  • called Stanley Steamer to clean my mothers carpet for her birthday. We were out of area and they said they couldn't come out till they had enough houses so I allowed them to clean our business office and my tile floor at my own home a total of $878 dollars for all 3 homes and they agreed it was worth that to come out. After they cleaned the carpet in my mothers home Seisl carpet (I asked them if this type of carpet could be steamed. Allison and the cleaning crew said yes, they did it all the time) as it dried it began to shrink and ripple up and pull away from the walls and the seams were buckeling. We called them that day and they sent the cleaning crew back to my mothers home to look at it at around 4 PM on 9-9-08 they agreed that it was shrinking and that their manager Chad would have to come out. I called Allison the sales person and office manager and she assured me that Chad would be out but he was on vaccation until Monday. He came out Tuesday the 16th and looked at the carpet he said it had shrunk from a reaction to the heated steam and that he would send a repair crew to try and restretch it. The repair crew came the following Thursday 9-18-08 and tried to repair the carpet. We were not satisfied with the repairs, as they were unable to restretch the carpet where it looked nice and it was all rippled up still. We told them we were not satisfied. They said that was all they could do they were just the repair crew. So we called Allison and we told her that it didn't work and we were unsatisfied with the attempted repair she said she would have Chad call us he was not in and couldn't say when he would call or what day he would be avaliable that he was very busy. We were very upset. I faxed a copy of the reciept what we had paid for the carpet on 8-11-06 total $6390.00 and got a requote from the same place for replacement today total $7482.85 and faxed it to Allison who said that the information would be appreciated. The following day 9-19-08 the repair crew showed up unexpectedly I called Allison and asked why they were there and she said chad had called to say that he thought they could repair it better. I asked the repair crew if they thought they could make it look better and stretch the carpet more and they said no and that chads boss told chad to send them back to make repairs. I told the guys that unless they thought they could do better then there was no use in moving all the furniture and redoing it if it wasn't going to look any better. The guys agreed and I asked them to leave I was very upset and my mother more so. SO I called Allison and explained to her that my mother and I were very upset and that the crew said they did the best they could on the 18th to fix it and were unable to stretch the carpet more. She said that Chad sent them for a reason and I said: Why if they can't fix it? I explained to her I wanted Chad to come and see the carpet in person and tell me what they could do about it. He did not, so I contacted the BBB.
