Shoulder Pain reviews in Kalispell

Because of a calcium deposit in my left shoulder I had evidently been favoring the shoulder in various ways that led to compounding the problem by allowing certain muscles in the shoulder to be overworked while other muscles were underworked. The result was improper alignment of the balll-and-socket joint of the shoulder.
Dr. Parkhill correctly assessed the situation and over six weeks of manipulation and exercises at his facility, as well as a prescribed regimen of exercise and stretching at home, I found the condition of my shoulder much improved.  It is not 100 percent--the calcium deposit is still there--but the improvement is considerable.  Previously I could not "shrug" on a jacket or coat; now I can.  Previously I could not reach across a desk or table and pick up anything heavier than a coffee cup, and now I can.  I have continued the exercises and stretches--fairly easy ones, by the way--and find that as long as I keep doing them my shoulder stays functional and fairly pain-free.
Dr. Parkhill is an excellent listener (a rarity in some medical circles, I'm sorry to say), and was constantly asking for feedback as he did the manipulations and pressures that constituted our sessions. He was also very clear and thorough in explaining what he was doing and why he was doing it, helping me feel the effects of this or that move or stretch so I would be able to feel when I was correctly strengthening or stretching this or that muscle.  This knowledge helps me now, as I continue the exercises and stretches on my own. I had previously been going to another therapist, also excellent, for a different problem and, frankly, chose Dr. Parkhill because, in addition to some good reviews and recommendations, he was within walking distance of my house.  I'm glad I took those walks.
