Marble & Granite reviews in Olivette

This is an excellent company. We decided to upgrade our kitchen from the builder grade originally in the original house. We first met with the owner, Andy and then with one of his designers, Brian. Both very knowledgeable with tons of ideas and pictures from past kitchen remodels. We did not need to reconfigure just upgrade the cabinets and counter tops and appliances. Their suggestions were right on with our vision and Brian saw the entire project though from the first demo-ed cabinet to the Viking range. Our kitchen remodel turned out fantastic. The price was not cheap, but neither is quality and result which we expected and were willing to pay for. Actually we thought the price was very reasonable.

Rick at Aphrodite is a true craftsman. He helped us find and pick the perfect pieces of granite. He made great recommendations to achieve our vision for our new house. Rick and his team created a massive granite counter for our kitchen island from on solid piece of amazing granite. He told us it weighs more than 1,000 lbs. It is beautiful and the conversation piece in our home. Thank you Rick and the Aphrodite team for all your hard work, passion and amazing workmanship!

We originally obtained quotes for our kitchen, master bath and guest bath from K&D. We have the paperwork showing the remnant price for the guest bath is $1250. There is nothing anywhere on any of the original paperwork stating it would be more if we opted to do our kitchen / master bath tops elsewhere. There is a small note on the bid saying "prices are subject to change at any time" which is a bit obnoxious in my opinion. We liked one of the remnants, so we decided to move forward. After we had already driven out to Trenton, IL to look at the granite remnant (with an infant), we called to place a deposit on it. We were then told the price would be changing to $1435. This price was supposed to include installation, delivery and doing the measurements. I was unhappy about the shifting price, but figured it still wasn't outrageous to pay that amount. When I called to have someone come out to take measurements, I was told that would be an additional charge because we weren't doing the kitchen / master bath. WHAT?!? That's what the upcharge to $1435 was supposed to be for! So I had my other granite guy - the guy that was over 30% cheaper than K&D for the same product (it's installed and looks phenomenal) - take the measurements. Then when K&D has finished fabricating it, they call to say we can pick it up or have it delivered for $60. I opted to pick it up at the store which is what I was told I could do. I rented a truck and all of a sudden I can't pick it up at the store! I would have had to drive out to Trenton again. So we had them deliver the granite. They couldn't give me any more information than they would be there "after noon" which is crazy when you end up having to take the day off of work to accommodate the delivery. Then we were called & told it would be there in under 30 minutes and it took almost an hour from then. Also for whatever reason, the driver parked at the curb, so he and my husband had to carry the top a significant distance more than if he had driven up the driveway.
I know there are a lot of positive reviews on here for K&D, but I would beware of the nickel & diming they did on my remnant project. I am not unhappy with the vanity top - it's beautiful! However, the experience of dealing with K&D is one I'm not anxious to repeat.

I went to Hallmark to select and decide which granite sections I wanted for the various templates. Gary was helpful and patient during my selection process of laying out the templates on the granite slabs. We had to move the slabs around and rotate the slabs a few times which he was happy to do. Their templaters and installers were on time and professional. Clay came out to make sure everything was the way I wanted it. Jeanne was the rep I worked with. She was the sour grape of the bunch. Her customer service was not as consistent as the other employees at Hallmark. I got her voicemail most of the time and she was was either slow to return my call or after a few days of not hearing back I would have to call again. She seemed impatient or rushed on the phone when I spoke to her. Sometimes she seemed friendly other times not. Overall I would say I am happy with the outcome. However if I were to use them again I'd work with a different sales rep.

I worked with Sylvia Woody. She was professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. She helped make an overwhelming decision process go smoothly. She returned my phone calls promptly and emailed me photos of a few slabs I was having a hard time deciding between. I have referred a few friends to ISC who have also had a positive experience. They also have a showroom for tile at a separate location that was great to work with and had a large selection of tile on display.

I am a Realtor and have had clients use Amants and I recommend them and have met the owners, but I have not used them myself.
