  • On June 27th, 2014, I had Bobo's to come and tow my van to their shop for repairs. I had already spoken with one of the mechanics, prior, and had explained to him that there was a serious short, somewhere, in the electrical system. With the engine running, when I turned on the headlights, the vehicle would die, and would not re-crank. Also, after it died, none of the lights or interior electronics, except for the dash gauges, would come on. They picked up the vehicle that Friday afternoon, around 11:00am. I called them on the following Tuesday, and was told by the head guy, that they have not even looked at it. I tried to explain to him that it was the only vehicle that we owned and we needed it back ASAP. He told he was short handed and since everyone was leaving for vacation, that Wednesday, he probably wouldn't look at it until the following week. Again, I informed him as to what the problem was. The following week, around Tuesday, I called them back and was told that they had replaced the fuel pump and it was ready for pickup. I asked him about the shorting issue and he told me that he did not know anything about an electrical problem, even though they had been told twice about it. First of all, I was not having a fuel pump problem, so there probably was no need to replace it. They did not call me and tell me anything about replacing the fuel pump, before doing it; they just took it upon themselves to replace it and charge $256.00 for that. Well, two days later they call me and inform me that the van is fixed and ready for pickup. I got a ride to Bobo's and after paying them, they gave me the key. I went to my van, cranked it up, turned on the headlights, and it died. I walked back into the shop and told him that it was NOT fixed. Again, he said that he did not know that it had an electrical problem (they had been told, three different times). So, my van sat there, outside the shop, in the same exact spot, until the following Monday. I called them Monday morning and was told that the head guy was going to work on it, right after lunch. I was told to call back on Wednesday morning. When I called back, I was told that everything was fixed and it would cost an additional $150.00 (to finally fix the original and only problem). I went and got my van and when it cranked and did not die after turning on all the lights, I drove off and went home. I decided to go somewhere later and when I tried to lower the passenger window, it would not lower. Furthermore I discovered that the AC fan would not come on either. I called Bobo's and told the head guy what was happening and he told me that the only thing that they checked, after repairing the short, were the lights. He did not check all electrical systems to make sure everything was working and that was not very professional. He wanted me to bring it back down, leave it so they could find and fix the problem, and charge me more money. This experience taught me that Bobo's is not run professionally or responsibly and they made me feel as if I were being treated as a 2nd class citizen. My old van did not look good enough, nor was it new enough to merit immediate, responsible, and complete attention.

  • I was on a 7.5 hour trip, not familiar with Jackson MS when my car started over-heating,coolant spraying all over, could not drive car,
BP station recommended Car Care Clinic who answered my call, arranged the tow to their facility, found water pump was bad,the manager, David Jones, stayed over to see that my service was completed, the clinic was very busy that day, they had to squeeze my service in,since I am an older single woman traveling alone I really appreciated the outstanding service thanks to Mr Jones.

  • Even though this was done two years ago, I still feel strongly about this company.  I dropped off a car with an intermittant problem during accelleration.  After 4 days in the shop, there was NO diagnosis.  Each time I tried to ask the owner what was going on, what are you trying now, and when can I get the car back (I needed to get back to Calif.), I was rudely treated.  At one point he threatened to haul the car outside the fence and leave it there!  I had to get my elderly uncle to go try to talk to him.  Now, my uncle is a retired school teacher.  He has lots of patience.  Kim Hammond (owner) even mad *him* angry.
The car just had a brand new engine and fuel injection, and "brain" installed in Fort Bragg, CA by a very reliable mechanic.  Kim Hammond refused to talk to my CA mechanic, even when my mechanic called him to try to help troubleshoot the intermittant problem.
I got the car home, and had my CA mechanic look at it.  The new "brain" was gone.  The fuel injection system & "brain" had been replaced with one off a different year & model car.  So had the speed sensor in the transmission...  WHAT???  Why was Kim's Automotive messing with my transmission??
The intermmittant problem was a fuel diaphram that was faulty.  I don't have a correct speedometer any more; can't get the original back, can't get another one for my car - they don't make the sensors any more.
