  • We hired Matt and 8/17 and started writing checks as he wanted to be paid upfront for materials. To date I have written $26,577.24 in checks total. The last check was written to him on 11/21/2017 and it is now February 2018. Total job was for almost $36,000. Contract stated $17,900 up front and $17,900 upon completion. So far I do have a new roof and he did fix the leak in my kitchen and do mud and texture but that job started almost 2 weeks after he promised to start with no responses to text messages after we paid a baby sitter over $300 to watch our twins and he never showed. I sent him an email 11/8/17 and threatened to fire him after his 3rd no show and no response and requested a refund so he promised to show. He felt bad and promised to install new light fixtures I didn't ask for (I paid for them, he installed). He is nice, charming and promises to do all these "extras" which can seem great at the time. I have requested written quotes on additional work that I need and never received, he just ball parks the figures and tells me I'll charge you around $x.00 or we'll work something out. Since November he abandoned my job until January to complete other projects (two out of town, several in town) and had multiple issues with his crew. He never arrives on time to the job site. I still do not have 4 of my windows or even proof he paid for them and the 6 he did order were the wrong size and he installed the front windows and they don't line up. He had his employee rip off the layers of asbestos and lap board siding and exterior trim off of my house and I had a 2 inch hole leading outside around my front door and a hole above my one year old son's crib that was not addressed by him for over a week and a half and I had to shove plastic bags into the openings to keep out the cold because he wouldn't answer my texts regarding that. His "crew" show up and "work" for 2-3 hours and now I am dealing with them stealing equipment from the job site and holding it hostage from him until he pays them! The job site is sloppy, we have dogs and there are nails and broken wood everywhere and they broke a basement window and didn't tell me. I have texted him 6 times this month and not once did he respond until I again threatened to fire him for failure to deliver supplies that I paid for - a $7816 siding check and a check for $3800 for windows. Last Wednesday he finally showed with siding and 6 of the 10 windows I paid for (again wrong size, supposed to be 72 * 32 and showed up with 63 by 34) and refuses to show me a receipt for them which I need for my tax return. He wanted $3000.00 more last week for materials and payroll and showed up at my work 2 times and yelled at me and threatened to leave doors and windows not installed unless I gave him the money. He also threatened to rip materials off of my home because I wouldn't give him more money. He started the siding on my house but it doesn't line up and is off by 2 inches and he is nailing at the top of the shingles instead of the nail line so all of the shingles are loose and also chipped where he cut them! He had some former employee barge into my living room this past weekend and get in a fight in front of my boyfriend and I, my 11 year old daughter, and my 1 year old twins which really upset my children and I. I found out he is not licensed or insured and never obtained any permits for my home. When I confronted him he told me I was supposed to get the permits, not him. There are things in the contract that he is charging for that haven't been done, such as installing rain gutters as my roof was done 4 months ago. Not ONE project he has started has been finished. A kitchen with no leak BUT cabinets were not rehung have GIANT BOXES in my kitchen and he left multiple tools all in a pile and the project was started in October (it is now February). He told me is tired of me threatening to fire him (I have threatened two times now including last week) and told me I should be grateful and texted me nonstop for almost a week demanding more money. Hopefully I will be able to get my materials but he won't tell me who he ordered through so I have no proof the materials are paid for or even ordered at this point. I am so tired of his excuses and just want the job done. He started installing siding and it is not lining up properly and I pointed it out to him and he doesn't see what I'm talking about even though on one side of the door the siding is 2 inches below the other side which I also have photos of. I looked him up on Angie's List and BBB after I started having major issues and see these other reviews so this is a pattern for him, not just the first time. Big mistake and one I will not make again. I have told him multiple times that his financial, staffing and equipment issues are not my problem, I am a customer. I plan on consulting with an attorney to find out what, if any, legal any recourse I may have; although if I take that route I am likely never going to see a penny of what I paid in advance refunded to me. Bottom line: Do NOT hire this guy unless you have no rush on your timeline and don't mind projects not being completed and want to throw money away. If you do, make sure to have him put a time frame on the contract and go with him to buy supplies. Do not be fooled by his promises to do extra work. On 2/4/2018 he swore up and down gutters would be installed and yesterday he did a no call, no show and of course materials are not there. The insurance job is $35,935.15 and I believe Matt owes me at least 10,000 for work paid for that was not completed. I have filed multiple complaints, will be filing a police report, and plan on taking him to court to wait in line for my money. I have multiple pictures of the incomplete work and hundreds of text messages including ones that tell me I am "screwing him" and being unreasonable. The employee he fought with at my home came back the next day and took 3 ladders and screamed at me that Matt has a gambling problem and owes him $1200! Update: I am firing Matt and hiring someone new. He does not have alicense, insurance or permits as per his own contract and the licenses he is trying to show me expired 4/2017 which I have confirmed through the state by calling and speaking to someone he referred me to talk to. I now have to pay someone else to finish the job.

  • Arranged to get an estimate for new gutters. Told them I could meet them anytime to allow for job site inspection/measurements. Said they didn't need to, that they would use satilite photos to measure. OK. A while later I did receive an estimate which after a couple of questions, I agreed to. Was told they would work on scheduling me in which should be about 2 weeks, but would let me know for sure. I never did hear back from them. I called, texted, and emailed them a few times, but never did get any sort of response

  • Sprague was GREAT. Work was done in a prompt and professional manner. The roof replacement took one day! We had to wait for siding to arrive from the supplier, but once it was in the siding was completed in as just a short amount of time. The gutter crew not only replace out gutters, they added an additional downspout to take care of the runoff from a long side of the roof! Our contact person was Gavin Gleich and he was ALWAYS in touch with us giving us updates. Jack Sprague and his company have our roofing business as long as we live here in Billings!

All 3 teams were very professional in their approach to their particular work project. They took pride in what they were doing. It was obvious throughout the project that our satisfaction was important to them. They were detail oriented making sure everything was square and matched perfectly.   • First I will say that when I first tried to contact them through their website, I never got a response. Then I tried through Angies list here as they had a coupon for setting up an appointment, there was not only no response but no coupon either. So i eventually called them and it took several tries because the phone number at the time went direct to the owner of the company who was traveling out of state working on repairs and it was a horrible connection so it took a few calls back and forth to get the information down. He did his best on that and eventually I had someone come out to look at the items and was told no problem and that a bid would be forthcoming. It took quite a bit longer than I expected and they wanted my paperwork and stuff so I give them that and then they had to work with the insurance company about some of the roofing material which they did with only slight delays. At this time is getting close to the cold part of the year so we were rushing to get it done before winter. I get my estimate and surprise its only the roof bid, which made me fairly uneasy and so I asked them and was told they wanted to keep the two items (insurance and other repairs separate on the bids) to make the paperwork easier. I was uneasy but went ahead with it and they came in and did the roof in two half days because of the weather and they did a fantastic job and I have no issues with my roof. That part of the job was great and efficient and everyone was happy. I was told by office staff that they PROMISED they would get out and finish my other work after the winter months were over. Fast forward a couple months and I start trying to contact them about coming in and giving me a bid for the rest of the work the PROMISED they would do. I get no response to emails for two months and finally I end up emailing the owner of the company and the guy who came into the field to work on my house and they tell me the office person who I was working with is no longer there but they will get the new person onto it and all will be well. That was 6 months ago. I have called and emailed through personal email and their website and phone calling to the point of it just being embarrassing of me begging to talk to the person in the office to get a written bid. Finally I had sent the final email saying they had five business days to get me some kind of response or I was going somewhere else. SO at the very last minute on a friday at like ten minutes until they close i get a small apology email with some puzzling questions as I had included all previous information in previous emails about what needed to be done and what had been done and what promises were made. Fast forward another month and a half of me sending two last emails begging for either a written estimate or just telling me that they were too busy. Thats all I asked, I needed a yes or no so I could either go ahead and wait for them or look for someone else. So here I sit with no answer and them basically avoiding me. Their work is excellent, The people are friendly when dealing with them in person and the field man is fantastic and he went above and beyond to try to help me but I have NO IDEA what in the world is going on in the office because they could care less about small jobs or even professional courtesy it appears to me. My advice is if you have one big project to call them otherwise go with someone else for your small projects because either they are too busy or there isn't enough profit in a small job, Im not sure but it took me a good 8 months or more from the time my roof was finished until today when I have finally had enough and will be looking for a different contractor.

  • The siding is AWESOME!!  The siding installer did a GREAT job and was very professional.   The Gutters are a different story.  Started off by the gutters being installed with white brackets (our gutters are a beige color.  When I pointed them out they seemed very irritated but did fix it.  The down spouts were to match the house.  Thank goodness I was home because they tried to put on the wrong color.  When I said no they were irritated again.  I was told by the installer they needed to order the correct ones.  I got a call from Joey stating no they would have the correct ones installed that afternoon.  When I got home the color looked good however when I went up to them the paint peeled right off.  They were not supposed to be painted.  I called and Joey just gave me the runaround and told me if that was the case they would have to order new material.  I told him then that was what he needed to do.  A week or so later the material came in and they installed the down spouts.  They are the cheapest down spouts I have ever ever seen.  My cheap builder downspouts that were 20 years old were much nicer.  Thanksgiving week my sister-in-law came around the corner in the front of our house slipped and fell on a patch of ice under the gutter.  Upon closer inspections they were leaking out the back end.  As the snow started to melt all the gutters were leaking out of the wrong ends and ice cycles were forming along all the edges, this never happened with my cheap old gutters.  Then I realized the downspouts were all frozen solid all the way up.  This had never happened before.  I called and left no less than 5 message for someone to call me back and no one did.  Finally the first week of January my neighbor and I both fell in the same spot in front of my house under a gutter.  I have taken videos and pictures al along.  I called again and finally the next day someone called me.  Joey was so rude and disrespectful.  He said he would send someone out,  not thing was done and I have gotten no response at all.  I wrote a letter to the owner and have never gotten a response.  I have had several people ask me how I like Lynrich and I will NOT give a good review.  This job was done 6 months after promised, I was promised March but did not have a problem with some delay and expressed it needed to be complete by mid June at the very latest, (we put a large deposit down in October 2014 and the work was not completed until October 2015 and as far as I am concerned still not completed.  This has been a horrible experience and dealing with Joey is the absolute worst part.  Then after sending a letter explaining everything, not to even get a follow up call or letter is inexcusable.   I hope no one else falls into this situation.  I have no problem with things going wrong if they are fixed and in a professional manner.

  • It went very poorly:
    1. Refused to do work that they initially represented. They said they would do all the work covered by the insurance quote. A few weeks later they came back and said they would only do the roof, facia, and gutters, so I had to reserve some of the insurance money out for that work and start looking for a second contractor. 
    1. 2. Started two months later than promised. They said they would start 2-3 weeks later which was critical to us because we were preparing to move. It was 2 and half months before they began. We were out of the house by then and facing the prospect of putting the house on the market while under construction. 
    2. 3. Stopped work before completion and demanded a progress payment, contrary to original promises. They said they would handle all quotes and communication directly with the insurance company. They said they would take payment solely from the insurance money, and that they would get the all insurance payments issued before doing work, so we would only ever pay the deductible out of pocket. This was important to us because we were in the middle of a move. They did not do any of these. They tore the gutters off, started into the facia project and then suddenly stopped and asked for full $14,800 payment for the roof. I asked if they had received their approval and supplemental payment from the insurance company. He said they hadn't done that yet. I asked if he had finished the work. He said no, he was "out of cash to pay my guys, and to pay for material" so we need early payment. This was obviously a huge red flag. I asked him to please get his bids approved by my insurer and then we would pay him in full. 
    3. 4. Overstatement of Work to Insurance and Fraud Investigation. Singh represented to my insurance company that they had wrapped the whole house's facia in metal, when in fact they had replaced facia boards in three spots. The insurance company flagged the expensive metal wrapping quote and asked if that had actually been done. I reported it was not, which then triggered a fraud investigation from my insurance company. I had to handle all communication with my insurer from then out and had to return to the home and take photos for the insurers investigation. This delayed supplemental payment another two months. 
    4. 5. Harassing behavior from Singh. While my insurer had yet to approve any of Singh's work and was in process of investigating him for fraud, Singh demanded full payment immediately through phone calls to my wife on weekend nights and from unlisted numbers. 
    5. 6. Unlawful lien. Though the work is incomplete, and my home sits without gutters and with damaged paint exposed and with unpainted facia boards, Singh filed a lien. Though we assured him full payment in writing from insurance proceeds as he had agreed, he grew paranoid and liened our house. Liens are not lawful unless the work is complete. 
    6. 7. Backed out of settlement. Though very frustrated with them and with none of their work yet cleared by our insurer we paid a $5,000 advanced payment--something not owed under our agreement, but which was made in hopes of stopping the hostile, offensive tactics being used by Singh. In spite of the good faith measure, he still liened the house. Hoping to avoid legal action against them for the damage, we reached a settlement last week. Well, the next day Singh backed out, refused to settle, and demanded full payment from our personal funds or he would sue us. Keep in mind, our insurance still hadn't approved anything he had done, and was still investigating apparent fraud by them before issuing the money to cover this work.

    His broken promises has cost us dozens of hours and has been extremely stressful. I have since found several people that have a very similar story working with Singh. Now I am trying to sell a liened home with no gutters and have had to juggle an insurance company investigation of Singh in the meantime. Legal action may be necessary to remove the improper lien for incomplete work.
    Singh has denied any wrongdoing. At all. They don't even acknowledge the two month late start. Their handling of this has cost me thousands in my own lost work time. It has likely cost us thousands more in the poor presentation of our home during sale. 
    Sorry I chose them. Wish I would have done more homework. This is the first time I have ever given a negative review on any contractor. I do hope it prevents similar heart ache for others.

  • We had hail damage over one year ago.  There was so much damage in Billings that the work was done when we came up on their list.  They did a great job and were very responsive to my phone
