I expected to have to replace a panel at least or the entire door. They took one look and said they could install a steel brace to the door that would stop the problem. They showed up on time both for the assessment and for the repair had it done in less than an hour at a cost far less than I expected.

They did a great job! They were incredibly flexible and communicative with us about what they were doing each day. They reached out two different times when the paint color didn't look quite what we had in mind, and it saved us a lot of heartache and extra work later when they were right and we changed the color to be a better match. They went above and beyond by painting trim and fixing some extra spots they didn't have to. Our house looks great and we would hire them again!

Bob was honest from the minute we spoke. He kept in touch and was on time for our appointment. He took the toilets apart, all of them, and suggested the possibility of a backup in the pipes. He then called a friend who was a drain cleaner and asked him to come ASAP. He left and told me he would be back the next day, after the drain cleaner put the camera down the pipes. Turns out the man who was going to look at the drains could make it the same day, and an hour later both the drain cleaner showed up, along with Bob, the plumber. They worked together and found the problem quickly, which was a clog in the pipe. The drain man left in less than a half hour, and Bob then put all new wax rings in the three toilets, along with all new insides for each. He then inserted "shims" under the toilets because, as I thought, the slate floors were not level, so the toilets did not sit exactly flush. He spent more than 4 hours here and did not leave until he was sure everything was working perfectly, and also said if I saw anything wrong, to call him immediately. He was polite, friendly, and explained everything as he went along. And I told him upfront that I had numerous plumbers here previously, what they had done or not done, what they said, and how much it cost me, which was hundreds of dollars between them, only to find the same problem reoccurred right after they left. And, I can also tell you when I had called some of them back, I was ignored or told that I paid them for the problem they fixed. This man is a gem and I would recommend him to anyone.

First, I get nervous about paying ahead of time for something, but I guess on a credit card there is always protection. It took a few tries to work out a schedule. I am guessing they do certain areas each day, but Dan was pleasant enough and we finally agreed on a date. He did call ahead that he was on his way, and they worked so very fast. I guess my only concern was that I initially asked on the phone if the garage was included and was told yes, but when he got here, I was told otherwise. He said the gutters were bad in some areas, especially on the garage, so it would be another 50.00, which I paid so it could all be completed. I have to admit, they had a large crew and were in and out in about an hour.

Priced right compared to every other dealer in Columbia.  Had the unit
in stock, so I didn't have to wait like all the big box stores.
Delivered and installed the next day as promised.  Installers arrived
within 15 minutes of their stated time and were in and out in less than
    30 minutes.

Here is what is wrong with the rate(s) and the method used by Gutter Brothers:

Going labor rates. In the last two months I paid (for hours spent on the job) : Painting in addition to a previously quoted job - $45.00/hour, Cleaning, clearing and restoring yard with a team incl. an arborist $40.00/man-hour. Removing a 62-ft. tree decayed at bottom, less than 10 ft. from side of house; cleaning all debris and carrying off tree using 5 guys (2 climbers and 3 handlers), heavy equipment, 7 hours, average $49.75/man-hour (higher skill level than the other two jobs)

"Compared to" amount.  The $250.00 is as misleading and deceptive as the infamous MSRP in the car trade. Using the above rates, it implies  that a regular gutter job takes as much a 6 hours (?)

"Special Deal" amount. The $100.00 is what one would pay for a 2 1/2 man-hour job at going rate; which Gutter Brothers was not about to do for me. A "special deal"  would give a client at least 3 man-hours of labor, divided over gutter work and clean up. Instead, they sent one man with only one hour of daylight left to do the job.

Their cleaning method. In October 2012 another firm cleaned my gutters, using 3 guys for about 1 1/2 hours. One  man sat on the roof, throwing debris straight down. It formed a narrow pattern along the house, making it a simple task for the other two to sweep/rake and bag. I paid less than $100.00. ----- A full gutter could have as much as three layers: Top - loose leaves and twigs; Middle - heavy, wet leaves. These wet leaves could cover the top of the downspouts, causing some dirty water to remain as the bottom layer. ----  Gutter Brothers' power blower method would blow away the loose top layer and spread it all over the yard. I could not accept that, considering the recent restoration work done in the yard. The slimy middle layer might partially loosen up and also fly into the yard below. What will for sure happen is that the blower will squeegee out the layer of dirty water and squirt it around, possibly soiling walls and windows. (The picture with the ad for the "deal", possibly unintentionally, shows the preferred manual method. Nonetheless, I assumed that to be the method intended to be used). Notice that it is very likely that much of the wet leaves will never be blown out of the gutter. A partially emptied gutter is not obvious from below.

Belligerent attitude. About ten minutes after I sent away the diminutive young man, the owner called. He implied that I did not know what I was talking about, I should not tell him how to do his job, "The manual job is just no good". "If you do not like what I do, I'll give you your money back".  Fact:  We have lived in this house for 34 years, I cleaned the gutters with regularity, manually ( I had the stuff in my hands, bagged it as I grabbed it), until it became too much of an effort. That's when I switched to professional service in 2012.

I intend to shop around among other similar services. The special deal got my attention, but the price is not as important as long as a quality professional job is done.

Absolutely great! Came out the same day called, arrived at scheduled time, found and repaired the problem. Very personable, professional, informative and knew what he was doing. I can't think of anything he could have done better, I have recommended him to friends and that is something I just don't do if I have any concern over how they will be treated. If you're looking for an old school, customer orientated, does what he says he will do, on time and fair priced guy This is the one you want.

I called, they came, filled my tank and went.  No fuss, No muss, No problem.  Pay on delivery for new customers or billed for existing customers.  I've had  long time, (thirty years) service from them and never been able to beat their service.

Tim assured us that he would be the GC on site to take care of the building of our new home.  He also assured us that he would keep us informed as to what we needed to take care of, what decisions needed to be made and when in order to keep the building process moving along.  Our house was slated to be completed in 5-6 months time.  Jeff Crane was the handler of the bills and was to keep the budget in line.  He we over one line item by nearly 25%, and by the time we found out, it was too late and we had to pay the bills.
It took 8 months because of unnecessary delays and the lack of Tim being on site when needed.  He did not show up to see if those he had scheduled were at our house.  He did not let us know what was going on, and we would have weeks of no work being completed because of his lack of ability to keep things scheduled and moving.  We ended up having to ask all the questions in order to keep up with what we needed to do, and my husband had to be on site every day so that he would know what was going on.  He was also the one catching mistakes and asking that they be fixed, not Tim, who was supposed to the GC.
As time went on, it became more of an issue because Tim and Jeff decided to begin a new "spec" house of their own.  Tim simply stopped showing up all together, and did not answer our questions.  He then had to hire out the jobs that he himself had been taking care of at our house, and those contractors didn't as good of a job.  He didn't even bother to come out and inspect the work.
Jeff Crane was making so many mistakes with the bills that I was having to look everything over before approving it with the bank.  I would have ended up paying him thousands of dollars over what the bills were if I had let his draws go through.  It was careless and not done in a way that showed any concern over my money.
At the end of the process, Tim was upset at us because we called him on the carpet for not being present and doing his job as we had been promised.  We felt that we did not owe him the full amount due to his lack of performance.  However, the contract we signed was vague, and that was a mistake on our part for signing it as first time home builders.  Jeff Crane and Tim both demanded the full pay, and Tim would not even show up at the last meeting to discuss our concerns.  We gave them the money, even though they did not earn it.
I urge you to not use Mr. McTague as a builder.  He does not follow through with what he tells you in the beginning, and in the end you will regret being taken in by his easy going manner.  Jeff Crane will not care about your money, how it is spent or if it goes over your budget.  My husband and I are not demanding people, and it was very upsetting to us to be treated this way by someone we felt comfortable with and trusted in the beginning.  I do not like having to say things like this about someone, but I feel that it is important to let others know so that they do not have to go through what we did.

There aren't even enough words for how bad of an experience we had with Woodstone Floor to Ceiling!  We purchased our entire kitchen, bath and laundry cabinets from them.  It was a nightmare!  My cabinets came in wrong FOUR times because the measurements weren't right, he didn't bother to write anything down and didn't listen to a thing I said.
We have been in our house for 2 months now, and I am still waiting on my upper cabinets to be fixed because he attempted to put glass in shaker cabinet doors and cracked the wood!  What absolutely blew my mind is that they INSTALLED these cabinet doors, with cracked wood and white stuff all over it as if it would hide it!  It was horrible!  I had to pay extra for our installer to come back and install the cabinets once everything was right.
The granite is great, and the price was great, but that would be the ONLY thing I would purchase from him, ever.  Anything else is a nightmare.  Complete nightmare!  DO NOT use this business!
