    Do not hire these guys. I spent $700.00 with them to stop a leak above my fireplace. They said they guaranteed their work, they guarantee that the leak will stop. Their fix consisted of: "Flash Seal" and "Crown Coat" to seal up the cracks in my crown. He said the guarantee was good for 7 years to stop the leak. It did not. One week later we had another rain storm and water is coming out the front of my fireplace stones. They came back and quickly inspected it and they now said it was my gutters. I said: "How can the front of my chimney stones be getting wet in my living room from my gutters? The chimney is not on the wall where water could flow in from gutters!" He tried to tell me my gutters were all wrong and that's why it was still leaking. I told him: "I sell gutters for a living and I know all about them. It's not my gutters." He got really mad at this, I guess because he knew he couldn't sell me another lie. He then stormed off and said: "You can sue me Lady!" And off he went. I had another fireplace company come out and he said they should have put a cricket on that chimney, lifted the roof tiles and installed the flashing properly. All they did was slap some tar on your roof. They really did not solve your problem, The leak is coming from your flashing!" Meanwhile, I'm out $700.00, so I guess I will have to take him to court to get my money back!

    Chimney was not entirely cleaned and company said that a fire could happen in our house if we did not tuckpoint some interior portions immediately. We had a second and third opinion, both said that indeed there was some work to be done, but no, it would not start a fire and their quote were both a 1/3 of what we were quoted.

    The crew came out to sweep the fireplace and found it in disrepair. The "owner" of the company came out the next day to provide and estimate on how much it would cost to repair the chimney and he (the "owner" of the company) sexually harassed me and told me that he would do the work for time and materials if I went out on a "date" with him. I will not be doing business with this company.

    Excellent, as always. We've been using Clean Sweep since we bought our house and couldn't be happier. They remind me to schedule each year. Victor's always great - clean, efficient, and friendly.

    Tony Schmitt, the repairman, found that our fireplace was putting out a great deal of carbon monoxide...the most he had ever seen. Initially, he thought we would need a new fireplace, but took time to investigate further.  He went outside and checked the chimney and found that the cap of the chimney was too small and not venting properly.  I told him that, after a tornado, we had a new roof and chimney cap installed.  The company that installed the cap had done it improperly.  It could have killed us.  Luckily, there was some kind of smell that alerted me to the problem.  It wasn't the carbon monoxide as it does not smell.  I'm very grateful that Tony found the real problem and didn't just put in a new fireplace.  
    I highly recommend this company and will use them for all chimney needs.  I don't know why they are not listed under chimney sweeps on Angie's list.

    The inspector gave a diagnosis in about five minutes.  He said the damper in the chimney didn't work.  He removed the bricks and everything else in the chimney fell down.  The damper was from 1950 and bent from all the bricks.  He took the damper to a welder and brought it back.  It looks brand new and works perfectly.  He replaced and rebuilt firebox.  It was a very time consuming process.  He and his assistant spent 10 hours on project.  They were able to complete it in one day because he was so busy and didn't want to make me wait till other projects were done.  He called me the next day to make sure it was satisfactory.  It absolutely was.  They are a new business and trying to gain customers.  I would highly recommend them, as they are very hard working, honest and couteous.  I had him work on my house as well.

    Provider arrived early, scheduling was easy, Jake came out to our house and left everything very clean.  The results of the inspection were slightly different than we heard before (another provider had tried to sell us a $3,000 flue liner).  I felt that Jake was honest and detailed in his work, he answered all of my questions, was friendly, clean, professional and nice to my nosey dog. Turns out the flu is not cracked and we do not need a flue liner.

    Wow, where to begin.  When I spoke with Eric yesterday, he made room in his schedule to come to my house this morning at 7am.  He and his son were spot on time, introduced themselves, made friends with our dog, and immediately went to work.  Eric had told me the 7am time was important because he had made a commitment to be way out in the county at 9am. 
    It's been a long time since I have dealt with two such knowledgeable service professionals.  The two of them diagnosed, within ten minutes, the problem at hand (which was not the flue, incidentally, it was clear; the problem was much more complicated), explained everything clearly without talking down to me, and then proceeded to fix the part of the problem that was not the furnace for me.  This involved John jumping in his truck, racing to the hardware store and back to re-vent my hot water heater, disconnect it from a faulty venting system with the furnace, using the proper size venting pieces. 
    The two of them were an honest father-and-son team (they could have charged me to clean the flue and I wouldn't have known it did not need cleaning), efficient (they came at 7am, diagnosed and fixed the problem with recommendations for our next steps, and were on their way to their 9am commitment on time--that included a run to the hardware store a few miles away), and clean (not one spot of dirt left on the floor--probably cleaner than when they came!).
    Also, this father and son team treated each other with the utmost respect, each listening to the other carefully, diagnosing and planning next steps together rather than quibbling with each other,  It was refreshing to see two generations working together with respect and consideration for each other.
    What else could I have asked for?  Well, actually I guess I wish they were furnace installers and could solve the rest of my problems...I'd recommend them to anyone!

    We called Ashes to Ashes and Josh immediately came out.  He diagnosed the problem correctly on the phone and was amazing to work with.  He finished the job the next day.  We asked him how much it would cost to make our fire place functional again and the price he quoted was less than half of another company we had asked.  Can't say enough good things about working with him.  Fabulous experience.

    I was very pleased with the work that he did.  He was very through to show the damage and deterioration that was on the crown and the flashing before performing any of the work.  He even let me climb up on the roof of my two story house with him to see the damage first hand. 
    Eric did a thorough job and was quick to get the work done.  He made sure that any mess that he made was cleaned and cleared up before he left.  There were no surprise costs once the work was done and the work that was done was great.
