    Handyman Matters of Kansas City
He was prompt on arrival and we were impressed with his ideas. Weeks later I hadn't received a bid so I emailed him and he responded that he will have the bid within a few days but I still never received a bid. I went as far as to emailing him a few days ago asking for the bid and have never heard from him... It's been 5 weeks and nothing... very disappointing!

They did an excellent job. The work they did was very good. They followed up. I was very pleased with them. Actually I ended up using them again a second time for some more work. They returned calls. They were very good to work with. With regard to price, they were definitely not the cheapest and not the highest. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

    All Source Chimney Service LLC
They showed up on time and were very professional and courteous while working. The owner was one of the personnel who did the job and made sure that if any issues were to come up he would come back and ensure the issue was resolved for no additional charge.

    Neville Haynes Masonry
Neville responded promptly to our initial contact with a written bid, which was very competitive with the other bids. He started work the day after we accepted the bid and worked every day (weather permitting) until the job was done (which took approximately five days). He was pleasant and professional in his interactions, and did an excellent job with our brickwork. He caulked the cracks in our concrete driveway at no extra charge. Overall, he delivered even more than he promised.

It didn't go very well. It went so bad that when I get a big deal thing from now on, I just delete it. They charged me more because I had more work done. They did some work. They left for the day. I went up and looked at it. I ended up fixing it a lot better than they had ever done. The one guy really did a good job of fixing the bricks. P & V Masonry got so many calls that he, I think his name is Paul. He said that they got so much business that they actually had to bring in other workers. I didn't have P & V Masonry working on it, I have the people they brought in because they have so much business from the big deal. Had P & V Masonry done it, they're representing themselves. The guys they brought in were brick layers that had a lot of experience and that one guy really did a good job on a lot of stuff. The other guy, I wasn't really happy with the work he's doing. So, I called and told Paul that I wasn't satisfied with the work being done. It seemed to me that he was a little upset that I even contacted him because he had to come out here. He told me these guys would go over with the fine tooth comb all the places that they had missed that I thought should have been filled in. He came out there and said "I want you to go with me and show me all the places you're not happy with." So basically, instead of them going with the fine tooth comb, I was going over it and showing where I wanted things done which I picked up the cement and put it there myself. I saved that additional money. Then they talked me into putting additional flushing on my chimney. I already had some there. They said that when they would be doing this, they could actually bend it and actually cement it to the brickwork. It would seal up better. I'd say, as far as what they did on that flashing. I'm still embarrassed by the way it looks. The guy told me "That's the best thing that I can do."

I was in need of having some brick work done at a home that I was renovating for re-sale. Called Ken to make an appointment to discuss the project and receive a bid. He showed up on time the next day. I felt that his bid was fair and contracted him to do the work. His schedule allowed him to start the following week. All work was performed to my satisfaction in a timely manner. I plan to use Ken's services on another project at my current residence.

They replaced the brick on the chimney. They put the cement cap back on. They pointed and tucked it. They replaced broken brick. The stairs had a crack in it, and they fix it. There was some mortar missing so they were able to replace the top row of brick and replace the mortar. And the two side walls the same thing; they replaced the damaged brick; pointed and tucked and sealed it. They were able to get me in earlier. They called me and asked to start the work the next day. I was happy with the work. The whole service took about an evening the first day and early morning the next day. A total of about one day. Very professional and knew what they were doing.

The experience was great.  We called and quickly had someone there to give an estimate.  They were even able to work us into their schedule sooner than originally promised.  On the day of the work, they were there early, and worked efficiently.  As promised, first thing on the next day someone came to remove unused bricks and sweep the entire area.  They were all very professional and very friendly.

Met Deb and Steve in 2007. Over the next eight months, I interviewed and received estimates from five different contractors. I chose Thompson for several reasons. First, both Deb and Steve listened when we described what we wanted and took our ideas into account during the design phase. Communication was great. Second, was quality of work. Both Steve and his subs do great work. Third was price. Estimate was not the lowest, not the highest but right in the middle. Work started in January of '08 and was finished in August of '08, about three months past deadline. Mostly due to unforeseen circumstances. I had expected it so it didn't really bug me but be ready for it. Three things held up finishing. First, the conditions of the ceilings once the popcorn was scraped. Found out they had been nailed and were sagging(house is 30 years old). Had to screw everything down and then re tape everything, and paint. Second was when supplier made bathroom vanity the wrong size. Took about five weeks to get a new one. Third was when the counter top folks screwed up a countertop and had to re-make it. Deb and Steve dealt with each issue professionally, explained what as going on and kept things moving. Been finished for three months now and no real issues. Had one Grohe cartridge go bad and replace under warranty. Biggest surprise was how much work Steve does on his own. Based on the Reno home shows, we expected a crew of guys to show up. For the most part, it was Steve. He did bring in a sub to do the other bathroom and laundry room but again, that guy did most of the work. They did sub an electrician, who I will write about in another report. Currently, we're planing a kitchen and will call Thompson again.
