The guy showed up at my doorstep, unannounced. Basically telling me he was going to do the job. Reluctantly, we set up a date and when they came they seemed to do a good job. When he was almost finished he says "Oh! You're septic tank goes the other way!" He then proceeds to tell me that he'll come back next year to finish the other half of the tank. I thought if you are going to pay someone $250 that you should get the job done right, the FIRST time. He and his helper also did an absolutely terrible job of filling in the hole when they were finished. Then theres the small moment when a roommate of mine comes home, he's parked in her spot, then calls her a "Bi***" when she got angry at him for his rudeness. I can only say one positive thing, the secretary who answered the phone was very nice and easy to work with.

I called Grant Creek Excavating in mid July 2013 and the owner answered on the first call. I was impressed that he was willing to come out to my property that very day and look at the septic tank and excavating job. He seemed down to earth and said he could do the work in about 2 weeks. He seemed serious and I was grateful that he responded so quickly. The job was to remove an old septic tank and install a new one with a drainage field. I remember telling him how glad I was to have found someone willing to do the job because I had called 3 other companies before his trying to get a company who would do septic excavation with no luck. He said he was busy for the next 2 weeks but would get back to me with an estimate and I wrote down my email address for him to contact me. He never wrote me or called me after that day and I had to find yet another company to come out and look at the job and actually do the work.

After getting estimates Grant Creek was the most responsive contractor that I talked to. He did research and gave a very accurate bid. (Other contractors bid from 20000 to 24000. They did a great job and every one communicated well. They did not cause any unnecessary damage and did a great job cleaning the site afterward and making it ready for landscaping. I would recommend them to anyone who asked.

Cory was great.  I did not know him nor had I heard about Reveal Excavation.  I found his number on Craigslist when I was trying to get two or three bids from different people for my project.  Cory was quick to provide a bid and pointed out things with sprinklers and the grade of the hill that I did not notice as a homeowner.  He was careful to minimize the driving of the Bobcat on my lawn to not damage it.  The top soil he brought was high quality with no rocks in it and he leveled it perfectly with the rest of the yard.  Without me saying anything, he cleared and swept the sidewalk clean at the end of each day of work and clean up the job site at the end of each day.  He did a great job and the price seemed fair to me.  Without reservation, I would not hesitate to hire Cory.

Barnes Excavating was recommended by the plumber I originally asked to repair the main house water valve who declined the work because of the age and condition of the plumbing. John Barnes responded promptly, arrived on time to assess the situation and returned a bid within 2 days with 4 possible itemized options dependent on the conditions of the water lines. Unfortunately, neither the local water company records or the proposed bid options matched locations or the conditions underground. Fortunately for me, with careful excavation the current water line was located and the buried and defective curb box and water line to main was replaced. The house shut off valve was a relatively easy job. The house was left clean and the excavation work in the alley neat and leveled with no debris left behind. John's quiet can-do attitude and his approach of attempting the simplest and least expensive strategies first was reassuring. His bill was itemized and detailed. John was pleasant to work with and did a great job. I recommend him.

Ken had a competitive bid, slightly lower than the others we called. We started the remodel in late June/early July 2010 with the goal of being completed by August. The first three weeks went well, but then walling took a while as we had wet weather. The plumbing also was poorly done and we had to call the plumber back about three times to correct errors, fix leaks, etc. A poor setup caused a water hammer that ripped the pipe out of the wall in the upstairs bathroom, for example, and ruined our kitchen faucet. Around the end of July it was like Ken disappeared. We saw the drywallers occasionally but heard nothing from Ken. Once the drywall was finally done we painted ASAP so we could finish up the trim etc. we painted over Labor Day weekend, but the trim wasn't finished until November, once we threatened to sue. He must have gotten a better paying job elsewhere as far as we could tell. We kept trying to get a final inspection set up through him with the city to clear out the permits but he never returned our calls. We eventually called the city ourselves and got the inspection. Everything was done well but I don't think it was worth the hassle. I'd have gone with the more expensive guy if it would have saved us the frustration.

It went very good, start to finish. I have hired several people to fix up my house over the past six months, and this company was by far the best of all of them. It is so nice to have people who want to work, care about doing a good job, and actually do it.
