    Concrete Design of KC, Inc.
The days they wanted to do the project we were on vacation so they started the project earlier so they could discuss the details at our house. We left for vacation the day they were pouring the concrete. The project leader made me feel at ease that we would return to an awesome new patio! He was right. They cleaned up everything and followed up when we returned to see if everything looked great. Everyone I dealt with was very professional. It is rare, in my opinion, to have a contractor with great skill/results and great customer service. I don't like leaving reviews and I am late giving this one, but I highly recommend them to someone else.

This company was amazing from start to finish. They gave us an estimate roughly $2000 less than the other companies that came to look at the work. We were scheduled about 2 1/2 months after we accepted the bid. They showed up right on time. They took the time to explain every step and to keep us posted on the progress. They took great care of our property and cleaned up afterward. The driveway looks gorgeous. If I ever need concrete work again, I will definitely call Shane.

    J & B ASPHALT PAVING CO LLC
They did not know what they were doing and installed everything wrong.  I live on a hill and because the driveway was not done correctly it caused flooding that was washing away the dirt along the driveway.  I contacted them about it and they wanted to charge me to fix their mistakes and then when I asked them for their insurance information to make a claim they refused to give it to me.  I would not use them for concrete work or a french drain installation.

Chad returned my call the next day after I left a message.  He was very knowledgeable and educated me over the phone about qualities that make his work above and beyond.  He came by the house that evening after finishing work and gave me a bid.  He indicated that he would have to charge 25 cents extra per sqare ft since I lived in Platte county and he is located South.  Had his bid not been significantly higher than my other bids I would have used him.  I would definitely recommend him to anyone in Johnson County.

I notice that his site on Angie's List says that there are no travel charges.

    All About Concrete
I decided to call All About Concrete for a quote because of all the amazing reviews I found on Angie's List.  I am happy about the work he did, however there are a few things I was concerned with.  He agreed to match the price of another quote we had received for a complete tear out and rebuild of our front porch ($2,300) along with adding a one lane driveway to a building we have on our property ($1,600).  He was supposed to show up on Friday, October 17th first thing in the morning.  He never showed up, never called.  My husband called him around noon and left a voice mail, as he stayed home that day to oversee the projects that were to have been started that morning.  My husband never received a call back from Paul.  On Saturday, I decided to call myself because I was concerned and wanted to clarify that we were all on the same page.  I never heard back from him on Saturday.  Sunday evening I received a call from Paul at around 8:45pm.  He explained that he didn't show up because some of his guys decided to sleep in and he had his grandson that day.  Paul also told me that the reason he didn't call was because he had told my mother and father in law that he would start Friday, not me.  He didn't feel it was necessary to call to inform me.  I was bothered by it, but let it go because of the outstanding reviews I had read, I figured it was an honest mistake.
He let me know that he would be there first thing in the morning (Monday, October 20) to get the work started.
Paul and his crew showed up on time as arranged Monday morning.  After the steps of our front porch were taken out, he called my husband to let him know that the stones on our home were shaking due to the jack hammer and he would suggest pouring a slab over the existing slab, rather than taking out and rebuilding.  Paul dropped the price to $2,000 since he would no longer be doing the labor of jack hammering and tearing out a large porch.  I was concerned that the price for such a small job was too much, since he only dropped it by $300.  After talking with him, he kept the price the same because he has already price matched.
The projects were finished the evening of October 21st, with the molds being taken off the morning of the 22nd.  The front porch looks great along with the driveway.  My mother in law showed up at our home to pay the remaining balance and she wanted to get some clarifications for the price of $2,000 for the porch when it was no longer a tear out and rebuild.  Paul was not very accepting to her question and did nothing to help her understand the little price drop for the project.  We were in no way trying to offend him or his company, we just wanted to make sure we are getting a fair price since we were unable to get other quotes for the skim coating over our existing porch.
I am hoping this is just an isolated case of the company not receiving an "A" rating.  I completely understand that everyone has an off day and not all jobs go exactly as planned.  Paul's employees were very respectful and finished product looks great.

    All About Concrete
We had several vendors provide estimates for the job. Of all of them, Paul had by far the best price. He went above and beyond in customer service to make sure that the process went smoothly. He was kind enough to meet with our insurance adjuster to make sure that all of the appropriate damage was reimbursed. Despite some extra unexpected work (over 12 inches of asphalt), we were not charged a cent above the estimated price. Throughout the job, Paul and his crew were a pleasure to work with, very professional and courteous.
Paul's crew started promptly on tearing out the old driveway. After tearing out the old concrete, his crew was careful about making sure we had a path for us to be able to walk down the muddy driveway, which was very much appreciated. They all worked very quickly and efficiently, staying later than we expected in the evenings to ensure that the work was done in a timely manner. We couldn't be happier with our new driveway, it is such an improvement. Paul's experience in the industry allowed him to quickly identify what went wrong with our previous driveway, including insufficient control joints, not enough rebar, and no gravel, no drainage pipe, among others. He corrected all of these deficiencies and I am confident our driveway will last decades.
    And its pretty! Thanks, Paul!

Ron was very prompt & professional. He answered all my questions & provided new insight regarding options available for my home project. The crew showed up on time, performed the tear out and replacement & cleaned up property when they finished.
Concrete Design KC performed above my expectations and I recommend.

    AFFORDABLE MUDJACKING
We asked Affordable Mudjacking to fill some areas under out front sidewalk and driveway that had been hollowed out by drainage and animals.  Tom quickly came out and gave us a reasonable quote, and they performed the work soon thereafter.  They were able to repair our sidewalk without drilling any holes, and they did a nice job of repairing the hole they had to drill for the driveway repair.  They did a nice job, and I would hire them again.

The work was A+ and they did good work. The cost was comparable to the other bids we received. We worked with Tony. The day he came into work he all the correct tools and items and finished the work in about 3/4 of a day.

Our driveway was in pretty bad shape. Structurally ok, but the surface had started to flake up and was covered with pot marks and a few minor cracks. Basically it was looking ugly.
Tim Myers, the owner, came over on Saturday to discuss with us exactly what they do. He explained their product and the entire process to us. He also helped us pick out the colors to use.
The entire process took 2 days. The first day the crew completed the front porch, sidewalk, and the driveway border. On the second day they completed the driveway.
The entire process went exactly as we were told and the end result turned out even better than what we were expecting.
Tim and the crew were all great and I would highly recommend anyone looking to upgrade the appearance of their drive to give these guys a call.
