    BC Landscaping & Junk Removal
This is the second year I have used BC landscaping. The owner was very prompt replying to messages. The workers were very professional and efficient and I would recommend them to anyone I know. I will be using them again next year.

One of the most disappointing things a business can do is NOT SHOW for an appointment and to NOT CALL a customer to say they can't make the appointment. On Friday 4/26 I advised company owner Charles Williard that I need 3 things done, mowing, edging and bushes/hedges trimmed to be completed by the following week Friday (within 7 days). Charlie said he would do the job. I gave him my availability for that week. By Tuesday morning, after not hearing from him, I left a voice message and texted him that I would need some advance notice and needed to know what day he would be able to mow my lawn, edge and trim bushes/hedges. He called back later that afternoon and said he would be at my house in 30 minutes to mow, but the bushes and hedges would have to be done the following week sometimes. Of course I said NO as that is not what we agreed to and he did not give me proper advance notice. Finally, he said he could come the next day (Wednesday) May 1st at 3 p.m. and do the mowing AND the trimming of the bushes. I said, okay. However, Charlie failed to show May 1 and he failed to call me. As of 3 days later, I never heard from him again.

    Nicolas' Hardscapes & Drainage LLC
The job went extremely well. They arrived on time, began work on time, and did a wonderful job. The crew takes extreme pride in their work and doesn't consider the job done until the customer is satisfied. What more can you ask for?

    Vin DiPasquale Landscaping
The sod install has gone bad from the start. Mr. DiPasquale seemed like a very nice man and I trusted him to be the expert and follow up on his word which for the most part he did. He scheduled the fescue sod delivery for Monday April 1 (should have been a red flag). His crew worked very hard and the sod was installed. Mr. DiPasquale advised that he would be offering me a lawn treatment contract as well but would be stopping by within a week and several times after to check on the sod to ensure it was rotting properly even without that contract. Within 2 days the sod was dying. The whole back yard smelled terrible. I called and texted Mr. DiPasquale and he came by and advised me that the sod issue was a manufacturing issue in that it was cut the Friday before the Monday delivery and sat on pallets in the heat all weekend. He then returned with the sod provider (whos name was not disclosed) who did a walk through and agreed to provide 1 pallets of sod to replace the dead sod. Once that was done it looked ok. I had been following all of Mr. DiPasquales instructions regarding proper watering and had 8 sprinklers set on timers to a schedule that he agreed with. I hand watered every piece of replacement sod on installation. I was not advised to do anything else at this time and that by June I should consider further treatments. Within 2 weeks much of it was dying so I called Mr. DiPasquale back to advise. He returned and advised that I had ants that were responsible for the sod dying and that he could do nothing more. He also advised that I should apply insecticide and low nitrogen fertilizer and he could return in the fall to over seed and hope for regrowth the next season and then quickly left. I followed his instructions and applied pesticide and the lowest nitrogen fertilizer that I could find. At this point I began doing research that I should have done prior to the project. I found that especially with fescue you cannot cut the sod more that 24-48 hours before the installation. Mr. DiPasquale had scheduled the sod delivery for a Monday which left very little chance that this would be done properly. The sod installer should inspect the sod upon delivery and turn away any fescue sod that has been cut more than 48 hours prior. This was not done. They accepted and installed the sod anyway. I feel badly for Mr. DiPasquales crew who worked very **** ** this project. Not just once but twice. I then consulted with Super Sod and they concurred and advised that if fescue sod had been subjected to heat stress prior to the installation there was very little likelihood of it surviving especially in the heat that we experienced in late April and into May. If there was an insect issue within a month of installation, that was likely due to the rotting sod (the bad smell right after installation was the clue). The insects were secondary to the real problem. At 2 months I have followed all of Mr. DiPasquales instructions and almost 70% of the sod is dying or completely dead and theres nothing I can do until fall after paying more than $9,000. I trusted Mr. DiPasquale and needless to say, I am beyond disappointed. He was responsive but the whole job should have been done over. I will need to start all over in the fall to have it replaced. This cannot be corrected by over seeding.

    Bolt Outdoor Lighting Pro's
Kevin at Bolt was great to work with! Never had to wonder if you would hear back, always quick with communications. The project turned out beautiful with the exterior lighting and really brought my new house to life. Always on time, friendly, and professional! Highly recommend.

    Soto Tree Service
I am really happy with Carlos and his crew and the job they completed. They did exactly what was required of them and they cleaned up afterwards. I added more trees to the original estimate and still the price was very reasonable. I highly recommend.

I worked for Dave for a short period of time. After learning how he treats his employees, I honestly flaked on him. However, I recently was diagnosed with combat-related PTSD, and I realize that the reason I was so negatively affected by his terrible leadership tactics was because of the PTSD I had, and still suffer from. Furthermore, he has still failed to pay me my last paycheck of nearly $300 in spite of having knowledge of my disability. As a struggling engineering student, father of five and husband of a wife still recovering from breast cancer, I condone any relationship or affiliation with Neighbor Boy in any capcity. In other words, do NOT do business with Neighbor Boy.

    The Sod Man
Overall, they did a very good job. They came for the ground prep on the first day and the crew worked very diligently to remove lots of roots running across the yard. They finished laying down 8 pallets of sod on the second day, setting up the automatic sprinkler system with their loaned timer and cleaning up. We really like their established procedure including the sprinkler system and visits during the 6-7 week period to check on the grass. The crew also came back to roll down the new grass after about 8 weeks. The old and new lawn now have joined nicely. Murphy also sent out a crew member to replace the sods on one spot that didn't grow well. I will definitely recommend The Sod Man to friends and neighbors when they have a need for new lawn.
