    Arden Dental Group LLP
I was denied any type of care here during an emergency visit. My dentist recommended this practice due to their openings and willingness to take patients on Friday (which by no doubt is only to fatten their already huge pockets). I broke a tooth on Thursday night and was told to call Arden Dental Care in the morning. My regular dentist was unable to see me until Tuesday and I didn't want to be in pain or have no front tooth for 4 days. I called the office at 8am like I was told and they explained to me that it would cost $122 to do a comprehensive exam and to take ex-rays. I told them on the phone that I didn't need ex-rays or a comprehensive exam, I only needed them to tell me if they could temporarily fix the tooth or not and I also said I'd be willing to pay whatever needed for the fix if they could do it. They again told me it was $122, basically just to sit in the dentists chair. I again explained the situation and they put me on hold. When they picked back up they told me to come in and they would take a look to assess the situation and then discuss pricing. So I raced over which was 45 minutes away and as soon as I walked in the door and gave them my name, they said it would be a minimum charge today of $122 regardless of what they did. Obviously they knew that whoever spoke to me on the phone before had made a mistake and wanted it to be clear immediately that I was going to pay $122. I explained what I was told on the phone and they said that it's their policy for new patients and apologized for the confusion. I said this was not a mix up or confusion on my part, THEIR staff gave me the wrong information and now I had to drive an hour and thirty minutes in pain with a broken tooth for no reason. After showing some frustration and being fairly upset, I'll admit on my part (as would most of us with a broken tooth in a lot of pain who wasted an hour and a half and could not get relief). After this brief argument with the receptionist she said she would ask the dentist. When she cam back she again said that it would be $122 to see the dentist, at which point I said, all I need is 30 seconds for them to tell me if they could even possibly fix it and then I would be glad to pay the $122 and more, but if they were going to make me pay $122 and not be able to fix it then that is something I can't afford. At this point Dr. Deines came out into the waiting room and started to raise his voice at me telling me that I had no right to make any demands and that their policy is to pay $122 no matter what. I explained the situation again and then he raised his voice again and explained to me that I was out of luck in a very rude and angry manner. He was standing there in a threatening manner, trying to intimidate me! So, although the dentist didn't have 30 seconds to take a look at me open my mouth and say yes we can possibly do something or absolutely not, he had plenty of time to stand in the waiting room acting threatening and trying to intimidate me. At that point he yelled at me "GET OUT OF MY OFFICE"! If caring about patients and people in pain was half as important to Dr. Deines as acting like a bully and being a jerk, then I bet he's a heck of a dentist! If this is the treatment I received in the waiting room from this extremely insensitive and aggressive man, I can't imagine the treatment I would have received on my teeth. Not only should you not use this practice but this dentist should not be practicing medicine with his complete lack of empathy for a patient in pain and his overall blood thirsty need for money that was so overwhelmingly apparent. This is literally what is wrong with our society as a whole, when someone has a tiny bit of power they use it for greed, ego and and to bully anyone they can. Dr. Dienes plan and simple is the most unprofessional person I have ever come across in the medical industry, but hey, maybe dentists don't have to take any oath, because Doctor Dienes certainly doesn't care about people in pain, especially poor people, but he does care that he get's his $122 out of you!!!!!

    Scheiderich , Dr. Mark D.

Dr. Scheiderich examined the tooth, did various tests and adjusted my bite.  Dr. Scheiderich and staff were very informative. They took time to assess my situation, answer my questions and educate me regarding my situation.

My wife and I have been using them for many years and trust them to do whatever needs to be done. I would not consider going to any other dentist.

WNC Dental J Randall Latta DDS & Associates PA

I use WNC Dental J Randall Latta DDS & Assosciates PA.  I was there October of 2015.  The atmosphere in the office is the B. I had issues with a bill, they straightened it out but it took a while for them to figure it out.  The dental work is mostly fine.

Since the dentist I've been seeing is about 45 minutes from my house, I've often thought of changing to a dentist much closer to home.   Since I no longer have dental insurance, a dentist's office which runs various deals throughout the year, as Dr.Smile does, makes the idea of changing even sweeter.  They told me about their new-patient offer (which is SO worth the money!) and told me about their other offers as well.
The staff is warm, friendly, and INFORMATIVE.  If you ask a question, you get a solid answer.  If something you say is unclear
to them, they keep asking questions until it IS clear.   They don?t have to get the doctor?s permission to talk to you; they just give you the information you ask for.
Nor was there pressure on me to change dentists at this time.  In fact, Dr. Michael Hernandez gave me the name of the cement they'd used so I could let my current dentist know, and he offered to send him the xrays as well.
I like the way staff members interact with one another, with the dentist, and with me.  Here?s an example:
The bridge I came in with is a problem, for the two teeth anchoring it are nearly gone.  That gives the bridge very little to hold
on to, so it's not surprising that it has fallen off twice.  Dr. Hernandez,  his assistant, and I discussed the up side AND the down side of the various cementing options.  Should he go with a permanent bonding?   It might hold, but it might hold only on
one tooth, causing a wobble that would damage the 'good' tooth.   Should that happen, his having used permanent bonding cement might  make the bridge so much harder for my current dentist to remove that it might break in the process.  Then I'd need to have a whole new bridge made, so that solution was out.  Temporary cement? No; if the bridge couldn't stay on when bonded to a tooth, temporary cement certainly wouldn't do it.  Root canal?  Not only am I unwilling to have that done, I can't afford both the procedure and a whole new bridge, so that's out for me.
He gave me his best suggestion for a cement that would stay for a while but would not present my current dentist with a problem should it either  fell off again or had to be removed.   It sounded good to me, and so that?s what I went with.
I did have to have those teeth xrayed, which is just standard procedure, but the dentist saw the xrays before even meeting me and was already aware of the problem before he came in.
I'd turned down the idea of a novocaine shot -- the teeth weren't super-painful, so it seemed unnecessary.  When Dr. Hernandez was drying the teeth with a jet of air, however, I winced.    ?Oh; that?s not going to work,? he said, and immediately switched  over to drying them with gauze.  He didn?t say things like ?I?m almost done; hang on a little longer?; he just automatically went with whatever would work better for the patient, even though it might?ve used a little more of his time.
In short, I couldn't have asked for more from a dentist or a dentist?s office.
Did I mention that I purchased their new patient package?
    I?ll be back.

    Scheiderich , Dr. Mark D.
Office staff was very welcoming from our first interaction calling to schedule.  We did use an Angie's List Coupon which was covered the cost of the x rays and we did each get a full set of x rays.  The hygienists who treated us were very personable, gentle and thorough.  Dr. Scheiderich was friendly and professional.  We both felt very comfortable in the office and have no hesitation about recommending Dr. Scheiderich and his staff.

This will entail three parts.   Opening ceremonies?.common cleaning and?..argggg!!! pulling of a tooth.
I changed dentists due to a change of insurance coverage and selected WNC Dental as my new provider.
The personnel upon entry were all nice, friendly, courteous, kind?.must've been girl scouts in earlier years. Proficient and professional.
The Dental Hygienist was SUPER! Her name was Ginger and I will definitely ask for her on all my future visits. Really friendly and good sense of humor.  We talked about everything and settled a number of the world's problems.
And now for SUPERMAN!  The dentist. I chose an older gentleman by the name of Dr. Harry Moczek, a graduate of The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and I did not hold that against him?in fact it was one reason for my selection.
He too does not hold against me that I went to ALABAMA.
After the cleaning process I established an appointment for a tooth situation which had been bothering me?that being 4/15/14.
It was determined that the tooth had to go and the 4/15 appointment was set with the doctor prescribing me two medications.
On Wednesday the day of dread occurred and what I thought was going to be a gut=wrenching experience turned out absolutely O.K.. His chair-side manner is exceptional and he too has a great sense of humor despite having to go to college in North Carolina.
I would recommend Western North Carolina Dental Associates to anybody from driving distance even surpassing 100 miles. And if you can grab this man, one Harry Moczek, I totally suggest you do so.
And one final note that I deem exceptional.  Wednesday night/evening after 7:00 Doc Harry called me from his home?after hours?.just to check and see that I was O.K.  That's kinda cool and reminds me of the old days when doctors made house calls and really cared about their patients??.all this?.and he graduated from NC/Chapel Hill.

Dr Port was very nice and very informative about all my treatment options. He listened to what I wanted and came up with the best treatment plan. I also spend a lot of time with Lisa and she was so nice. I am still deciding when I want to start treatment and which orthodontic dr I want to go with . But felt very comfortable in there office. I could see myself going there.

The billing Dentist was Latta, but the treating one doesn't have his name on any of the insurance papers or anything, and he hardly spoke or explained anything to my husband.  His manners were rude, and procedures painful. My husband says the crown is not even a good fit.   Two months later, we received letters that their practice no longer will no longer accept the Aetna network plan that we have.
We hadn't even complained when my husband paid  $414.50 on the day of service  when our insurance reported that we only were supposed to  owe $80.00 of the $1,023.00 bill.   The insurance only paid $362.00 of the charges according to Member rate plan.  The dentist was to have given higher allowances on the charges.   Billing us the higher amount was probably fraudulent at the time. I understand that getting paid only about 30% on charges by insurance is extremely low, but those were the terms then.
In any case, we're tired of dentists claiming that they're participants in Dental plans, only to disavow it after they get you in the door. This happened to us twice in Maryland, and then, immediately on our arrival in Asheville.

    Christopher C. Kennerly, DDS, PA
Everything went very smoothly. I had a routine cleaning. I've had grafts done on my gums, x-rays, etc. at other appointments.
I've been seeing Dr. Kennerly and his team for several years now. My father is a wonderful dentist, so it takes a lot to impress me when I visit a dental office, but I've been very happy with Dr. Kennerly (incidentally, his father is a dentist, too). His office is super-organized and never seems to run behind. The hygienist I see has been there for many years and is excellent--she and Dr. Kennerly are very friendly and always seem to remember a lot about me and my dental issues even though I mostly go for routine work.
You won't be disappointed. Also, worth the possible wait to get into their rotation as a regular patient, as I did.

All the staff I dealt with were friendly and efficient.  The Group recently remodeled the street level floor of their clinic and it is dedicated to dental hygiene.  The second floor is where the other work is done.  All the equipment seems to be state of the art.  I recommend them highly.
