Home Builder reviews in Great Falls

Mike Hagen (and all of his crew) are hands down the BEST contractors to work with. Mike is such a down to earth guy, and was so accommodating to build our house the way we wanted it! Even after the house was finished, he has been so responsive in coming to help us figure out the quirks of it all. I HIGHLY recommend him! The next home we build will definitely be a Hagen Construction house!

Brad was very professional and did an excellent job and covered all the bases of reviewing a roofing job that was not done well by calling other roofers and the city inspector. He really helped me out.

Dave is one of the most professional contractors I have ever met.  He is knowledgeable and honest as the day is long.  The previous contractor I used  did not finish the job and left the soffit just hanging, half done, on the house, Dave took time to explain to me what my home needed, and gave me a great bid.  He and his apprentice Shawn showed up on time and did a terrific job on both projects, Dave even gave me some suggestions for the best gutter guy for the job.  He has great contacts in town and can steer you to honest and reliable people to work on your home.  I can't say enough about this contractor, it was the best experience I have had.

I can't believe how easy he was and is to work with. His flexibility in meeting our needs was crucial in us being able to build our house. Start to finish time was shorter than he projected even with weather delays. We truly felt as though we were at the top of his list. He kept us well informed of the progress and would often check in to insure that the final product would be as expected. When it was time for us to pick out flooring, cabinets, appliances, and counter-tops he did not push us towards any one brand or supplier, but did offer ideas when we asked for his advice. He is a very realistic person and will not say whatever just to get your business. He is very honest and a pleasure to do business with. We have been living in our house since December of 2013 and he continues to check in on us and address any concerns we have. This was our first experience in building a home and I really cant believe how well it went. I would recommend Hagen Construction to anyone looking to build a home.
This review may sound to good to be true, I know there is another review on here that is quite the opposite of mine. In business or life there is no such thing as perfection and any relationship, whether business or personal is a 2-way street. Some people are never satisfied and always want something for nothing. I don't know the specifics of the other reviewer of Hagen Construction that gave him an and quot;Fand quot; rating, but I expected a quality product for a fair price with good customer service, and that is exactly what I got from Mike Hagen.

As mentioned above, everyone working with and for Tom was not only professional but cheerful as all heck. We refer to them as
and quot;Tom and his merry menand quot;. They began by demolishing the old walls and jack hammering the concrete floor. Everything was
cleaned up at the end of each day. We were advised and asked our opinions all steps os the way, which we really appreciated. The
water and electricity were never off for more than an hour, allowing us to use the upstairs bathroom. They moved the main stack and
the main drain, no easy tasks. Then they installed the heated floor wires and tiled the floors, the shower walls, floor and ceiling and
tiled waistcoting around the room. The granite vanity appears to and quot;floatand quot; on the wall. The room was painted and new lighting and
vent fans installed. And the doorway was widened (something we had not even thought about) so that as we age the room is easily
accessed. The work was done in a timely, if not instantly done and we never heard a hard word among any of the many workers.
Hey, I'm a fan, and very happy.

They came in and measured, then went to their shop and made the door thresholds - each one was custom white oak- came back in a few days and installed them and they look super. I tried to get other companies to do this and no one would show up. I am very pleased at quality and price and they were super courteous and clean. I would use them again, and now I am having them build my new house and the service level is really super, as is the attention to detail.

My parents had a garage fire that totalled the structure.  At the time Howard Cary lived across the street, so as far as convenience was concerned he was the obvious choice.  Howard began work right away and completed the project in about six weeks.  All work was done to code.  I would recommend Cary Construction for any contracting needs.

I met with owner Jim Zarling and discussed my wants and needs. He guided me to refer to some house plans and pick one that suited my likings. We made a few revisions and came up with my lovely new home. As the process continued we came up with my dream home (and it was even affordable)They broke ground and then I had to start making some very important decisions. Choosing colors and designs and decors American Dream Builders was very helpful. After a short three months, I was able to move in. I would definitely hire them again on any future needs for construction.

The groundwork was continually delayed with numerous excuses:The grounds to hard, waiting on parts, waiting on equipment, waiting on manpower, messed up my leg, on house arrest for a DUI, an old lady fell down the stairs on another job he was working on, ran out of money, raining, snowing, to windy, waiting on another job, other job cancelled so don't have equipment becuase was going to use the equipment for both jobs, out of town etc..
The job finally got some movment in April 2012 after numerous phone calls and text messages. The footings were dug out by his crew, then more delays and more phone calls, then they completed the framing for the pour. At that point he said he was out of money and if he didn't get another $300 for the rebar he would have to delay a month or more while he tried to get more jobs completed so he would have the money. I needed the concrete completed so I could move forward with the rest of the project so i gave him the $300 of the remaining $1500 left on the contract after he agreed to sign on the contract that the pour would be completed t next week. After more delays and yet another deadline passed he said he was ready to pour. I contacted him to make sure all the permits were ready and he said he never did any of them and I would have to do it. So my wife and I frantically ran through the process of getting permits and approvals, something he should have done in the begining. A week and a half latter fter getting all the permits in order the contractor scheduled for an inspection. I asked the contactor when he would be there because I wanted to be see him also. Well the time for the inspections came and I was there, the inspector was there but no contractor. He didn't even show up for the city inspection. The framing was all wrong, the rebar was not up to code and even after several calls we couldn't even contact the contractor to ask questions. We failed the city inspection and had to reschedule another one. A few days latter the inspector came back and no contractor was here. The inspector had to call him to get him to come to the site. He was suposedly on his way out of town. The forms were still the same and the concrete is required to be 6 inches above level ground. The contractor wanted me to trench all around the slab to some distance beyond the slab 6 inches below the level of the forms so it would pass. The inspector said I could add a layer of concrete or cinder block all around to raise the level to make it to code. I also had to dill holes in the concrete and add rebar for each ciderblock. I said I would so we could pass the inspection. On the day of the pour the contractor called my wife and said I would have to pay the cement driver when he got there because he didn't have any money to pay them. I got home and they were already starting to pour. I went out to talk to the diriver and he stated someone was paying for the concrete wether he dumped it here or at the office. I reluctantly argeed to pay the driver so I could get it poured. It came to $1375 or so which was over what I still owed on the contract. The contractor never came back to remove the forms so I had to do it. I had to pay for the cinderblocks, the morter, the rebar, the drill and saws-all rental not to mention all the added labor I had to do to fix his mistakes the job still isn't completed and he still owes me anchor bolts he promised would be there for the pour. To date the $4000.00 concrete slab has cost me $4600.00 its still not complete and I'm still waiting for the anchor bolts. The contractor is done at my house but I'm still fixing the problems.
This job was over time, over budget, and way over in frustration and missmanagement. I will NEVER have this contractor do any work for me again.
