AAbsolute Masonry & FoundationJim and his team came out to take care of a growing crack and small footing/structural issue on our entryway. Though it was generally tough to get anyone to show up, they came out, bid and began work within 2 weeks of first contact which was appreciated. While working on our house they also completed some extra repairs on a cracked archway for our front door, more repointing on the face of the house and the chimney and I hired them to help put on our chimney caps - a project I had been told a half dozen times "couldn't be done" because of the style of our flue or contractors would disappear on me. They spent the time to do their best to match the mortar color to our historic home's mortar color. No mix is going to be a 100% match because of various factors (including age), but of the two times we've had masons out to do repairs their initial mortar mixing was pretty spot on in color and texture. Our most problematic area ended up cracking slightly again after repairs, but Jim had one of his guys back out to repoint the area again. This time with a slightly different color, but without extra charge. Overall Jim's team did an excellent job, addressed any concerns I had and made sure the job was done properly to preserve the historic nature of our home as best as possible.- Jesse F.

AAbsolute Masonry & FoundationGreat work; did a thorough job of repairing front porch red brick steps/stoop that were literally falling apart in pieces. The crew cleaned old mortar from existing bricks and reused all that were salvageable. Did not rush the job, and left the area clean afterwards. Owner stayed in communication throughout the project, immediately notified me when there would be a delay due to circumstances beyond his control (weather, staff out sick). Price bid for project was reasonable, certainly worth the quality of work done. Would certainly hire again and refer to others.- Monica B.

They had to replace broken stones, the chimney crown and cap. They also sealed the entire chimney to ensure there will be no water leaks. AThe job itself was good. Mind you I have a 70yr old concrete foundation, on a hill where the water from the back yard and the upper street hits the back of my house. Lots of water. I had Beaver put in peering on the East and South side of the house. No leaks and they did a great job. Had a few issues on the north side once the South side was fixed. You fix one thing and something else breaks. To remedy the North side issue, Beaver Foundation put in a sump pump. All in all they did a great job. It took longer than I would have liked, but I would use them again. The crew was nice and friendly, worked hard and dealt with me on all my pickyness and stupid questions.

Seth climbed and removed a large dead limb from a difficult-to-get-to big maple tree, trimmed the remaining dead wood from other parts of the tree, and removed dead wood from a large oak in the front yard. The results were excellent. He and his helper arrived on time, did excellent work, cleaned up all debris, and left no trace that they had been there. These guys are the best!

CThe company did not provide a quote. I made it clear to the salesperson up front I was looking for competitive bids (to try to save time on the bidding process) on Provia exterior doors and was more or less told by the salesperson that they don't sell to price-conscious clientele and they don't repair doors because they don't want the headaches. By the reviews, I'm sure they are a great company, but with such an attitude and not even willing to bid the work (been a couple of weeks now), that is not likely a company I would want to work with anyway as it appears to me they don't want customers that might be demanding or actually have expectations on price or quality, and high price does not always mean good quality in my experience with the trades. The salesperson was nice and spent a fair amount of time explaining why they don't need my business. I've never been in that kind of position, but more power to them and I wish them well. I'd give an F for the smug and unhelpful company attitude who doesn't need my business and an A for at least coming and explaining why they don't need my business which is why I'm giving them at least a C for half-hearted effort.
