    Joel McGregor
Joel constructed a beautiful and solid deck that we will enjoy for many years to come. It has a lovely finished railing and sturdy handrails for the stairs. As for the building process itself: Joel arrived promptly and on time to give estimate. He provided a timely, itemized and reasonable estimate when he said he would. He arrived promptly and on time daily with all needed tools, supplies and equipment. He produced an exquisitely perfect product on time and on budget. He cleaned up after the job and left everything in excellent shape. In my book, thats a ten on a ten scale folks.

I hired this company back in 2014 to remove fiberglass shower and replace with tile. Worst mistake I ever made. They did a horrible job. Tile uneven, gaps between tiles and it leaked all the time. It was so bad I had to have it redone, which costs another $7000 on top of what already paid them. So over all ended up paying $10,000 to just tile a small shower.

From the time I called in my work order to Dani, the project manager called me back very quickly and was able to get a tech out and get my estimate. Pricing was reasonable and that I am very pleased with the work, and the process was easy and quick. The Project Managers called the whole time the was being done to reassure we were pleased with the progress.

The quality of work is very good. The issue I had was poor communication and an excessive length of time to finish the job. Its a couple working together and I dont know if it was the small size of the job or just poor communication. They had problems getting a roofer to come check the area of leak repair. Numerous promises to get it done were unfilled. This process took since mid march. Which for the small size of the project is just rediculous. So timeliness was a big issue and delayed my getting my house on the market for over a month. So quality yes, but communication and speed, no. They are both nice people, just don't be in a hurry.

Overall things went well, and I am happy with how the work turned out.  There was a bit of miscommunication in that the first day the handyman sent by the business owner showed up and was not entirely aware of exactly what I needed done; he was driving a little sporty car and did not have a ladder to do the tall jobs.  But, he came back within two days and the jobs got done.  I don't know that I got an entire 6 hours of work, but to have someone take care of those "little things" saved me a lot of frustration.

UPDATE 9/18: They did finally come and complete the service they promised.  The work was well done and looks good.  The owner states that he came out several times to look at the project and that his worker got in an accident last weekend.  I understand all of that, I just wished that he would have communicated this to me so I knew that he wasn't just blowing me off.  A little communication goes a long way.  Anyway, job is done. Payment is on the way.

Well they came to my house over 2 months ago and gave me a quote of $150.00 to fix a piece of facia and a dryer soffit vent.  I also got a quote to have a cover built for my boat. They came back one time to measure and cut the piece of facia.  And were in constant contact about building the boat cover.  When I declined on the boat cover, they disappeared. And that was it.  Never heard from them again.
I have sent at least 4 emails and have gotten responses like "I have been slammed with work the past several weeks.  I will send one of my associates to fix your fascia and vent hole.  I'm sorry but you got lost in the shuffle.  Let me line someone up and it will be within the week hopefully depending on weather." - 1 month ago
Then I emailed again giving them the benefit of the doubt and I got this in reply. "I have Neil scheduled for the weekend to fix your fascia and soffit. We are looking for the right pattern size soffit. It is not at the depot or lowes."
Now the weekend has come and gone and no one has been to my house.  I know that the dryer vent is not available at lowes or I would have fixed it myself.  We already had that conversation but I understand how he could have forgotten since it was over 2 months ago.
I would never use this company again.  I would rather they just said we are not coming out again then make me wait and put off having these items fixed.  If you say you are going to fix it, you should fix it.  Bad business, bad customer service.  Would not recommend.  Don't know why they are even on Angie's List.

    Handyman House Techs LLC
It started out great but went downhill very quickly. We ended up firing the company because the workers stole from us, but that was just the final straw in a long list of things that they did. As of right now, only half of our house has been repaired because this company has hired a lawyer to attempt to get almost $7000 from us for work that they didn't perform and materials they did not use. Because of this we were forced to hire a lawyer and have to pay for that out of pocket with money that we don't have. We are also in limbo until this is resolved and we settle with Handyman House Techs so we will know how much money we have to finish our repairs.
Here is just a short list of some of the things this company attempted to do to us to cut corners and be dishonest in order to put more money in their pockets.
    The original estimate included:
Removing all interior doors, trim and baseboard and replacing with new. They tried to only replace the actual doors and not the trim and baseboard.
Remove laminate flooring that was wet throughout house and an old glued down parquet floor in the living room. They were going to just cover the old parquet floor up with carpet because getting the old floor up was going to be too time consuming.
The main bathroom was supposed to be gutted completely down to the studs and have the new mold/mildew resistant sheetrock installed. They were only planning to replace the bottom four feet with new and were going to keep the old stuff on the upper walls and ceiling.
We were supposed to have top of the line carpet installed and the estimate allotted $3000 for carpet and installation but when the time came for them to install the carpet we found out that they ordered cheap $700 carpet instead. When we refused to let them install this cheap carpet they told us that if we wanted nicer carpet that we would have to have buy it ourselves and have it installed. (Because we had been out of our house for over two weeks living in a hotel, we had no option but to buy carpet out of pocket so we could get back into our house.)
Because we have paneling in the kitchen and there is no way to just replace the bottom four feet of paneling, we were supposed to have the entire kitchen gutted and sheetrock put up. After talking with the guys doing the work we found out that they planned to just put sheetrock up over the paneling.
These are just a few examples of the shady practices that Handyman House Techs did in an effort to cut corners and put more money in their pockets.
The plan was to have them do all the work on the Living room, bedrooms and bathrooms while we were out of the house and then move pack in while they worked on the kitchen, laundry room and the outside of the house. After they finished the living side of our home and we moved back in we found that all of our liquor was GONE. Nearly $500 worth of alcohol and two 12 packs of soda were gone and they were the ONLY people who had a key to our house besides us.
At this point my wife and I had had enough and we fired this company and requested a final bill to settle up with them. We expected to maybe owe them a couple of thousand dollars more than what we had already paid them, but to our surprise they were billing us for another $7000. Even though our mortgage company had an inspection done on our home and determined that the work was 50% done, Handyman House Techs claimed that they had done 70% and were charging us for it. They also were charging us for over $2000 worth of material that was never used in our home. We we requested all the invoices so we could see exactly what material they were charging us for, they refused to give them to us. We had to have our mortgage company get involved in order for us to get them. Once we did, we saw exactly why they were charging us for so much on the material. They were trying to get us to pay for TOOLS that they bought, some to do the work on our house, but many that had NOTHING to do with the work we were having done. There was also several invoices for several hundred dollars each that were dated for well over a week before they ever set foot in our house to start doing any work.
Dealing with this company has been a nightmare. From the broken promises to the unfair business practices and even having the owner of the company get on the phone and curse me out when I refused to pay for his workmen to buy tools at my expense.
At this point it is still not resolved, half of our house is still not repaired from flooding a year ago, and we live everyday wondering if we will be taken to court or have an unwarranted lien placed on our house.
I should also mention that after we fired them, it was brought to our attention by the City of Ocean Springs Building Dept. that they failed pull a permit on our job. They City fined them at triple what the normal permit fee would have been and Handyman later included this fine on our invoice, trying to pass that cost on to us. The City also informed us that this was the third time this company had been caught doing work without pulling the proper permits.

PROMISED BUT DONand quot;T DELIVER ! I contacted Handyman House techs to have a handrail installed on a set of outdoor steps at my house. and quot; Can you do it within a week?and quot; and quot;Oh yes sirand quot; they answered. A week later, on a Monday, they call and say we'll be there on Friday at noon . Then I have to call them for the estimatel. It's $300 for parts, and the labor is $300. But this isn't binding. it may be more. THis seems excessive, however, I need to have the handrail installed. So I say OK. Do I have to be there when the handrail is installed? No they say, you just have to come at the end to give the technician a check.
TAKE OFF AFTERNOON OF WORK FOR NOTHING: So, on friday, I take off the afternoon from work to be here to pay the guy. I get home, and he's not here. I call the office, leave a message. No answer. I call again, 15 minutes later, and get told they will call me right back. 25 minutes aft er that, they have not called me. Finally, I call again and am told by the and quot;project managerand quot; that the parts to do the work won't be in for 2 weeks.
THE PROJECT MANAGER WHO IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROJECT: the project manager then tells me that she can't check to see that the technicians have project ready. and quot; That's the technician's joband quot; she tells me. I tell the project manager that I will find someone else todo the work -- obviously they are not interested. Never once did she apologize. Never once was she responsible. Never once did she think to call me at work and say hey, we can't make it. Rather, they leave me to call them, and act like it's problem.
IN FAIRNESS: in fairness, I can't speak to the quality of the work. It may well be high quality. However, I know that this company's ability to organize and coordiante the work is very poor.
LAST CHUCKLE: in my original phone call to the folks, I asked them to price intstalling a toilet. THey still have gotten back to me on that one. Probably my lucky day.

Dave was awesome. He came to do an estimate and was prepared to do work on the same day. He even fixed my dishwasher, which was not part of the deal, while he waited for me to arrive and confirm estimate. I did not end up using him for the planned work projects, only because of a better price offer. However, I would highly recommend him and keep him in mind for the future.

I emailed Handyman Housetechs for an estimate. I received a phone call within a couple of hours. Cathy was very courteous, professional and cheerful. She said she would have someone come out to give me a free estimate at my convenience. Levi arrived at the appointed time for the estimate. He was very clean cut, polite and professional. He gathered pricing for materials and I received an estimate the next day. In the meantime I had received a call from their office asking if everything went ok and if there were any questions to please contact them. Levi returned a couple of days later exactly on time and ready to work. He installed two ceiling fans and installed fencing to the back corners of my property. I couldn't be more please with his work! The total was very close to estimate as the cedar fencing ran just a bit more than the lower quality material. If you want someone you can trust at a fair price that does a large range of tasks, Handyman Housetechs are the way to go!
