    Overall we were not impressed with the quality of the work. Our 3-4 week job took nine weeks to complete. Most of our job involved tile work which they were not good at. The first person they had working on the job was real slow and had difficulty with the vertical tiles on the shower wall. The replacement person was slightly better but the overall tile work is still not good. Some of the cut tiles were either cut using a dull blade or without a tile saw because the edges are chipped. The tiles are not all flush with each other on the vertical runs or even on the flat surfaces of the bathroom floor. The grout lines are not all the same spacing, especially where the tiles have been cut. The biggest issue we have with everything is the flooring of the shower. We have a pebble flooring and some of the pebbles have already popped out. In addition, the grout they used must have something wrong with it. The gray grout has turned an ugly orange/brown color that can't be cleaned, and where the water runs to the drain is causing troughs in the grout causing little river beds to form. When they left, the shower drain was not draining properly. I got my shop vacuum out and cleaned out the drain. They had left various junk down the drain from their job (pebbles from the shower floor, lots of little pieces of grout, and even a bottle cap off the sealant they put on). I believe they did a good job with the plumbing. We had a dual head shower converted to a single head shower with body jets that seems to be working well. We are happy with the vanity and granite top they installed (even though this is work they subcontracted). We did have to buy and install our own hardware for the vanity and the pegs for the shelving.

    Glenn@ Unique Epoxy was perhaps the best professional contractor I've ever dealt with. He picks up the phone, responded quickly with a fair and thoughtful bid, and even worked us in quickly into a very busy schedule. The work quality was exceptional and he dealt with spalling/cracking/erosion in floors that presented unique challenges to boot. The floors look gorgeous now and are something we love showing off. Trust the Google reviews and this one if deciding on an epoxy job, as he delivers exceptional value for the price.

    Empire Today��
    Working with Empire Today has been a complete nightmare, and I would not recommend them to anyone. I have paid for everything, but have yet to get the tile even scheduled because of their lack of communication. From the beginning, this has been a horrific experience. My original install dates for both carpet and tile was April 15th. At this point I had not paid for anything. On April 14th, I received two confirmation emails (one for carpet, one for tile), confirming my install was to happen the next day, April 15th. At 1230 on that Saturday, I had not heard from anyone, so I called the 1-800 number. They said my carpet showed it was to be installed the 17th (even though I scheduled this for the 15th, and had a confirmation email saying so), but they said the tile installed should have called by now, so they reached out to him. He claims he called me several times and was even out in front of my house, but since I didn't answer, he went to the next job and was not coming back that day. I had zero missed calls, and he even admitted to the empire rep that he did not leave a voicemail or knock on my door (even though he was sitting outside my house). He also did not contact empire to let them know he could not reach me. So I had to reschedule both carpet and tile for the following Saturday, the 22nd. The tile installer shows up shortly after 8a.m., I pay form the tile, and he begins work. The carpet installer shows up shortly after 9am, and sees that I am having tile done in the same room, and he says he cannot do the carpet while the tile is being done. So I have to reschedule the carpet, AGAIN. After about 6.5 hours of the tile installer being there, he calls me down to y basement. He shows me the tile, and says he cannot complete the job because some of the tile is 1/16th of an inch too big, so it is not lining up properly. He has to rip everything out that he has done and start over after he gets more tile in. He told me he would get more on Tuesday, but I had already scheduled the carpet to be done Tuesday, so he said he would come back to do the job (that I have already paid for) on Wednesday. I called on Saturday the 22nd to speak with a supervisor about all of this, but nobody ever called back. So on Tuesday the 25th, my carpet finally gets installed. I call to verify that my tile is still scheduled for Wednesday, the 26th, and they do not see that in their system. I ask to speak with a supervisor. I finally get a hold of one, and he tells me the installer should not have told me he would come back on the 25th. He says he will look into this and call me back in an hour. I never heard back from him. I called him back and left a message, still never heard back. I called the 1-800 number, and finally got a hold of a different supervisor, who told me the tile would not even be in stock until Thursday, the 27th. I asked if it would be possible to have it installed on a Sunday since they had made so many mistakes and that was the earliest day that worked for me. He said he would check with the installers, and assured me he would call me the following morning (Wednesday morning). By Wednesday afternoon I had heard nothing, so I called him back. He said his installer was unavailable on Sunday, so I asked him to contact a different installer. He said he was going to do that, and would call me back that same day. Never heard back from him. I now have an area of my basement that has had the originally flooring ripped out, and I have paid this company $1100 for this job. They have failed to contact me numerous times, even when I was told I would receive a call back by a specific person.

    Fish Flooring and Custom Staircases
    Shad came and gave me an estimate for the work to be done. Gave me info on selecting flooring. Beautiful flooring. Shad was able to work in conjunction with a kitchen remodel. The TILE and carpet was removed. There was a problem removing the mortar under the tile. Shad came back a few times, until he was able to get it all removed. The installation was quick and amazing. Floors are beautiful I could not be happier. Great job. Would definitely use Shad and his crew again. When work was done,price was right on the estimate. THANK YOU SHAD.

    Prompt response, good turn-around time, excellent communication throughout.  I was happy that I could discuss the project with Mike and although the project was a little out of the ordinary in terms of items to be resurfaced, we got it done and it looks beautiful.

    Stanley Steemer
    I asked Stanley Steemer to clean all the carpet in my house following a home remodel. When they arrived I let them know that the carpet was especially dirty. The workers took exactly 1 hour and 15 minutes to clean the entire house and an area rug. When the carpet dried you couldn't tell the carpet had been cleaned. Spots reappeared and there were obviously dirty areas remaining in the carpet. I asked them to come back and they offered to work on the spots but I insisted they reclean the entire carpet. It looked better after the second cleaning but spots still remained. I chose to clean the area rug again with a home carpet cleaner. The amount of dirt that came out of the area rug was unbelievable. I had to clean it multiple times to get the dirt out. It was clear that Stanley Steemer does a quick superficial job at best. I will end up paying another carpet cleaner to come back and reclean the carpet. I would have given them an F except for their willingness to come back out and reclean the carpets. But unfortunately I will be paying another company to clean everything again.

    The guy that did all of the measurements was extremely nice and very knowledgeable.  All the measurements came out right didn't have a problem at all.  We originally wanted to remove our kitchen flooring, but the gentlemen asked if we knew that it was hard wood.  We said no because when we bought the house we were told it was not.  So he talked us out of putting tile in the kitchen.  We will use Weber flooring to restain the flooring at a later time though.  After we picked out the flooring we wanted it only took 2 weeks to have the tile people to come out and install the tile.  Took them 2 days to do so.  Then had to wait 4 days before the carpet guys came to install the carpet.  That was not Joes Carpets fault they could have come the next day but I have a crazy work schedule.  The carpet guys were friendly and worked fast.  The moved all of the furniture and I haven't noticed any damage.  They did a wonderful job on our stairs looks amazing as does the rest of the house.  Would definitely buy from them again.

    I am very pleasantly surprised by the whole transaction with Nebraska Furniture Mart. My husband and I had gotten estimates from multiple companies for carpet. We went to NFM at the beginning of August when they were having a sale. The sales woman, unfortunately can't remember her name, was very helpful. She helped us understand the differences and strengths between different types of carpet. We ended up going with a Karastan with a 9lb pad.
    They came to measure later that week, and then they had to order the carpet in. My father-in-law was helping us with some upgrades to our home and NFM worked with him to schedule an install when he would still be in town. The installers were on time, professional, and did a fantastic job. Absolutely no complaints. Everything looks fantastic and feels fantastic under our feet. Will definitely use them again when we replace the carpet in the basement.

    My husband and I just bought a house and are looking to replace the carpet in the main floor of our home. We had gotten a previous estimate for carpeting and Empire was the second company to come and measure and give us an estimate. The saleswoman was very nice and knowledgeable, but the "policy" of how they do business makes no sense. The saleswoman measured our home and then showed us different options for carpet. We chose a few that we liked and that's where it got weird. She gave us "her" best price, which was $2000 over the estimate we'd received from the first company. She then said she had to "call her manager" to see if he could do any better. The first person she called would only go down to $3700 and "only if we signed today." The second person wouldn't answer. Then the third person would match our first estimate "only if we signed today." We made it perfectly clear that we only wanted an estimate and were no where near ready to make a decision. Not to mention, their guarantee says they'll beat any price, but they would only match our first estimate even though the carpet we picked with them was lower quality than the carpet we picked with the first company. All and all, we felt very pressured. We simply wanted an estimate not to participate in a bunch of games.
