    Mike Murgatroy Guaranteed Rate Mortgage
We were shopping for a mortgage company and I contacted Mike.  He responded within a day or so.  Unfortunately, they can't do business in MO unless they have a brick and mortar presence in the state.  He did offer to vet the paperwork for us no matter who we went with.  That wasn't practical, given the amount of paper involved but it was a nice gesture.  Also, we needed a very short turn-around time, three weeks, and he said he couldn't do it.  It remains to be seen whether or not the bank we chose is able to come through.  It all depends on the appraiser.  I gave them a "C" on price since that didn't apply.

    Roof Rehab, LLC
Perfectly done, was advised to go with rolled roofing on porches due to pitch, upgraded to architectural shingles over 3-tab for same price. Joel with Roof Rehab came down and looked at the roof, and then came back when the inspector was here. We all 3 talked through the process so everyone knew what to expect. Roof Rehab was in contact with myself and the insurance Co to make sure there was nothing that fell through the cracks. The Roof Rehab crew, tore off, disposed of the material, and put on the new roof, cleaned up, and rolled the area with a magnet to pick up any loose nails in 1 day.

    Cox Medical Ctr South
They helped me with a problem I was at another hospital prior, Cox gave me great care. They got the internal bleeding stopped, they took a couple biopsies, and gave me medicine for the pain. I am still waiting on the results, but the staff was great. The Drs the nurses, the aides, everyone was great. They even sent me a "Get-Well" card. They also discovered I was suffering from pneumonia, treated me and I am feeling much better now.

    Robinson Roofing & Construction
When he showed up he came prepared with materials already in his truck, He'd quoted us a higher price originally, but when he saw the actual amount of work there was (we were only doing this because our insurance company insisted before they will insure our new home) less then he'd expected, he reduced the price by over $100.00.  We could not be happier with his work and attitude, he was very helpful and I will definitely call this company first if we ever need more roof work.

    Cutberth Construction
Chris Cutberth is quite nice but the experience with his company was terrible. I do not feel his workers are capable and they didn't even know how to install siding. They left their food trash in the sunroom under a pile of construction trash. I could not understand where all the insects were coming from until I decided to spend my day cleaning up the trash and found all the rotten food. I have had two houses built during my life and could have built a house in the time it took on our deck and sunroom project. The work was sloppy and he constantly need more and more funds to get his guys to come out and work. One week he refused to come out because I didn't feel comfortable giving him any more money since there was only $5,000 to be paid on this $75K project with a lot more work to be finished. While he was working for us he was sewed by two other customers and his bank account was frozen. We then had to spend even more money to buy materials if we wanted it to be finished. In the end he walked off the job and left us with an unfinished project and trash and construction trash all over the back yard. There was so many nails and sharp shards of metal siding we had to carefully clean up . We hired someone else who had to reinstall the doors that were installed because they were not installed right. We still have leaking into the sunroom we are trying to figure out and are considering taking him to court after having to spend several thousand dollars more to get this project finished.

    Affordable Roofing
Damaged material was not removed, roof was "repaired" using caulk not tar.  There are more leaks now than before.  Three weeks later and Affordable Roofing will not stand behind their 5 year guaranteed work.  Had another contrator look at the work and was told that the amount paid far superseded the work completed, i overpaid.  Company promised to come back, never showed up.  They will not return calls. I do not recommend Affordable Roofing, because they are most certainly not.

    F&B Financial Group
Matt Scott, a VP under Chris Fox at F&B, was quick to respond to our inquiry about a loan.  However, from the moment we signed the contract with them, there were problems with responsiveness.  There was poor communication, delays, repeated requests for the same documents, etc.  This is our 4th home purchase, 2nd in < a year, and it was an emotional roller coaster ride I would not willingly repeat.  We had multiple closing dates mostly because they could not get documentation together.  We were told we could close within our time frame, but things kept getting delayed and the blame game began.  We had to have multiple extensions to our contract with the seller, extension of our rate lock, etc.  Matt said, "Does it really matter if you close tomorrow or ten days from now?"  Well, YES, it does.  If you go out of contract because the seller won't waste any more time with you and moves on to the next buyer, if you have to scramble to find somewhere for you and your kids to live for those extra ten+ days, if you loose the price you negotiated with seller because they are tired of the endless delays, if you loose the rate you locked in because rates are climbing, it does indeed matter WHEN you close, not just that you do close mainly because another delay could mean you never close.  There were multiple people at F&B involved in the process and we would get conflicting information from the various parties.  It was obvious that these people were not communicating well during the process.  Getting someone to actually speak to you on the phone was beyond difficult.  I adamantly complained about that and it got better, but toward the end of the process, it became increasingly frustrating.  I attempted to contact Mr. Fox during the process, but he was on vacation.  However, him not responding to an email of this nature upon his return, from someone HIS company is doing business with, speaks volumes to me.  Our real estate agent, who has at least 10+ years of experience, agreed this was the absolute worst closing she has had in her entire career and F&B Financial joined the one other company on her "do not work with, EVER" list.  I don't blame her as the multiple closing dates put dings in her reputation with the title company and people she has to work with on a daily basis.  The bottom line to us was the loan company could not fulfill their end of the contract within the promised time.  We strongly considered buying out of the deal, but our realtor recommended against it and we did finally close.  Trust me, you do NOT want to deal with these headaches during an already stressful time in your life.  Find another reputable financial company in your area.  I have had good experiences with local credit unions.

    Guido's Pizza
There was a Hair in our salad. The server exclaimed "That is too light to be mine!!" She made my mom sit there holding it several moments before she finally took it away and replaced the salad. I sat for about half the meal with an empty glass. When we took some crackers out of the basket they had been chewed by a mouse! I think we were just too shocked to realize we should get the heck out of there but we actually waited for our pizza. The shrimp on mine smelled like it wasn't washed properly. It was fishy. We complained to the manager and she took the salad off the ticket. She argued with us the whole time we were standing there. We were so angry at her argumentative and rude attitude we finally asked her to comp the meal. She argued some more and was really rude. The server didn't back us up, she ran off to hide in the back. Two other employees stood watching with their mouths open, well one did, the other stood watching and munching on crackers behind the bar. The manager (?) finally called the owner, he refused to do anything for us. We go there every year for my brother's birthday, we had friends and family and it was a special occasion. It was awful. I have heard since that G****'s used to be good but had declined dramatically. The restaurant is obviously dirty if there is hair in the food and mice chewing the crackers. I don't recommend this place. The pizza is unimpressive. I had heard it was good but our crust was hard, and way too crunchy. If you have cash to spend in this terrible economy, don't spend it here. Spend it where the service is good and the facility is CLEAN.  It seems to me they don't care about their customers. We go more than once a year and for that $40.00 they could have earned our continued business that is worth much more!

    Daycare Central
First of all my son didn't get a good lunch there. Then my husband was late to pick him up one night. He called to tell them he was stuck in traffic and would be late. Trudy then started cussing at him in front of my son telling his to pick up his God D*** kid now and that my son was kicked out. She dropped the F-bomb about 5 times. Then the next day we were visited by Child Services. Trudy told them that our house was not clean and that we were neglecting our son. She had never been to our house and had only taken care of my son 3 times. My husband and I both had to miss a day of work over this and my son who is 8, was crying and traumatized. Our house was not found to be dirty and we were not found neglectful. We were told the call was made probably to inconverience us and to get us in trouble. This was a terrible punishment on my child and the behavior of this business is unforgivable. Anyone who sends their child there is asking for their child to be mistreated and is asking for trouble.
