    The owner is hostile and in denial. Refuses to accept responsibility for the neglect. She even refers to my dog as "it". Has not called to check on my dog. Has not offered any assistance. Absolutely does not care. UPDATE 9-22-2016 Please see the article on riverfront dated 9/22/2016 about Baxters k9 complex neglecting my dog and lying about it. No apology, never checked on the condition of my dog.

    Love Dr. Schulte and been seeing him for 14 years. He has cared for all 5 of our pets over that time. The office staff are very professional and spend all the time necessary to make sure all questions and concerns are addressed. I have referred a number of friends and family to them and they are now patients as well. My pets love them and so do we! We will not go anywhere else.

    We boarded our 2 small dogs with Country Lane Kennels.  We have never boarded our dogs so this was all new to us.  We were very apprehensive about  leaving our doggies but were quickly put at ease when we visited the kennels unannounced.  When we arrived, we were greeted by a very personable attendant who immediately offered to take us a tour of the facility.
    The kennels were large and very neat & clean,   The outside "play area"  was more than big enough for your furry friends to run around.  Bottom line, we were so happy we boarded our doggies with Country Lane and will certainly board there again.

    Excellent job. I was going out of town and needed to get him trimmed as soon as possible. I called about 6 other groomers on Angie's List and all of them said it would be about 2 weeks before they could get me in. When I contacted Abel's, she said they were extremely busy but that if I dropped him off, they would make sure to work him into their schedule. They called me a couple of hours after I dropped him off and said he was all done. They did a great job and I will be a returning customer.

    I dropped my two miniature schnauzers off at the appointed time of 8am.  They asked me how I wanted them cut.  I told them to make sure they look like schnauzers with a "skirt" when they are finished but just not too long of a 'skirt' so I can keep up with them between the grooming appointments.  They called a little after 12 noon to come pick them up.  I was there about 15 minutes later to pick them up.  I paid for the service of grooming, teeth brushing and nail file and added $20 for a tip adding to $126 withhout seeing them yet.  They brought them out and I noticed that Einstein's ears were scraggly looking.  They hadn't trimmed them up.  I walked out and while they were relieving themselves on the grass I noticed their backs were barely touched and there was no 'skirt' at all.  They basically shaved them almost at one length. I took them back into the shop and told them they needed to shave their backs more and that I was dissatisfied with their skirts being so short.  I asked them, " Do they look like schnauzers to you?"  No response.  They said the groomer had to leave and couldn't fix them today.  I was getting upset.  I said give me a discount then because it was ridiculous what they did to my beautiful dogs. At first they wanted to give me the next haircut free.  I thold them I'm never coming back.  They gave me $56 back and I requested the tip back too, so they gave me $76 back for the haircut but did not refund the teeth brushing or the nail trim.  They had two other groomers there.  They could fix them but not right away.  I would have to leave them again.  I said, "No I'm not leaving them".  They said well that's all we can do.  Seriously?  You have TWO dogs from one customer and you won't stop to take care of them and satisfy them as best as you can?  Idiots.   You scalp my beautiful white schnauzers and that's all you can do.  No apology. I stormed out because I was so upset.  I went to Petsmart and they trimmed them up and made them look smooth, at least.   They had hairs coming off their ears, their feet were a mess and there was no skirt to speak of.  Petsmart fixed them tyoo.   They look better but they still don't look like my beautiful schnauzers becuase of what Kennelwood at O'Fallon did to them.  They are horrible pet groomers.  It doesn't even seem like they know what a schnauzer cut is.  I've had this problem before where they cut the skirt too short and I thought if I told them about it they would stop it.  they didn't.  It didn't make a difference and I've lost my patience. I decided to give them one more try and it came out worse today then they ever did.  This wasn't the first time they screwed up.  this is the first time I took action.  They just are horrible.  Their customer service is horrible.  I called them when I got home and told them I had to take them to Petsmart to fix them.  I told thim I was so upset.  Do you know what they said?  '" Ok"  That's it.  No apology no nothing.  I am thoroughly ticked off.

    Very happy with Kennelwood! My husband and I travel for work and usually find out the day prior that we need to leave, and Kennelwood has always been great at last minute accomodations! We board her in the villas, and get the bundle which includes 2 play times and happy hours. When dropping off our dog, we get to go back to the villas and get her settled in to her villa. The staff text us pictures of her play times and there is a webcam that we can log onto and watch her all day long! Our dog can't wait to get into the building, and comes home happy. I don't have any worries about her while I am out of town, which is very comforting! They also are open all day Sunday for drop offs and pick ups, whereas most other places are not. That is a big help when we find out Saturday that we have to leave on Sunday, we are able to drop her off Sunday or pick her up Sunday if needed. The villas are definitely pricey, but it is worth it to have the extra care and a quieter place to stay.

    It's just like taking your pet to a relative's home. We have two Chows we have used this service for about six different times with two different people. Both individuals were very good. The cost depends on the number of pets you have at one time. The cost is quite comparable to a boarding kennel.

    You have the ability to evaluate the home and provider you would be boarding with a head of time just in case you don't feel comfortable with that particular home. It falls on you to decide. Again, the ones we have used have been good. 

    Once, we got delayed at a couple of airports, so we communicated this with the provider to let them understand that the situation had changed. Communication you establish that with the party that you are contracting with, and you can update them when the situation changes, if it changes. As far as dropping the dog off and picking them up, you can arranged this ahead of time, so there are no surprises. Both you and they need to know what would be acceptable times to drop off and pick up so it's not too late or too early for that individual. 

    Also, we would provide the pets food and/or medicine if necessary as well as instructions as to when the medication or food would be given.

    PJ picks up our dog from our house and drops her back off.  When our dog sees PJ, her tail starts wagging and she jumps right in the van.  Obviously, our dog has a good time with PJ.  PJ is prompt with pick up and drop off and gives us the option of bathing and/or grooming also.  Highly recommended.

    We've boarded our 2 small dogs here twice. The first time was for 1 week in Fall of 2012 and most recently for 2 weeks in the Fall 2013. Having seen the facility with a 1 year span between visits, I can tell you it's gone downhill. When we boarded our dogs in 2012, the only complaint was how far of a drive it is from I-70. But when we went to pick the dogs up this time, the small building they board dogs in reekedof stale urine. When my husband dropped off our dogs, he noticed a couple dogs wearing bark shock collars. I reassured him saying, "I'm sure the dog owners provided the bark collars. I can't fathom the kennel putting them on a dog without it being supplied by the dog's owners!" One of our dogs came home with skin-piercing wounds on her ear and neck
    and we were haunted by the thought that she may have had a shock collar strapped to her neck. So I asked the kennel owner. He said that yes, they do put shock collars on noisy dogs! He said "Its in our contract. But we didn't put one on your dogs since  they're not too loud." Well, we've never seen or signed any contract and it's mentioned nowhere on their website or the confirmation email we received after making our reservation online. I would NEVER take my beloved dogs to a kennel that may decide while I'm gone to torture them for barking--ESPECIALLY since shock collars may be sensitive to surrounding dogs' barks and shock the wearer unnecessarily! How cruel to strap a shocking device to a dog in a small, confined space full of other barking dogs! Our 10lb dogs also came back a pound heavier and looked painfully fat. They were obviously WAY overfed.
    Needless to say, we'll NEVER again board our dogs at Roesler's Kennels due to their secretive, torturous policy and fact that they had no idea how my dog's ear was literally PIERCED, with 5 surrounding open wounds on her ear and neck (that weren't consistent with a dog bite). If they were paying any attention whatsoever to her, they would've seen the wounds and dried blood. Dog owner beware: Their cheap prices are not worth the welfare of your dogs.

    As far as we know it went well. We were able to drop her off and pick her up when we wanted, although we had to pay $25.00 extra to drop her off on the actual July 4th holiday, which seemed a little high. We have used them before for boarding and had no complaints. There didn't seem to be any problems this time either.
