  • I had purchased an automatic garage door opener last year but after reading the instructions realized that I no longer am able to do this as many of us senior citizens experience.  So I called Brock DeShaw, who's slogan is "I got this" and he laid out the project and installed it in just a few hours and it worked perfectly.  He has his own tools and does an excellent job of finishing whatever needs doing and is careful to clean up and stand behind his work.  We will be calling on him in the future to help us with various projects I can no longer complete, and I know he has the knowledge and experience to do a satisfactory job.

  • October 21st Jack Beckman came to my house and took pictures of all the indoor faucets that required work.  I also had two outdoor faucets.  I received an email estimate shortly after for a total of $354. I emailed back saying  we would  have House Doctors do the needed work.  Jason, manager, emailed 10/25 and said to call him and he would  send a technician out in a couple days.  Jason said he didn't know exactly what faucets needed work as he said he never looked at the pictures of the faucets that Jack took.  I told him we needed someone that knew what they were doing as we have hard water and lots of corrosion in the faucets.  Three or four days later a guy came to work on the faucets.

    When the gentleman came to do the work he had to make a trip back to town  because he didn't have the required supplies.  He worked on the outdoor faucets first and then attempted to fix my kitchen faucet.  He didn't know how to take the faucet apart so he left that and worked on the tub upstairs on the second floor.  He then went to the master bathroom tub and broke the hot water handle off.  He said he would have to get a new handle and went to work in the laundry room to work on the faucets there.  The handles had been removed and I had told Jack I would like handles replaced so I could adjust the hot and cold water. When the repairman left the kitchen faucet had not been touched ,the master bathroom tub had the handle broken off and there were no handles in the laundry room even though I asked him if he had fixed them and he said yes.  The middle bathtub was still leaking but not as bad and it eventually slowed to a little drip.

    I contacted Jason about the problems.  It was November 13th when I received and email of a picture of a kitchen faucet and the advertisement of a faucet company.  On December 17th I was upstairs when I heard someone come into the house.  I yelled to find out who it was.  It was Jack Beckman who said he had emailed me that he was going to come out in the morning to work on the faucets.  I had not read his email so had no idea he was going to show up.  After trips back to town and work on the kitchen faucet  and attempting to find the correct handles for the master bathroom tub Jack said the whole tub faucet probably needed to be replaced.  I told him that to check out possibly replacing it with a hand held shower faucet when he was in a store.  I asked if he got the kitchen faucet fixed and he said yes.  After Jack left I went to check the kitchen faucet that had been leaking at the joint and making a small puddle on the counter top. When  I turned the faucet on it was worse than before.  It also leaked when the water wasn't even on and there were gouges all over the faucet from his trying to get it apart or tighten it.  I later found a red gasket on the counter top and when the new repairman came out and took the faucet apart it was  obvious that Jack had left it out of the faucet.

    I received a revised bill from Jack on January 23 for $276.  I sent him a payment for $177 since he never fixed the kitchen or tub faucet. He emailed me and said he thought he should get paid for all the detective work he did.  I decided I would send him another $50 until the new repairman said I should make Jack pay for the new kitchen and tub faucets that needed to be replaced.

  • They weren't to schedule, but once they arrived the work was done well. They listened to my wishes and followed through with was was estimated. They did have to come back to finish up one area, and I wasn't charged for the additional time taken.

  • To start out a man came out (Jason field manager) to give me a free estimate told me several times he would email me the breakdown of parts labor paint ect. We also made a tentative date to start the building of the ramp.#1 I never received an email nor a phone call to let me know they were going to be there. They DID show up at 8am on the date so I was happy about that but still didn't have the prices or breakdown that Jason said he would send to me. They were a bit tacky verbally I just ignored it and let them do there jobs. #2 When I went outside to look at how things were going as I did throughout the day I caught one of the men urinating on the side of my house and garden tools. I felt embarrassed and I didn't really know how to react I was shocked. So I went in to the house and called the manager he said he had a bad day got a flat and would be out in an hour, he was and was sorry for them and so on told me he would put in a 4x4 and put up my gate Mon. this was Friday the 5th of July, in exchange for there inappropriate behavior. I let him know at this time I still had not received the email with the price and breakdown yet he flipped though some paper's and I made sure to remind him I watched him write the correct email down. He didn't know what happened. He left. #3 I called my husband to let him know what was going on went outside and looked at where the guy was peeing and those two men had taken MY plywood that was set aside I bought two days earlier with tubes mounted on it for 4th of July it was used had soot or whatever on it. They unscrewed (8-10 screws) removed the tubes off and cut huge chunks of the board off and used it for the ramp. I believe that is destruction of property. At this point I finally got mad called Jason back let him know this he said he would have the guys bring us a new board. In the end Yes the job got done Should we be paying hundreds of dollars for people to cut up out things and pee on out houses no. So unfortunately I wouldn't feel comfortable going through them again.

Box 1772 Great Falls, MT  59403 (406)452-0672 Dear Jack: I got your memo dated October 18, 2005.  I am not sure if Donna relayed my telephone message when I called your office that day; but I felt slighted.  The notice left me with a cold, impersonal feeling.  Is it because you have been paid that we will no longer correspond by telephone or in person?  Long story short; I do not have the textured ceilings negotiated for on September 14, 2005.  Can you even believe that this “two to three day” project would have progressed into such a marathon?  It is stated in your documentation that your work is guaranteed to the purchasing customer to be free from defects in workmanship.  No offense to your wife, Carol, but the website assures that experts in home remodeling are used for these projects.  I do not believe that experts were used for my home repair.  I did not contract to have your wife clean my house.  I had all of the carpet in my home professionally cleaned days before the handyman service began.  There were no spots on the carpet, no paint overspray.  There were no drywall texture bits and pieces everywhere, and I do mean everywhere.  I did not receive a clean up to compare to the cleanliness of my home before the project started.  You know how clean my home was and stated so – it never should have gotten as dirty as it did.  Professionals should be cleaning up your messes – not your wife.  Just imagine my disappointment and frustration when I went to really clean the ceiling fans and discovered the “popcorn” texture left behind.  I removed and cleaned up the popcorn debris, cleaned the fans and called your office.  I asked that the areas, again, be textured, painted and for the fans to be reattached.  The job is still not complete, I discovered that the fans were reconnected without any texturing and paint was applied around the outside of the fixtures – I have to go back and also clean that off.  I cannot help but feel like I have been taken advantage of in this whole situation.  I have tried to respond to your memo over and over again.  I have gone through many different scenarios to try and express my thoughts but I do not believe that I will ever convey to you how betrayed I feel.  You spoke to me, I felt, like a daughter.  It does not feel that way now.  From the very beginning I have been apologizing for wanting work done like it was promised.  Lesson learned, to protect myself in the future, I will have to be more specific as to what is expected from contract services and get it all down in writing because something definitely got lost in my case with all the different conversations between you, Sean, Donna and me.  A smarter person, many have told me now, would pay when the work was actually done to my specifications and I would not still be cleaning up my home and my knock down ceiling texture would match my walls and I would not be obsessing about the mixture of various ceiling textures that exist today or the paint job that is incomplete.            Carol left me a telephone message that she found a replacement for my lamp fixture and it was $55.00.  She offered that I could be sent a check for the lamp or she would order a replacement.  I would like a check for the amount of the fixture; I do not want her to have to order a replacement.  The paint spill stain on the driveway can be worked on without my scheduling an appointment since it is outside.  Please schedule that as soon as possible with your crew.  I am now the president of the condo association so I will be following up to make sure that it does get removed because it reflects on the whole complex; and not just me.  As for the additional touchup work, which you stated I am owed, I would like you to come up with another type of compensation.  I can do the work myself with a couple gallons of paint and some of my money back.  I will not be using your services again.  I hope you understand.

  • Benigno did an excellent job at a really competitive price. He and his crew helped me with a fairly difficult and involved renovation of my row house. They added a bathroom on the second level and extended the flooring to close off a loft and complete a second bedroom. They handled electrical work, plumbing, drywall, tiling, and flooring installation very professionally and with a professional finish. Overall, great job.

  • Tony Renfro was completely unprofessional the entire time he worked for us. He consistently missed deadlines and changed his story about what he needed to do to complete the job. He constantly cursed in front of our daughter, fought with his staff, and had screaming fights on the phone with other clients. His work needed to be redone many times, including plumbing issues that he was unable to resolve. The trim work and paint work was sloppy and needed to be torn out and redone by another professional. The windows had to be removed and re-installed by a professional. In essence, all work completed by Tony Renfro fell apart shortly after he had completed it and needed to be fixed, repaired, or redone completely by better professionals.
