    Brian Dawson Roofing LLC
They were very nice and responsive but said that they have a minimum amount of $400 that they charge. All they did was replace 10 shingles and they used the ones that we had left over from redoing the front of our roof 2 years earlier. Very nice people but will not call them for smaller jobs.

    Crown Exteriors LLC
The owner was prompt and stayed in great contact. The worker that fixed our house was so nice and his craftsmanship was amazing. I almost hope we get more exterior storm damage so that I can call Crown exteriors again and have them work on our house again. It was amazing work. Done promptly. My expectations were exceeded on every level.

    Zykan Exteriors STL

    To Whom It may Concern:

I wanted to share my experience with Zykan Exteriors over the past year stemming from the May 2015 storm in Troy, Missouri.  Communication was great with Fred Zykan.  I had issues with my insurance company after some initial repairs were made and we worked through said issues ultimately leading to the insurance company covering the additional materials/labor to properly finish the job.  The garage/window/door installer was excellent.  Everything looked better than original after the repairs were complete.  Siding, roof and gutters were done quickly to avoid any additional issues after the initial storm.  I would recommend Zykan Exteriors to any friend or family member.  If you are viewing this review, you are doing exactly what I did when looking for an exterior company to make repairs to my house; you won't be disappointed.  Don't be fooled by the storm chasers, go local, go Zykan!

RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!  Initial work done acceptable except they used a different color shingle for caps.  We had to call them out to fix that. They completely overlooked the roof on the bay window in the back of the house.  Gutter downspouts s*** water from seems during rain.  We have yet to receive any warranty information even though we were told there was a warranty.  Have tried to call Bryan Moon since August and he will not answer or return my phone calls.  I  called the office and talked to an employee. I explained that part of my roofing was not done, the downspouts have issues, and Bryan Moon refuses to talk to me.  He said he was driving and asked me to send it to him in an email and he'd look into it.  I never heard from him again.  This company does NOT deliver a quality job and has non-existant customer service.  They refuse to fix their issues, deliver warranty information, or even speak to clients.  WILL NEVER USE THIS CONTRACTOR AGAIN.

Wonderful!   Kept in touch from start to finish.  Notified me with weather reports that would affect getting the roof put on.  Made plans as some rain moved in to keep the house safe during a short rain storm.  Uses top quality products and does not take short cuts to save him money.  Will not hesitate to use them again!!

    A BEST ROOFING
This was a roof for my parents house that I took care of for them. Initially it was very hard to get in touch with them to get an estimate. I was trying to get in touch with them based on a referral from my brother-in-law but I wasn't getting a response on the voice messages I would leave. I was about to give up on them and go with someone else when he finally returned my call and came out to give me an estimate. From there on things went well. These folks aren't as formal with the estimates and such, but I found them a pleasure to work with. Once the decision was made to use their services, we did sign an agreement, but I wasn't asked for a down payment. The shingles were delivered when they said they would be. The work took two days to complete. I live an hour away from my parents ... but I wanted to be there while they worked. Each day they were about an hour late getting started which I really didn't mind except for the fact I would have appreciated the extra hour of sleep if they could have been a little more accurate. I did yard work for my parents while they worked. The workers were all very polite and cheerful the whole time. It was a really good crew. They cleaned up at the end of each day. Previously whenever I would have roofing work done, the roofers would always leave behind a half dozen or more singles in case small repairs would be needed at some point in the future. Don't expect that from this crew. They don't leave anything behind. We weren't expected to pay until all work was complete and we inspected to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. This surprised me that they didn't require some money up front ... but the owner will show up as the work is being completed and expected a check immediately which I totally found ok. Overall, great team.

    A BEST ROOFING

This work was for my parents. It was initiated when they changed insurance companies and the new company would not cover the roof on their house until some repairs were completed. After assessing options, it was decided it would be better to over-shingle the roof than to simply do repairs. Two contractors were contacted ... one that had a good Angie's list rating and this one that had been used by my brother-in-law. At first I contacted this contractor by getting his main phone number from the internet. I left several messages and did not get a return call. I then was about to give up on him when I believe he was contacted by my sister via his cell phone and he called me. We made an appointment and he met me on time at my parents. He had good literature with him that described the products he intended to use that helped us in our decision. His estimate form was not as formal and did not contain all the legal forms that were provided with the other contractor's estimate.

When I reviewed the estimates with my dad and since his bid was for $300 less than the other contractor for exactly the same materials, we decided this would be the best deal. I contacted Rick and let him know he had the job. I asked if he needed anything like a contract or down-payment to get started and he said he was willing to accept our conversation as a verbal contract.

The materials were delivered on Friday and Monday morning they started work. I decided I would meet the workers at my parents house and do other work around the house while the roofing work was performed. I was told to plan on them starting work at 7AM so I was there at that time and considering it is a one hour drive for me ... that meant I had to get up earlier than I normally would have. At 8AM they had not show up yet so I called Rick. He explained they had to pick up some equipment and would arrive in about 30 minutes which they did. They quickly set up and got started. My mom is normally very sensitive to noise and we were both amazed that there was not a lot of noise filtering down into the house so that made me happy. The first day they completed most of the work and wrapped up when the heat made the singles soft. They said they didn't want to cause any damage walking on them and quit about 2PM. They cleaned up everything before they left. I asked what time they would show up the next day and was told 8AM.

Tuesday I was there at 8AM but the workers were not there yet .. but the first one showed up within about 5 minutes after and immediately got to work setting everything up again. By the time he completed the setup, the others were there. They wrapped up their work and cleaned up around the house again. Normally I've had roofers leave an open bundle of shingles in case a later repair might be necessary and I asked them about leaving some and was told it would never be necessary because of the quality of this shingle. When I had my roof replaced, I had actually purchased a higher quality shingle as the roofer voluntarily left me with what was left from an open bundle. It may be just a security thing and may never be needed, but I believe it is a good gesture.

Overall, I am very pleased with this contractor. I appreciated being able to do things on a verbal handshake versus all of the threat of leans and legal paperwork that is typically required. Rick came to the house after his workers had left to ensure we were satisfied and to get a check for the work. The workers were all local people who spoke English. Neither my parents or I remember hearing any foul language so I really appreciated that. In addition, all of them were polite and respectful.  I would use this contractor again in the future.

    Pittman Roofing

My parents were switching insurance companies and the new company said that there where some repairs that needed to be made on the roof before they would cover it. I made the mistake of contacting the old insurance company first and they sent out an adjuster. Based on the adjuster's input the old insurance company said they would only cover repairs and since the repairs were under the deductible there would be nothing paid. Being very frugal, initially the most my dad wanted to do was repair the roof. I found Mike Pittman on Angie's List and liked the reviews so I contacted him. He showed up early for the appointment, inspected the roof and provided an estimate for the repair. He also advised that with the condition and age of the roof that he could not guarantee the repairs and more work would probably need to be done within a year. He thought  it would be worth trying to contact the insurance company again. He also gave a ballpark figure for replacement so I could pass it on to my dad.

I called the insurance company and gave them Mike's contact information. After Mike talked to them he came to the conclusion based on the discussion that we would simply be wasting time trying to get the roof covered because the old insurance company was talking about sending out an engineer as well as the adjuster. He said his experience with that is it never resulted in the company covering replacement of the roof. I asked him to let me know when he could make the repairs.

When I discussed it with my dad, he had a change of mind and wanted to see written estimates for replacement of the roof and since it was for replacement, I wanted bids from at least two contractors. Again, Mike showed up slightly before the scheduled time and provided a very professional estimate. Unfortunately, both companies proposed the exact same roof vent and shingles and the other local company was $300 less so we ended up selecting the other contractor.

Mike was always very professional and prompt. I would definitely recommend considering him for your roofing needs.

    Zykan Exteriors STL
From day one when they came out to examine the roof, I could definitely see the care and time they put into their business and profession.  They gave me all the examples both good and bad with my then current roof.
The Scheduling and willingness to work with me was outstanding.  They gave me the right amount of time to choose the roof I wanted without any pressure.
The roof went on fast and easy and then even followed up to make sure everything was ok days later with the new one.
I would definitely recommend Zykan to anyone who needs a new roof or another opinion.

    Myers Select Homes
I never received a formal bill. One of the reps came out and gave an estimate. I was pleased with the estimate because they drove about 30 minutes out of the way at the home where I was staying at. They left a huge palette of shingles in my yard for a week. I called owner twice to get this palette removed. My insurance company called me because the company was trying to get more money out of them. I still have yet to hear from them. I was beside myself that they sent me a review form.
