  • I have been going to Dr. Nicholas for like 10 or 12 years. I like that he is open to integrated medicine. He is not just Western medicine, but he will talk about diet and supplements and stuff like that. He is director of Gastroenterology at St. Mary's. His specialty is gastroenterology. It can be tricky to get into see him. His staff is great.

  • He is an internist and not specialized in digestive care. My wife is in the medical field and he was recommended to her by several people. I have not gone to him for long enough to recommend him to someone.

  • She spends a lot of time with you. She will sit down with you and ask you what is going on. When I was hospitalized for something else, she still came to see me. The overall experience is excellent. It takes a while to get an appointment because she is booked up. You can call in and ask the nurse a question and she goes to the doctor for an answer. She will come back with what the doctor recommends, so in that sense she is available. The staff is friendly. Sometimes she is not punctual, but I know she is going to spend the same amount of time with me, so that is OK. I will continue to see Dr. Niesen.

  • Luckily, I got into the doctor's office on short notice. The doctor's staff is very personable. As with many doctors, I did wait quite a while before the doctor came in. I felt the doctor spent ample time with me and did not make me feel rushed. I generally prefer to see female doctors and was glad that I didn't feel uncomfortable seeing Dr. Nicholas. I was super impressed that he did not hesitate to order multiple tests to try to diagnose the problem rather than just sending me home with a prescription. He also scheduled multiple follow-up visits to track my progress.
