    Denninghoff, Dr James
Had been administering weekly allergy injections for approximately six to eight years under the care of Dr. Denninghoff. Every three to five years, new tests are conducted. On this visit, retesting was completed and I was given the option of continuing weekly self- injections or starting daily drops under the tongue. Following the tests, I met with Dr. Denninghoff to discuss the results, review progress and have the opportunity to ask questions. Allergy immunotherapy has been very effective and significantly reduced and, at times, eliminate allergy symptoms. Dr. Denninghoff is knowledgeable regarding current evidence-based allergy treatment as well as the value of nutrition and supplements. His approach seems to emphasize overall health to reduce the need for medical intervention. Staff are pleasant and helpful.

    Hutchens, Dr. Melissa D.
She communicates with me about the client as needed as with a signed release. She spends time with them, unlike many other psychiatrists. My clients who see her report feeling like she listens and really cares about their symptoms.

    Russell, Dr. Bradford W.
The hygienist I worked with, Brenda, was very thorough and knowledgeable. She explained what she was doing and explained the outcomes very well. Dr. Russell and Brenda were very personable. Because I needed to make a future appointment, Brenda followed up with me to verify that the next procedure could be performed in an appropriate time frame. Dr. Russell came back out to follow up with me, taking the time to explain next steps and what I could expect. Even the front desk staff took the time to calculate what my out-of-pocket cost would be with my specific insurance provider. My entire interaction, from start to finish, was positive and professional. I would recommend their services to anyone who has need of general dentistry.

    Mays, Dr. Karen T.
I made the appointment with this office and the staff seemed very cordial in the beginning.  When I arrived, the wait time was not too long, x-rays were completed and I was seated in a treatment room.  After a short wait, the dentist entered and looked at my teeth and showed me the x-rays.  She informed me she believed I it was in my best interest to opt for dentures, upper and lower.
Please note I had seen one dentist prior to this visit for a first opinion and he refused to pull my teeth, stating they were all capable of being treated, and saved except for the bottom, front two teeth. Dr. Mays seemed highly knowledgeable and caring and I was anxious to have a beautiful smile again so I placed all of my trust in her knowledge, abilities and ethical practice!  There was never any mention any my teeth could have been saved by Dr Mays.  After a short while, my gums were numbed to a point where I felt as though I had had extreme collagen placed inside my lips and I was incapable of communicating in any manner.  I wanted to stop after the first couple of teeth were pulled, as it was evident they were still tightly attached to the bone, however, I could not get this across.  When I began to rise up from the chair, the assistant gently pushed me back, the dentist continued to pull more teeth, and after several were pulled, I realized I had made a terrible mistake in allowing this to happen.  I also felt it was too late to stop the process, as she started the process by pulling my teeth in the front first--these teeth are the first anyone sees when you smile--I was completely horrified but I felt unable to stop what was happening to me.  I realized almost immediately I should have listened to the first dentist I had consulted with and whom I had seen before on several occasions.
Here is a catch, which really bothered me for some reason, after my teeth were all pulled they then asked for payment, which amounted to over $5000.00 because she had pulled over twenty teeth from my mouth in less than a half-hour.  I felt like I was in a nightmare I could not escape. Once you pay, you are then told you have to return after two in the afternoon to get your first set of dentures (the mold is made, which is a very uncomfortable process and they do not take it easy on you no matter how many teeth they have just pulled)--your teeth are pulled at ten in the morning; therefore, you must leave and go around without any teeth and a mouthful of bloody gauze.
I arrived back and my first set of dentures was put in place.  These dentures never fit correctly, which can be understandable, since your gums are going through many changes, after all of your teeth have been pulled.  I was told I could come in for adjustments anytime and as often as needed; however, each time I went for an adjustment the staff was rude and acted as though I should not have been there at all.  This makes you feel like an idiot and makes you not want to return no matter how ill your dentures fit.  I was informed, for the first time, it could take up to a year before my mouth would be ready for my final set of premium dentures (the first set is not premium even when you buy the package and they do not look good, as I was told by many people).
After I had my teeth all pulled and had my first set of dentures in my mouth my sister, who had the same issues as I did with my teeth, informed me she found a dentist who told her our family suffered from a genetic gum disease.  This condition required a four-part procedure, which would save the teeth and gums.  I tried to speak with Dr. Mays about this fact, as I felt as though I had been treated like a head of cattle, and she had done the simplest procedure for the largest amount of money possible.  She did not care what I had to say and she even pulled something I have never seen a professional do--she broke down in tears and made me feel sorry for her!  She acted the victim when I was the true victim for having healthy teeth pulled, which all but two could have been saved.  if only she would have been ethical in her practice.
After this confrontation, she could hardly wait to get the second set of dentures in my mouth because they were much more attractive.  The most expensive set of dentures, which I purchased, turned out to have only a one-year warranty.  At first, they seemed to fit fair, but then they began to feel uncomfortable so I returned for realignments.  Again, they treated me as though I should not be there.  In fact, I felt as though they believed they were finished with me altogether.  This set of dentures never did fit correctly! One year and one week later, my lower plate cracked in a linear fashion--straight down the center of the back teeth where your molars are.  When this happened I immediately called, however, the entire office was shut down for vacation for a full week, and by the time this week was over my warranty had run out and they made no concessions! Dr. Mays refused to see me at all.  The receptionist had me leave my lower dentures so the dentist and lab could look at them, and she even exclaimed she had never seen a set of dentures crack in this manner--it was a very odd way for a plate to crack, which meant there was an issue with the product.  I was called the next day, and told to come and pick up my dentures and Dr. Mays was not going to see me again, replace the dentures or even make me a new set, which I was willing to pay for.  I believe she knew all the ethical and moral issues she did not live up to as a professional and refused to see me because she knew I was highly upset and she was possibly looking at a lawsuit for her malpractice and ill-treatment.
I have reported Dr. Mays to the head of the corporation of this chain, the Missouri Dental Board (they are still investigating this case) and the Better Business Bureau.  I did some research after my nightmarish encounter and ill-treatment and there are numerous complaints against this office, as well as offices throughout the United States for malpractice and for ill-treatment.  I simply searched on Google and found all of these horror stories by other patients of the office I went to and many offices, which are all branches of some headquarters.  When I spoke with the dental board they did agree with me verbally that the way she was treating me was highly unethical and that she should help me in some manner, however, I have yet to get this in writing.  I also contacted headquarters who stated they would do something about this atrocity, I have never heard back from them, and it has been nearly three months.
I would say, in my opinion, this is a blatant lack of customer care and service and this operation seeks to make the quickest buck possible.  I often wonder exactly how many other people have had their natural teeth removed, which could have been saved--believe me, if you can save your teeth do it, you never want dentures if you can avoid it.  I hope this helps someone out there and I hope no one else is treated the way I was.
