I could have imagined. I can not say enough about their quality of work. They have been a breath of fresh air. After seeing what they can do, I can guarantee that they will be the only people I have lay any flooring for me in the future. I highly recommend them.

    Adams Tile Repair Co
We hired Mac because he had done work with very good results for us at a previous location.  Unfortunately, we did not have the same good results this time.  Mac came to survey the work areas and provided quote so he would know exactly what was to be done.  One shower had bad grout that was rubbery-like and neeed rework.  He did get rid of the rubbery-like substance that was in the grout lines, but chipped up the tiles surrounding the drain.  He did recaulk the kichen backsplashes and they looked fine, after one year they already need redone. He regrouted the master shower and that work looked fine when he was done, one area there also needs reworked after one year. This interior work was completed in February 2012
On the exterior porch, he suggested water was penetrating the grout lines so he regrouted to help seal them. He said this might take more than one treatment, we would have to evaluate after some time and he could come back in the future to re-treat to (over time) resolve the issue.  This work he performed in June 2012.  He was there for days, typically between about 10 or 11 AM and 2 PM. I don't object to his short work days because they are very intense, but when he, at the end of this project, said the job had taken him longer than he'd planned, he charged me more money than originally quoted. He told me this work had been frustrating for him. I believe his added charge was unfair. He is an experienced tile worker. He was at the job site to provie a quote so he could see exactly what the job involved.  If he was unsure, he should have said upfront that he would bill on exact time and material. Waiting until after he is done and then adding money for labor doesn't seem right, but I paid it.
Even though I provided him with exact grout names and when asked, I told him yes, I wanted him to match the existing grout, he applied a much darker material to the exterior porch, so that it does not match the under roof portion where he did not treat. He also left the final day with a heavy glaze on the entire exterior porch which I had to scrub (multiple times) to remove from the tile. The end results were no improvement and I paid about $600 for that portion of the work.
Despite being instructed to use our laundry sinks for his water source and cleaning instead of our stainless sinks, he used my stainless sinks and scratched them beyond repair.  He said oh yes, you did tell me that. No I'm sory, no offer to remedy my marred sinks.
I do not like writing negative reviews.  Based on the work Mac did for us a few years back, I expected the same quality. We did not get that. Mac is a nice person, but  I did not invite Mac back to rework, and would not hire him in the future based on this performance.

    All Points Carpet Care
They communicated through email right after I bought the deal to schedule the date for the service.  They arrived as scheduled and did a very good job.  The tile looks new, the grout is white again, and all of the vinyl siding is spot free on the outside of the house.

Tile work, no show the first day, showed up late and with out wet-saw an essential tool. The second could not communicate in english, failed to follow any reasonable form of instruction and fine on third day. Granite excellent on both jobs. Will use again for granite, but not for tile.
