    It was during the heat wave when our old system died, and it was just awful. He was overwhelmed with service requests and couldn't get to us, and then he had to order a certain part so he actually brought a room air conditioner out and installed it for the living room so that we had some cool air. He didn't charge us for the use of that air conditioner. He came out that same day and put that air conditioner in. We were absolutely very impressed by this guy. We had gotten estimates from other companies as well and his was the most cost effective for us. He completed all the paperwork for us to get the Ameren rebate also. There were some Angie's List companies that didn't return my phone call. There were a couple who did return the phone call and said they were too busy, that it would be a month to 6 weeks before they could get to us, but there were even a couple who didn't bother to call me back. I was really perturbed with that. The quality is great. The system is a wonderful system. It's a heat pump air conditioner and heating system and it has a built in humidifier with it. He recommended that. He came out and looked at the house and measured, and gave us what our options were with it, and explained the advantages and disadvantages of each particular system. Their punctuality was very good. Because of how busy the company was with service calls, he knew it will be a couple of weeks and so he brought a loaner air conditioner with no charge to us. In reading his reviews on Angie's List, I read that he has done that for other people and so that was one of the reasons why I picked him. I picked the companies that had A-ratings, and I picked him, and I was very impressed because other people have reported the same thing, that he gave them loaner air conditioners while they had to wait because the other systems were completely down. I thought he knew them personally or maybe they were employees' friends but he offered that right away, that he could bring out an air conditioner for us.

    We bought a mini split A/C for our garage, had it professionally installed by an electrician, and called Frueh to check the connections and test for leaks. Frueh came out on 6/27 to perform these duties, it worked the rest of the night, but no longer worked the next day, we called Frueh again and told them it was not working. They came back out on 6/29 and told us we had a leak and did not cover this (even though this is the exact thing we paid them to do and on the invoice we signed states a 30 day warranty on parts and labor). I called to leave a complaint however the boss was on vacation and couldn’t get to us until Monday 7/2 (I left a complaint with the receptionist AND wrote an email to the 24/7 email address on our invoice) we had to get it up and going so we went ahead and had them fix the leak and refill the unit with refrigerant ($120 we shouldn’t of had to spend had the job been done correctly the first time) again it worked for the rest of the day on 6/29 but when we went out again on 7/1 it again had a leak and the pipe was frozen. We called that day 7/1 and told them of the issue again, she said she would call us back on Monday 7/2. 2oclock on Monday and we have yet to hear from them or get a response to my email, so we call them, she tells us they will be out Tuesday 7/3 and the boss would come also. The tech and the boss show up Tuesday find the leak and test it again, they did leave the test on longer this time, and refilled it with refrigerant. They did not charge us for this visit this time however he did make the comment that he “didn’t appreciate me contacting the BBB” (I told him I was going to report him to the BBB in my complaint email sent 6/29, but wanted to see how they resolved the problem before I issued my complaint) My overall experience with Frueh was AWFUL the lack of communication (us having to call them when they knew we were extremely unhappy) , lack of care  for customer satisfaction and the fact that they don’t stand behind their work made me incredibly unhappy. His comment that he didn’t appreciate me contacting the BBB really infuriated me,  I didn’t appreciate having to call them 3 times, or having to pay for something that should have never happened, or not being a priority within his company. Contacting the BBB is my right as a consumer and I feel the situation was mishandled by this company. Today is 7/3 they came out for the 3rd and hopefully final time this morning, hopefully it works for more then a day this time.

    Andy came to the house looked over my existing HVAC system and told me he would give me a few options and pricing. A couple days later I was given a personalized book of my options with pricing as well as pricing for the removal of the old equipment. It was very professional and thorough. I met with Andy again at their shop, we finalized the details and scheduled an installation time. His crew showed up at the agreed upon time and got right to work. It took 2 days for the entire system to be replaced including some of the over 75 year old duct work. The finished work was a great improvement over the old stuff and the new duct work that was installed gave me more headroom in the basement. The day after the installation one of the service guys stopped by to show me how to use and maintain the new system and then a few days later they stopped by to check to make sure everything was operating properly. How cool is that!
    I could have gotten a cheaper unit else where but you get what you pay for and Lakebrink was more than worth the price.
