Bathtub Refinishing reviews in Billings

  • I am very pleased with the entire project. The tile grout was old and cracked in several places. Water was leaking behind the shower area and dripping down to the room below. If I wanted to have the tile replaced and the wall repaired it would have involved at least five different visits from workers and the tub unusable for at least three weeks. Ron and Collen with Front Range Bath came to my house the afternoon I called them. Ron looked at the work that needed to be done and assured me it would only take one day to complete. And it did. The liner they installed is beautiful and no more leaks. He removed the old shower door and installed curtain hardware. My bathroom looks three feet bigger. Ron and Collen took great care to protect my floors and cleaned up the work area when finished. I am very happy with Front Range Bath, will recommend them to friends and will hire them again.

  • Front Range focuses on tub and shower work. It is owned by a couple, Ron and Colleen Vestal, who have done this work for many years. I called on a Sat morning thinking I would get voicemail and they would come early the following week, which is my experience with contractors in general. To my surprise, Ron Vestal answered the phone and since I was going to be available, they came to my house on Saturday afternoon to discuss the requirements, show me samples, and give me a bid. I had done some homework online, and Front Range did have one review on Angie's List which was also favorable.
I had done some homework. We determined their bid would not be the least expensive, but they were very thorough in the options and in explaining their focus, the work required, approach, and how long it would take. They also helped us choose the options (added value options such as grab bars, shelves, etc). They are knowledgable and you feel that you can depend on them.
We decided to have them do the work, and they did a very good job, and finished when they said they would (half day, if they started at 8 AM). They were clean and very little was left for us to tidy up after they left.
Front Range has a trailor with everything they need to use to do the job. Our job required standard surround material and so they had this in stock. Turnaround was quick. If a surround is more custom, then they will need to order some material. This adds to time to get job done. I do not think they compromise on quality based on my experience.
We recommend them highly as an excellent resource for the work they focus on. Front Range focuses on tub and shower renovation. If your need a complete bathroom renovation, or if you need items installed such as shower fan, they do not do this and are honest about it. They did do this type of work at one time, but decided to focus more narrowly in their current business based on what I understand. I would not hesitate to recommend them for the work they do.

  • Ron Vestal and his wife Coleen arrived promptly as scheduled. While Coleen showed me samples of various tub liners, Ron took precise measurements of the bathtub and surrounding walls. He then calculated the total cost and presented it to me. They showed me a list of references, some from people I knew. I had already talked with one of them about her experiences with the Vestals and she recommended them highly, so I did not hesitate to give Ron a check for the required deposit of $500. About a week later, he called to say that the factory had shipped my liners and he was ready to begin the work.

Since the weather was cold and there was still snow on the ground, Ron set up his equipment in the garage. He then began the tear-down, removing the faucet and pulling the old liner off the wall. Once he had prepared the surface, he cut the new liner to fit and installed it. The bathtub also received a new liner. Two safety grips were installed and two shelves for soap and shampoo. The work began around 8:30 in the morning and finished around 5 p.m.

I was cautioned not to use the tub/shower for 24 hours to allow the glue to set properly. The new linings are very attractive and have held up well over the past two years. The safety grips have been very useful and I'd recommend adding them to any bathroom remodel.

Ron has many years of experience as a general contractor and does meticulous work. When my former husband saw the results, he hired the Vestals to do the same work in his bathroom in 2011 and also to remodel a basement bathroom. He was very pleased with their work.
