Although overall, all the work was done very well, on the last visit, numerous times we unexpectedly came upon Mr. Potter (when he was unaware we were there) talking to others, either customers, and/or other vendors, about other work he was doing. At one point, he openly was trying to get another customer to pay her bill, while Mrs. Olsen was standing right in front of him. We later notified him (Mr. Potter), that it was not all right to be working on other jobs, while we were being charged by the hour, for the work he was completing for us. Mr. Potter was greatly offended that we made a complaint about his conduct, and suggested we should move on, and we agreed, as our trust of Mr. Potter was greatly compromised.

John had been recommended by a local salesperson who said he did a similar job for him.
He had come out a couple of weeks earlier to scope the job and give an estimate.
No quote was ever given in writing; as near as I can recall he said somewhere over $500 but definitely less than $1,000, including and depending on the bracket required.
    (the TV itself cost $1,200)
John is a very personable and likeable guy.
He arrived with a bracket that was totally inappropriate and admitted to not being familiar with the bracket installation.
I had to run out and purchase a suitable bracket for $300.
He worked from approx 9:30 to 3:30 and took a lunch while I was getting the proper bracket at a BestBuy.
    He charged me $850.
When I asked for an itemized bill he would not provide one but claimed he had made a math error and the bill "should have been $700 since I quoted $1,000".
When I said this makes no sense to me and asked again for a bill showing materials and labor he became evasive.
He finally did drop off a refund check of $125 after several weeks of follow-up; which brought his charge to $725 (by his own admission incorrect).
I figured at most he had $75 of materials, leaving $650 in labor.  For 6 hours that comes to over $108/hour.
When I pointed this out his wife's response was basically "too bad, the quote was for $1,000" (she did not dispute the fact nothing was ever written up.
The insert and bracket are adequate but there is NO WAY that they justify $625 in labor.
The area I live in is a resort area, very busy in the summer and very slow in winter.  All the contractors I have worked with in the past have been fair and reputable if not totally professional. I regret that I invested the same amount of trust in John and did not require a written quote before hiring him.
If you do hire him don't make the mistake I made and hang on to your wallet....

Allen Baker of Cornerstone Homes in Osage Beach, Mo. is starting a new business here.  We had a small remodeling job and two other people we called for bids either didn't show up or weren't interested in the project.  Mr. Baker was prompt to give us a bid and was very reasonably priced.  He actually showed up on time to begin the job and came prepared with the tools and materials to do the job so he didn't have to leave numerous times. He said he would have the job done in one day and stayed until 7:00 to keep that committment.  He did a wonderful job and I would recommend him for any kind of job including ground up construction.

Peacock came highly recommended on Angie's List so we called him. He arrived punctually and gave us a fair quote of $1100. We bought tile and grout based on his measurements and he bought the paint. About 2-3 days after starting job we received a call asking for $3-400 more. Okay, unforeseen problems, I understand that can happen. So we came down the following week to check out work and pay Jonny Peacock. The tile floor was great looking and living room paint job was beautiful. There was however some issues. Three window frames had not been painted and there was a large smudge of something above the doorway. He assured us that he would come back on Monday and fix the issues. The bill he presented was for $1800 or $700 more then agreed too. Jonny Peacock charges customers 20% tax on bill total to pay his self employment tax. Not even sure if this is legal because I claim bill as upkeep on my taxes. Anyway, the major disappointment comes from being lied too. We came down a month later and windows were unpainted and smudge was still there. Being from Midwest we are used to hand shakes and your word being everything. Sounds old fashioned but we have bought farms on hand shakes. Last point is, there was at least 12 -15 tiles left over from job. These were large expensive tile with a small 20+ square foot bathroom, how do you miss an estimate by that much ?

    Elite Roofing & Siding
The description above should let you know how the roofing installation went overall, but just in case it doesn't. The team @ Elite Roofing & Siding did an amazing job, that was finished in a timely manner. They actually finished the job before I expected them to. Jason Sherrow & his team were easy to work with and made the entire project a success!

    Daniel T Phelps Construction
I got several bids before hiring Daniel. He was hired to replace my decks. He did! They will last longer that my house! Beautiful high quality work. This man takes pride in all he does. While he was working on the decks, I mentioned several "honey-do" jobs, a leak, ice maker, things that add up. He did them in a flash! And did them right! After seeing how good, fast, & reasonable he was, I had him replace my windows. Again, same speed, & quality of work. During the bidding, ordering & waiting on some special orders, he called me. Kept me up to date on what was going on. Just prior to starting the windows, the rain started - and kept on! Danield saw a break in the forcast, called and ask if he could start on a Sunday morning. NO EXTRA CHARGE! I said "Sure!" One question you ask is, "Would I hire him again?" Already have! Next week, he is going to redo the walls & ceiling in the guest bathroom! I CAN'T WAIT!!
