Auto Repair reviews in Wentzville

  • My son's 2006 Hyundai Tiburon check engine light came on. I had him call Fred's Auto Care in Wentzville to set up a time to check it out. Fred's managed to get him in that day and diagnosed the problem. It turned out to be a simple emission fix. They only charged $28.00 for this repair. Fred's has serviced all my families vehicles for the last 4 years. I have never had any problems with their work. They don't "up sell" unnecessary work and are very honest. I will continue to have them do all my automotive repair work.

  • Fred's started with the cheapest thing to try and save me money, and work our way up from there! The only trouble, was they seem to be such a hot place to get your car repaired that you have to wait a while for your vehicle to be serviced. The parking lot is full, so this could mean one of two things.. they are either really good, or they need to hire more staff, I suppose only time will tell. My experience with them overall however was pleasant, I felt as though they had my best interest at heart and not their wallets! In the end, after fixing 4 different things (serpentine belt, thermostat, water pump, coil pack), we got the light off and the car to pass inspection. I do not fault them for this as I know one thing can lead to another and that is part of troubleshooting, again, I was happy with the service. I even just called them again today to get the breaks replaced on my other vehicle, however the wait was going to be well over a week before they could look at it... I didn't have that kind of time.

  • Perfect as always!!
I have been a customer for many years & I cannot say enough good things about the Wentzville, MO location.  I feel special when I do business with them and I feel like I am in a 'safe' place as far as being able to trust them to only do what is necessary and never try to over sell.  They know me by name and always take as much time as I need to feel good about the care my car is getting.
    Thanks Guys!!

  • First of all, I researched many companies and I found the reviews for Cottman were great.  I also spoke to Jeff who who took the time to explain everything involved in detail.  Every aspect of the process was done professionally.  Where they could save me money, they did.  I was very impressed and would highly recommend them.  Excellent job Jeff and Ted!

  • I've been using Ruder for years and every time they astound me more and more. Ranging from taking in a Cadillac Review in which Cadillac Dealer wanted $1900 for repairs which they completed for $900 to my recent work in which they had quoted $2400 for new parts/suspension and suggested I instead purchase a new vehicle (nice to hear considering they would have been the benefactors of me repairing the car).  After thought and consideration we decided to fix the vehicle and David Ruder worked to get some used parts to fill the need and suggested going that route saving me over $1300 dollars. Vehicle has run great and I've referred many others because they repair what needs to be done in an effective manner instead of having you do things that don't really need to be done.

  • They’re the best – especially for women. They tell you exactly what’s wrong with your car and they quote you a good price. Their prices are typically below other companies and they don’t mess around. They’re worth the trip. They’ll save you hundreds of dollars.  They’ll even find a part for you at a good price. My whole family uses them as well.

  • Took our 2001 Chevrolet Impala to Christian Brothers for Missouri State inspection. Having moved from a state that does not require vehicle inspections we were not clear on what was going to be required and needed to bring the car up to standards to pass the required inspections. We had taken the vehicle to several mechanics prior to our move and after many attempts and dollars spent, were no further along in identifying and correcting the problem.  Used Angie's list to locate a repair shop and found Christian Brothers. We called Christian Brothers and explained our situation, then decided to give them a try after reading several positive reviews.
The Impala had an oil leak, check engine light, and an electrical short causing the battery to die within 24-36 hours. The mechanic at Christian Brothers inspected the car and gave us a detailed list of all items that needed repaired. They told us what had to be fixed to pass inspection and what additional repairs needed to bring the car up to a reliable car for my son to drive. We decided to have all the repairs done, although it was going to be expensive but we wanted a safe reliable car. Christian Brothers replaced the rocker arm cover gaskets fixing the oil leak, replaced the leaky intake gasket, repaired a broken/charred wiring harness that solved the battery dying and check engine light, and replaced tie rod ends, and replaced (no charge) fuel regulator.
It has been 5 months since the repairs and the car has given us zero problems. We could not be happier with the quality of work performed at Christian Brothers.  They are thorough, reliable and stand by their word.  We are planning to use them on the Dodge truck in the near future.

  • They are fabulous. I never fully trusted or felt that I was getting a great value from a mechanic shop, until I start using these guys. They are awesome. There's no need to ever think about going anywhere else, they are not a whole of fame but they should be. They give fair estimates, their fast turnaround, and the work is done and complete, it's not like you get problems. When Jeremy says you need something done or whatever has you, he does it, you pay him, and it's over. He knows what he is doing, they are highly trained.

  • Been going to Mike for 5 years. He is very honest and stands behind his work. Ive had inspections done......u-joints replaced....new shocks.....new tires.....oil changes......you name it and I've had it done at Mike's facility.....the work is always done professionally and in a timely manner...and he stands behind all of his work.. He DOES NOT tell you something needs to be fixed if it doesn't ......VERY HONEST..and the prices are very reasonable....... I highly recommend Mike's for all of your automotive needs.

  • They provided wonderful service and punctuality. They took me to a local restaurant while I waited for the repairs to finish, called me when the repairs were complete and picked me up shortly thereafter. The owner was very kind and gave me a coupon for my wait.
