    America's Blind Crafters
Well. Rick has worked in 2 of my homes on ordering and hanging shades. The quality is very good. He's punctual. Shades take more than 2 weeks to order and deliver. He even took down old curtain rods for me.

I called this company and within a day or two I got a call back.  We set up an appointment to go over the work I wanted done.  Steve came over and we looked at the project.  He said he probably would not be able to get to my project until the end of April. He gave me a quote within a day and it was lower than I expected.  In about a week to ten days after he gave me the quote he called and said they would be able to start my project the following Tuesday night.  They were willing to work at night and weekends to get my project done.  Within a ten-day period my project was done.  I had only asked them to install the drywall and get it ready to paint as I was going to paint the walls and ceiling myself.  I have been VERY pleased with Steve's responsiveness and constant communication.  One point to remember...the consumer has to be willing to work with the contractor.  I would use this company again!

    Turner Painting Co
It worked out very well.  The coupon got them out here and we were going to do one room.  Mr. Turner was very informative.  I felt comfortable having him in my home.  The work turned out to be exceptionally well.  They had to come back and do some texturing on one of the ceilings.  They textured it and left.  The painters were still here.  I told Mr. Turner that I didn't care for that and he didn't care for it either, so he called the gentleman back to redo it.  Other than that, it was the only issue.  The interaction went very well.  I will recommend them again.

    Larry L. Vaught Roofing Inc
They did an excellent job.  We had a dark hallway and now, we have a daylight in there.  We had a ranch house and it is pretty good size.  They did a fine job.  I didn't have any problems with him.  It was good.  They picked up and did a good cleaning.  There were some shingles that were left on the hedge.

    Brown Painting
We tried to warn another "professional" painter that the room we wanted done needed extensive prep work due to poor wall condition (drywall paper rips) and a previous bad paint job (drips and drops everywhere). Larry took the time to come out and see with his own eyes what the room was going to need and provided a description and quote on the spot. At first we thought it was a little high ($350 for one little room??), but agreed to it considering the "cheap" guys were only $50-100 less. In hindsight, considering the amount of work needed to make that room look good, it was completely and absolutely reasonable.
He arrived on time for both the quote and the work, and was courteous and professional the entire time. He painted the ceiling with ease, and sanded the walls down with a power sander and patched and primed. He taped with real painter's tape (not yucky cheap masking tape), covered our flooring, and put on two coats of the paint we provided (Sherwin Williams). He also spruced up our wood trim - I thought we were going to have to replace it (and we still might some day), but he made it look much better.
It 's great to find someone who takes pride in their work and doesn't sloppily rush through it to hurry up and get to the next job. He managed our expectations well (in terms of when he would be available, etc.) and I look forward to hiring him again in the future as soon as we pick out our colors.

    Joe's Painting
Before purchasing a LivingSocial deal, I emailed Joe to ask a few questions, the most important of which are below. He called a short while later and gave me answers, paraphrased below.
Q: The room I'd like painted (an office) ... needs some extensive prep work... Whoever last painted left drips all over and there are some nails popping out. Will this be a problem?
A: There may be an extra charge for the prep work because I might have to patch and wait a day for it to dry. (The charge was for the second trip.)
Q: Will you do the ceiling for an additional charge?
A: Yes, the extra prep work plus painting the ceiling will be $100.
I agreed to the additional charges and purchased the LivingSocial deal. My first concern was that this agreement was all done over the phone, so there was no paper trail (electronic or otherwise) regarding what we'd agreed the job would be. But he emailed back to set a date for the start of the job, so everything looked okay on the surface.
Now, before I start in on what went wrong, I completely understand that I was already getting a deal by going through LivingSocial. I offered to pay extra for the additional prep work and for the ceiling. I also explained that we weren't in a rush and if other client had a tighter deadline, then we'd be happy to wait a week or two.
The first hint of a problem came the night before he was scheduled to arrive. I emailed Joe to let him know we had purchased the paint and he replied saying that he was behind schedule, but he was sending two guys in the morning to complete the job. This was the first indication he gave that he would not be completing the job himself.
The next morning the two gentlemen arrived around the specified time, and I mentioned again that the room was going to need some extensive prep work. I left them to it and one of the men called for me a short while later. They had started on the first coat of wall paint (with little to no prep - just taped the trim with regular masking tape and started painting) and believed that the walls weren't in very good shape. They explained that they tried what they could (scraping and sanding some), but we both agreed that it just didn't look good because of the wall condition underneath. I called Joe who then called his workers and we all agreed to stop until Joe could come out and take a look himself. During my conversation with the two workers, I discovered they were completely unaware of the extra work Joe and I had agreed to in our phone call (extra prep and painting the ceiling).
Joe came out to the house the next day and agreed that the walls were in worse shape than he thought (this, even after I used the phrase "extensive prep work" no less than three times). He began to scrape and patch and mud over the first coat of paint and said it needed to dry for a day (this was a Friday) and he'd be back the next week. I happily agreed again; since our timeline was still intact, we could wait.
The next week came and went and I heard nothing. I emailed Joe the following week and he said, "Time has been flying by me. Be out there this week. So sorry. I'll call ya in the next day or two." That was two weeks ago. I've heard nothing back.
Again, I understand I was getting a deal. I agreed to pay extra for the extra work and tried to be accommodating to Joe's other clients and his schedule. However, the there was a distinct lack of communication both between Joe and his crew and Joe and me. Therefore, I am quite unsatisfied with this service provider and will be hiring a different painter to complete the job.

    Brown Painting
Mr. Brown was great to deal with.  He was very polite and professional when he came out to give me a bid and every day he was at my house working.  He said it would take him 4 to 5 days to complete the work and he finished in 4-1/2 days.  He does excellent work and I would definitely hire him again!

    Brown Painting
Larry scheduled the work for Tuesday, arrived on time and finished the work timely.  He did an excellent job.  The ceilings are perfect, no roller marks or marks on the walls.  He cleaned the area when he was finished and replaced any furniture he had to move.  Larry was very personable and I would highly recommend him to my family and friends.  I plan on having him come back at a later date and paint the rest of the rooms in the lower level.

    Turner Painting Co
Purchased deal on Angies list for $199 wallpaper removal for six hours of work.  All the wall paper was removed by one of the contractors employees in approximately four hours time.  Excellent job.  We have a friend that does painting so we chose our friend, but if I had other painting jobs, would definitely consider Turner Painting.

    Jericho Home Improvements LLC
When we first contacted Jericho, we knew exactly what we wanted for our remodel. (We had been planning this for at least 2 years). The designer that came out was Dan. We explained exactly what we had planned to do. He listened to everything we told him. We told him our budget and what we were expecting our kitchen to look like. He went to his car and brought back some samples and his computer so we could see some finished pictures. Then he showed us how he could draw out our new kitchen on the computer so we could see it or envision what it would look like after it was done.
He told us about Jericho. How they do things, like how most of the guys that would work on our house are their own employees, etc. We talked for a few hours that night. He was so knowledgeable about kitchens and design. We could tell that he really loved his company, but we felt even more that he cared about us!
We got back together almost 10 days later. We wished it could have been sooner, but wow, was it worth the wait! He showed us what our new kitchen would look like on his computer. It was nice. But then he showed us 3 other designs that he had done on his own. We were amazed. We had been planning this for over 2 years, but he came up with 2 designs we had never even thought of! They were phenomenal! Now we had to choose between 2 new designs. He carefully walked us through each of them, explaining the differences, square footages and work flow, etc. He even gave us a quote for both of them so we could compare the two! We chose the second one. It was a little higher, but we could see the value and thought it would be worth it.
We met again to finalize some of the colors. We got to choose our own granite slabs. That was the hardest part. There was so many beautiful colors to look at, but Dan walked us through the process and helped us make the right choices.
About 2 weeks later, we got together again with Dan. He brought another guy with him, Barry. He was going to be our project manager on our kitchen remodel. We spent probably an hour and a half talking, reviewing our project, and going over a couple of questions we had. They double checked some measurements and generally made us feel at ease that we had made a good choice with Jericho so far.
It took almost 2 months before Jericho started work on our kitchen, but they kept us in the loop the whole time. Barry called us weekly to just let us know what was going on. When they actually started, we had plenty of notice so we could clean everything out of the kitchen and prepare for D-day!
The first day of the tear-out was kind of messy, but the guys cleaned up real good. They protected our floors and even hung plastic to keep mot of the dust away from the rest of the house. You could tell that they cared. The installation process went pretty smooth. There was a couple of hiccups like the extra wiring in the walls that were removed. We changed a couple of things on the project, but Barry did a great job listening to us and giving us what we wanted. There was a couple of change-orders on our job. One for the stuff we added and one for the unexpected stuff in the wall removal, but I felt that Jericho was extremely fair, plus Dan had explained this to me.
6 weeks later, our kitchen was complete. It is fantastic. We cant wait to start having Thanksgiving and Christmas, or any other get- together at our house. We love showing it off. It was the best investment that we have ever made into our house! We love it!
I would so highly recommend Jericho to anyone!
