I have had good experiences with BLK! Both projects were done with professionalism and quality. BLK took pictures throughout the process, explained options, offered different price points for different levels of extensivity and communicated well with me. They made sure I understood how the work would be done and communicated clearly when unexpected things came up. I felt listened to and valued throughout the process. They provided excellent quality work and I will continue to choose them. Like many contractors, it took longer to get the work completed than was originally stated, but they were very responsive when I requested updates.

Brandon is an expert at building anything. He did an excellent job finishing up the trim work in the basement of my condo. He also did a beautiful job at refinishing my daughter's outside deck and stairwell.

James operated his excavator and his son, John, the skid steer.  They transported their own equipment and brought multiple machine attachments.  Both demonstrated a high level of expertise and professionalism.  Their equipment was in excellent condition and well-fitted for the tasks.  James owns and uses the proper excavator attachments for digging small and large areas, compacting and trenching.  John built a landing dock and retaining wall for us in record time and with the right tools.  John and James work very well together...and safely!  James and John offered helpful suggestions on how to accomplish tasks and optimize the capabilities of the machines.  They are both very talented, polite, communicated well with us and our general contractor.  We will absolutely call on them again as needed.

Kurt found the cause of the problem when the plumbing service I had called didn't bother to take the time to find the cause of the problem and quickly repaired my ruptured pipe that had burse from the extreme cold we have experienced lately.

He installed the pump and the pipe but forgot to put my heat tape back onto the line when he put it back in. I have asked him multiple times to come back and tape it becasue I have a very unusal wind shear in the winter and it has frozen my line down 9 feet twice. To date , 08/15/2013 he has not come and does not return my phone calls. I also started having trouble with air in my water especially in my basement. He lead me to believe that the stop flow valves on the pipe where going out, so in order to get him back out here to fix the entire problem I told him I would buy 3 new valves at a cost of about $120 to $150 and he would then be paid to come back and do the heat tape and the valves. Still no response. SO I am having another well man come out and correct the problems he left behind.

It was (and is) a catastrophe. We hired this company to create a daylight basement with patio at our home.  The estimated cost was $21,000, and we gave $2500 as down payment.  They were also supposed to remodel an upstairs bathroom, so we gave a $1500 down payment on that job.  The basement was scheduled to be done by Thanksgiving 2012.  They didn't even pour concrete until early December, which is the same time the Project Manager, Daryl Guse, left town and took another job 3 1/2 hours away.  He now works at Walmart as a shift manager.  Never were we informed he'd left the company, and the crew simply plugged along guessing at what we might want instead of confessing Daryl left and that they needed to revisit the project.  The owner sent a final bill before the job was done -- there wasn't even hardware on the doors and window yet!  Bill Pierce came out and asked we simply pay him and that he was not going to do the upstairs bathroom and was not going to finish the downstairs project.  The amount of cost to us to make right what was done wrong is going to be twice what Mr. Pierce wants us to pay him.  We will have to tear out concrete walls and put them in the correct location, remove dirt and rock that was put in the wrong place, and tear up the patio floor that was put down wrong and with the wrong material.  His insistence on sticking his head in the sand instead of taking responsibility has left us with no choice but to hire a lawyer to get his attention.  He has hired a debt collector instead of an actual attorney to simply get us to pay.  We've offered to let him simply walk away and leave us to fix the problems on our own, which will cost us much more than anticipated when we hired him.  He can even keep the $4,000!  Hopefully he will be wise enough to do this and not engage in a drawn-out trial.  No one wants that -- let's just move on in a positive direction.

Helena Septic Pumping was able to get me on their calendar right away. I can't speak to the quality of the pumping. I wasn't experiencing any problems and didn't look into the holding tank personally. i assume the pumping went fine.
My problem is two-fold. First, the driver of the septic pumping truck drove right through the middle of my yard, for a distance of approximately 150'. It's springtime and the yard is soft. The truck left deep ruts the entire length of my yard. This was totally unnecessary, as there's an access road on the other side of my yard where they truck would have been closer to the septic system and would not have disturbed my lawn at all.
My second problem is the management's total lack of responsiveness to resolve my problem. I paid my invoice immediately (since they did in fact pump my septic system), but I included a letter and photos of the damage, asking that Helena Septic return to repair the damage they caused. A month later, I haven't received any response at all. This total lack of customer service is unacceptable. I would highly recommend that  you find another pumping service in the Helena valley.

This contractor was hired by my neighbor to swap egress windows. I came home one day to find that he had been trespassing on my land and dumped the dirt from his job on my land. He damaged my fence, the side of my house, my rain gutters and destroyed my lawn. His excuse was that he thought it was okay. He agreed to plant new seed the next spring, but after repeated calls, he has never replanted the seed and refuses to provide his insurance information for a claim after 2 years.

As stated above (sorry this is my first review) Homeworks was on time and respectful, cleaned up daily, and finished the entire project timely.
When I work with contractors, I want written estimates with clear parameters before the work starts, as much as possible.  This is how Homeworks does business, so I highly recommend them.  The cost was substantial, so you need to do your due diligence for apples-to-apples comparisons, but we love the result.  The other contractors we contacted were less detailed or less professional or were not as comprehensive in their plans.  Homeworks presented a plan, based on our request, that created confidence on our part that they had heard what we wanted to do and would meet expectations.  That means a lot.

The price was excellent, and once he got into the job, he did a lot of services he never even billed me for. He was very easy to get along with, he was on time every single day and if ever there was a morning when he was going to be late, or couldn’t make it, he always made sure to call and let me know as soon as possible. The only thing is that he doesn’t work an eight hour day, he works a six hour day from seven thirty to one thirty, because he lives in the St Helena area and it’s a full one and a half hour to two hour commute for him. It didn’t bother me, but some people in other reviews saw it as a drawback. I absolutely would use him again in the future.
