  • I made an appointment for 9:00 am, but they were"backed up", so waited 45 minutes before they took the vehicle back to service.  I was quoted a cost of $129.00 and informed I had to give the cashier my credit card before a work order could be generated.  He said this was just in case they had someone who wouldn't pay.  The work was done in an hour and I was told to check out with the cashier who asked for my credit card again.  When I said I had already submitted it once, he said, "Oh, that was just to keep in our files."  I said I had not given permission for my credit card to be kept in their system and I wanted it removed. This all took awhile because he needed to find a manager to remove my credit card from their files.  While waiting he let me know that they would dewinterize the camper "for free" in the spring if I brought it back in.  Due to that distraction, I didn't question the fact that my bill was actually $148.95.  So today I called to ask about the extra charges which are listed as: service supplies customer $9.00, antifreeze $11.00, dewinterize accrual $19.98 and promotional advertising $-6.76.   
    Today the cashier issued a credit of $19.95 because "they had quoted $129.00 and shouldn't have charged extra for my water filter".  What?  That charge isn't shown anywhere on my invoice.  I've asked for a credit of $19.98 on the "free" dewinterization because it's likely I will be living in another state next spring.  That will require the authorization from a general manager however and I'll have to call back in a couple of weeks.  In fairness they performed the work adequately, but the charges are all over the place.  And I have to ask if it's legal for a business to keep credit cards on file without a customer's express permission.  No wonder credit card fraud is rampant.  Even if I'm in town, I won't go back to this business in the spring for my "free" dewinterization."
