    Keimar General Contracting Inc
We wanted to let you know what a great company to work with. The entire crew and expecially Keith Boschert was very polite and respectful. The whole process was very quick and done in a very timely manner. We are extremely happy that we choose Keimar General Contracting over anyone else. This was a huge undertaking and we couldn't have asked for a more smoothly run project. We enjoyed doing business with Keimar General Contracting and would highly recommend them.

    StL Design & BUILD
I'll start by saying the deck was completed quickly and looks very nice. If any one of the issues below occurred on its own, it may not have been a big deal. But there was an accumulation of issues. 4/21/19 Ken and Rob came out today to address several of the issues, so I have updated the review. From the beginning, I did not have a great feeling. The day we called for bids, they were the first company to get back to us and even sent someone the same day. I had no intention of making a decision and said we needed time to think. The salesman who came out (Rob) seemed almost offended or angry, saying things like, What is there to think about? But he gave us one of those today only propositions that I feel like a fool for accepting. We signed a contract, letting them know we did not want the work to start until we received our annual bonus. We heard back about two weeks later from someone wanting to schedule us for the following week. I reiterated that we wanted to wait because of the bonus. The man on the phone seemed confused and said something like, You guys are financing, right? Why do you want to wait? I was a little put off by this since I already got confirmation from Rob that this wouldnt be a problem. But after some discussion, we agreed to start the project and not send the financing through until the it was complete. Still we got the feeling they were more concerned with their schedule than ours. When they dropped off materials, which included a bag of cement, some of the cement spilled out. We now have a cement stain in that spot. 4/21 - Ken said he will have someone come and clean it up on Monday, 4/22. Lack of communication between the ground crew and the office was apparent throughout the project. We called the office several times with questions they just couldn't answer because they hadn't talked to the crew. Communication with us, the clients, was not great either. Once the majority of the project was finished, a rail was short by one board. They told us they would eventually finish it but didnt give us any kind of timeline. After about two weeks we called and asked. Again the office didnt know any more than we did. Once it was finished, it failed the first inspection. The distance between the bottom step and the ground was too far. We didnt know it failed until we saw the notice on our front door knob. And we had to call STL Design and Build ourselves to address it. They said they were aware and this was a result of a new regulation in St. Charles County. They said they were going to fix the issue, but never discussed with us how it was going to be fixed. Their fix was to pour a concrete step around the entire deck, which they later told us was something the county required. If we had actually had any discussions about it, we may have come to the same decision, but we were not involved in this part of the planning and Im really not thrilled about a concrete step halfway around our beautiful tigerwood deck. There were cigarette butts all around the construction area. We dont smoke, and this seems very unprofessional. There were a handful of tools left behind. I let the office know about this, but no came to collect them until Rob came back out on 4/20. One of the covers on our exterior outlet was broken off. 4/21 - This was replaced. We had some spare wood along the side of the house that has now disappeared. I assume it got mixed up with the builders supplies and it is now gone. 4/21 - Ken offered to drop off some replacement lumber in the next few days. At least two screws holding parts of the deck in place have snapped and boards have started pulling away from the deck. It is less than three months old. 4/21 - Ken replaced with new screws. For the amount we paid we expected more. Rob did come back out on 4/20 to discuss everything listed above and said he would talk to the owner, Ken. If we hear back and they are able to make any of this right, we will be sure to update this review.

    RainTight Decks
Overall it went well and turned out nice. They installed LED lights and two ceiling fan mounts with it, and the underdecking itself looks great and we have not had any leaks in the underdecking at all. The only suggestion I would have is to not have them hook up the downspout from the gutter - if I could do it again I would hire someone with experience to do the downspouts - the way they hook it up is rather crude - they just cut an x out of the gutter, fold the flaps down, and screw the downspout in which requires a lot of caulk and it leaks. they came back and touched it up though. Also, the way our deck is they have two gutters and the downspouts from them form a Y into a single downspout. Insetad of ordering a Y adaptor which I know are available, where they put the two pieces into the single downspout, each one protruded 3/4 the way through the gutter, so instead of having a 3 inch gutter, we effectively had a 1/2 inch gutter with switchbacks and no leaves could make it past - the leaves that hit our deck are tiny - about 3/4 inch by 2 inches. I since fixed it myself since they don't cover clogs and didn't want to waste several months going back and forth with them.

    Integrity Custom Painting L.L.C.
Alex restored/restained a 100+ year old truck which was a family heirloom, and it turned out absolutely stunning. We entrusted him with this job after he stained several custom barn wood doors that are also in our home -- another beautiful job. Not only is his work the upmost quality, we enjoyed getting to know him throughout. He's a class act!

    Artistic Decks
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE OUR NEW COVERED DECK Beyond Awesome! No BS, no flashy promos, no hidden extras. Derrick Brumley is a breath of fresh air. Dont be fooled by his looks. He is an experienced professional with a small business who back his products and services, uses high quality wood and products and hires friendly, experienced individuals and professional craftsmen, carpenters, and sub-contractors. Like everyone else in our area, our install was pushed back because of the snow, rain, frigid cold, more rain, etc., but it was well worth it. John and Chris were our crew. They appeared every day at 6:30ish and semi-quietly got their tools and equipment out for their days work. Sawing didnt begin until after 7 am. When they left each day, the work site was cleaned up, organized, and covered in the event of rain which we had throughout the project. Derrick appeared intermittently throughout the project and was open and honest and answered all our questions. Only issue was misunderstanding with electric sub-contractor and Derrick took care of it. Other than that, everything went smoothly. I give Artistic Decks and Derrick, John and Chris, and Shawn(siding, gutter guide) an A+ and highly recommend hiring them.

    Chesterfield Fence & Deck Company
Due to backlog it did take a while to get the project going, but once started it went relatively fast. We are very happy with the new deck. The crew of two was easy to work with, and responsive to our requests.

KR Deck, Fence & Projects, LLC
It went great! Kevin was wonderful to work with. We needed someone to help us Frame a deck and stairs with a landing / switchback, and I was going to do the deck and railing. Kevin worked with me, was very flexible, worked with my schedule, answered all my questions well, and did a great job. He provided tips for doing the decking and railing, as well as some design suggestions.

    Honey- Do Handyman LLC
GREAT! The owner pointed out the structural issues with our deck staircase, as well as pointed out the deck boards and railings which we knew needed to be replaced. He also replaced a wooden deck screen door which had rotted with age. The deck paint from Sherwin Williams he recommended was almost an exact match to our upper screened in deck which had Behr stain on it. The crew was amazing, on time, and completely cleaned up every trace of their work, We are thrilled with how the deck turned out and impressed with the owner's honesty. We appreciative that he did not try to "over sell" us on repairs. I will definitely re hire this contractor. All of our neigh boors are impressed with the results. My husband added new solar deck lights to the deck stairwell and now we can enjoy our "new" deck into the late summer / fall.
