Great! Tim knows what he's doing. He got it running and cleaned up in an incredibly reasonable amount of time. I did need the carburetor replaced, but I expected that. What I did not expect was the great price. Highly recommended.

    Ben's Lawn Mower Repair
Fantastic, if a little different experience. I called the number, got a voicemail greeting instructing me to leave the mower in front of Ben's garage. I took the mower over on a Saturday, feeling a little silly since no one was around, but there was a line of 20 other mowers so I dutifully unloaded my mower, taped my name and number to the handle, and went home. Ben called the next day and said it was ready to go. $90 parts and labor and he fixed the carburetor, changed the oil, and replaced the air filter and spark plug, plus gave me some tips on keeping it in perfect running shape.
Great, quick service and super friendly guy. Highly recommended.

    Arvin Inc
They do a adequate job and they seem to be trustworthy and fair. That is a big plus in this type of business. I turn to Arvin solely for this type of small engine repair since they are the only provider who I have not had a bad experience with.

Tim was very knowledgable. He gave a four hour window of time and called within 15 minutes of his expected arrival. When he arrived, he noted that he had the mower down for service and when I mentioned that some parts had been recently replaced and I didn't think service was needed, he did not try to talk me into it. I did instruct him to do service if he found something which needed to be replaced.
Tim had the mower up and going in about an hour. He cleaned the carburetor, drained the fuel and replaced a bad gasket. He took explained exactly what the issue was and also noted another part that might need to be replaced in the future, as well as took the make/model of the part so he'd have it when we need it to be replaced. It was raining and he didn't cancel, which we appreciated. He had a nifty awning that rolled out from his truck so that he and the lawnmower could stay dry while he worked.
Overall, great service and nice guy. Price was very fair. We will definitely use them again when needed.

Asked that he look over the mower thoroughly, tune up all standard items, and make any needed repairs. Once he left the mower worked good but a few days later I started getting smoke and mower was shaking. When I talked to him by phone he suggested that the oil leak from head onto the muffler was likely the cause and would cost too much to repair, suggested I buy new mower. Not sure why that was not revealed before he completed the work and charged $110. And thought it would be courteous to at least make a return visit to see if there was an easier fix. Had there been a fix I would have paid for the work but his wife wanted to charge upfront for him to come out again. Also found it difficult to reach him by phone, he would only return calls late in evening and had a couple of calls go unreturned. His wife was also slow to return emails.

    Precision Outdoor Power Equipment
tThe blower I took to them is about 8 years old. It had never been serviced since new. Last year it was very hard to start & ran poorly when I could get it started. This year it wouldn't start at all. There were times that old gas was left in the carb/tank for many months, so the ethanol likely built up & caused much of my issues. Took the blower to Precision, they had it for about three weeks & I picked it up last Friday. Took it home & it runs like it did when it was brand new. They take a $20 deposit when you drop something off & you pay the balance when the job is done. So for a total of $47 I have what works like a brand new machine again.

    MIKE'S OUTDOOR POWER , LLC
After over a week went by with no response on the status of equipment, had to call to ask for an update on repair progress. I was informed equipment hadn't been looked at yet. At this point I asked when it could be looked at and what approximate cost would be,  because I didn't want to spend so much on repairs that it might have been better to have just bought new equipment instead. 5 days later, I was notified my equipment was ready. Services were completed to the equipment, but the problem was not fixed, and now I am told I will have to take it to some other specialist for repair. Bottom line, I left my equipment with the mechanic for two weeks and paid $75 ~ to be told he couldn't fix my equipment. Now that is money I won't have to put towards the eventual actual repair that is still going to be needed. Very disappointing experience.

    MIKE'S OUTDOOR POWER , LLC
He said he would do a minimal service on the mower, and would likely swap in a used blower housing (which contains the recoil / starter), and get it running for about $75. He said it would take about a week. I took it in on Tuesday, and Mike called back on Thursday, and said that he did feel that he could fix it, but due to the age, he wanted to collect a $75 deposit via credit card over the phone to authorize the work. I agreed. End of day Thursday, Carol called to say it was fixed, and the total would be $81. I said that was great, I would pick it up Monday.
Monday, when I got it, Mike started it up and verified that it was working great (and it was super clean at this point!). I thanked him, took it home, and mowed the lawn, and it worked great. I am glad that I took it to Mike and that he was able to fix it so I can get some more years out of it.
He replaced the air filter, spark plug, changed oil, adjusted the overhead valves, removed, cleaned and soaked the carburetor, and installed a good, used blower housing / recoil unit.
