    AD'S TEAM ELECTRIC, LLC.
Anthony replaced around 30 light switches and tracked down and fixed wiring errors caused by a previous person by pulling new wire through the attic. Anthony was very thorough in performing the work. This is the second time we have used him for electrical work.

Brian did an outstanding job of remodeling our bathroom. He was detail oriented in all aspects of the job. He was a true professional and very much cared that the remodel was done right. it was a real joy to see someone or cared about Quality and doing the job the right way. I would hire Brian again.

    Renovation Pros
Renovation Pros KC recently completely refaced my entire kitchen with incredible results. Chad Stock came out to our home twice with samples, and really spent time with me to ensure the finished product would be exactly what I wanted. I felt extremely comfortable with his work crew in my home, and they cleaned up daily before they left. The job was done on time, and to my extreme satisfaction. Chad even recommended some inexpensive design changes that made a world of difference to the look and efficiency of my kitchen. He was able to work around my existing granite counters and tile backsplash. My new cabinet doors are thick, solid quality wood with a beautiful finish. The drawers were completely replaced with larger drawers that slide closed silently. An unused wine rack in the old cabinets was converted to additional, hidden storage with cabinet doors. The huge light box over the island was removed, and the island cabinets were stained a contrasting luscious dark chocolate. The old, outdated Golden Oak is gone! My husband and I could not be happier with the value and quality of our new kitchen! The pictures attached to this review are Before & After. The light, golden oak is before, and the gorgeous cherry cabinets are the finished product. I attended the Home Show and researched several companies with quotes before choosing Renovation Pros KC. The kitchen is the heart of my home, and results were incredibly important to me. I'm glad I chose this company to work with.

The company sent 2 workers. They installed some lights. I wanted them to do some work in my basement but they didn't do it correctly. Overall, it didn’t go well. They didn’t complete the job to my satisfaction.

    Karl Ross Construction
The overall experience with Karl was very professional and pleasant. His original estimate was competitive. It was not the cheapest nor was it the most expensive (hence the B rating) but the actual bid out was a very good experience. Instead of just assuming things, he actually (with my permission) knocked a hole in the wall to see exactly what he was getting into to make sure he could give me the most accurate estimate possible. (The area he knocked a hole in was currently unusable.
Once we decided to go with Karl, he told us exactly when he would be available and how long it would take. One of the main reasons we chose Karl was his ability to squeeze us between a couple other jobs he already had planned. Other bids we received could not start work for months and our shower was unusable in the leaky state it was in. Karl was not available via text or email (only phone calls) but was NOT hard to get ahold of. If he did not answer (usually he did) he promptly returned phone calls. This was a nice piece of customer service that you would think most contractors had but sadly that is not the case. Karl was always very responsive and informative from beginning to end.
He started on schedule and gave details daily on where he was at and what was going to happen next. I was very well informed throughout the entire process. He gave good suggestions on what he thought would look nice and also provided insight on some decisions that did influence some of our choices. His experience showed when we discussed various options throughout the process. He would give pros and cons and also his suggestion on path forward. Usually we did end up going with his suggestions. His allowance for tile already included in his estimate was more generous than our other offers and, when were shopping for what he wanted, was easily attainable. The sub contractors that Karl chose to assist with the shower, cabinets and granite were in and our with no issues. They came when Karl said they would, they were done when he said they would be, and he was here the entire time to ensure they did a good job.
The only slight hiccup in the timeline was not at the fault of Karl. The tile shop ensured us that our choices for floor and shower tiles were in stock. This was not the case with our accent tiles for the shower which we found out later. The tiles were not going to arrive until two days after the shower was supposed to be done. This pushed the entire project back a couple days. I believe instead of ending on the Friday that Karl promised, it was completely finished the following Tuesday or Wednesday. Again not Karl's fault, and we took advantage of his free time and asked if he could install a bathroom fan in our other bathroom and he did at an additional labor cost.   We intentionally decided to pain ourselves to save a little money. We were trying to coordinate the light fixture and mirror install and wanted to have a coat or two of paint on the walls until all of that was installed. We had already purchased the paint and Karl did offer (at no additional cost) to throw up a coat for us on that wall before he installed the fixtures. That was a nice gestures that was not in the contract that he did do for us.
Karl seems to be very good at many things. He was able to remove old popcorn ceiling, and entire closet and wall while doing the remodel. There was also a plan to lengthen the shower which required moving some hidden plumbing. When this was found, he did not raise the estimate. It was nice to know that when unexpected things come along (and the always do) that the price remained the same. There was even a curve ball we threw in the middle of the job where we asked him to NOT install a soap dish which was included in the estimate and to install an accent tile strip instead. He did so with no complaints and no change to the estimate (even though I think the tile cost more than the soap dish we were replacing)
Now for the parts of the experience that did not impress me as much. I thought that, given the total amount of this project, that everything should have been included. Most everything was but we had to additionally purchase a replacement bathroom fan, accessories like toilet paper holder, towel holders, and mirrors. He did include the labor to install whatever we wanted but did not actually purchase those items. I assume with Karls, experience, he had reasons for omitting the objects he did but he could always have an allowance up to a certain amount for these items. I just thought it was silly that I am paying 16,000 for a bathroom and I have to also buy a toilet paper holder.
For the most part Karl was very precise and paid attention to detail I had very bad experiences in the past with contractors trying to pass off bad work intentionally. I do not think that was the case with Karl but there were two issues (only two) with his work that I considered sub par. The first was that he had issues correctly centering  the mirrors, light fixtures, and faucets. The faucets weren't going anywhere so the lights and mirrors needed to be centered with the faucets.  They were not so I called him and he immediately came over the following day and corrected the issue. But then after the correction was made and he left again, they were still not lined up correctly. So I called again and he came back and with me standing there, had me confirm they were good before he left because he really didn't want to come back again for this same issue. Yes he did keep coming back until the issue was fixed but my wall looks like swiss cheese behind the mirrors if I ever choose to buy a different mirror.
The second detail that was missed was his tiling job in the shower which is the sole reason he received a B in quality. I realize all tile jobs are not perfect. Karl's tile job on the floor was sufficient with a couple raised tiles here or there but good for the most part. The shower unfortunately was not that great. There were several tiles that were slightly raised and a couple that were very uneven. One in particular was flush with other tiles in the upper right of the tile but the lower left was sticking out at least a quarter inch higher then the other tiles. The corners specifically must have proven tricky because they were a bit of a mess. Luckily the tile is a dark grey and it is hard to see unless you get really close or run your fingers over the tiles. It is not a glaring issue that I see everyday or that anyone else has noticed but the job was not done well. When mentioned to Karl, he apologized but did nothing else. I realize that he could not just take off one tile and replace it. Instead it would have required to take the wall down and start over. We chose not to push this  and just had to accept the fact that he couldn't do anything about it. There were no other offers or discounts or anything to remedy the situation. Only an apology. I think, in my opinion, there should had have been something offered to make up for the bad tile job but there was nothing. Because of all the other positives that came with the job we let it go.
I don't want to end this review with all the negatives. Overall, this was one of the best experiences we have had with a contractor. We have had floors redone, roofs replaces, windows replaced, exterior railings installed, a custom kitchen remodel, etc done in the past and Karl's master bathroom job was one of the better jobs we had done both quality wise and customer service wise. We would definitely go with Karl again in the future when we are ready to remodel something else in the house. I have explained why we have downgraded some things to a "B" rating. The experience was not perfect but it was definitely above par and the final product does look very very nice.

Quoted three separate services and I thought all were very expensive quotes.  Used the deal offered on Angie's List for the two story chandelier install but passed on the other two services due to high estimated cost.

Once they got here, it was okay.  It took a while for the schedule to match.  They came out and did three different jobs.  There was some confusion and didn't know why that happened.  If one bundles job, it cost less.  I didn't know I wanted to do all the jobs because I knew it was more than what I wanted to spend, so I wanted to know what it would cost.  By the time they bundled them, I didn't ended up doing quite what they bundled.  It got a little messy.  My husband had contacted them because he got a gift certificate.  Not everybody seemed to know what it was all about, so there was some confusion.  The work was fine.

I cannot believe how fortunate we were to find Karl.  We had had referrals from two other sources from folks we knew well, but decided to take a look at Angies List to see who might be available in our area.  Karl's reviews were outstanding.  He came out within a couple of days, gave us a reasonable bid and started the ball rolling.  He took care of all the details, managed the timing of the remodel perfectly and completed the work within a sooner than expected time period.  We love our new look, we wanted a look of "wow" and got it.   - Karl and his crew of two at our home were true  professionals, reliable, responsible and reasonably priced!  Our plans are to use him after the first of the year to remodel our master bathroom.

    Karl Ross Construction
Our house is only twelve years old, and we are the first owners.  This project started out as master bathroom remodel and grew from there.  The floor of the shower cracked, as did several of the tile floor in three different places.  So needless to say, we are not very impressed with the quality of the original construction.
We went with Karl after receiving another bid that used different people for different phases of the construction.  Karl does all of his own work, which we felt would be a plus by having fewer people in and out of the house during the construction, when we were not home.
He started when he promised and would have finished on time had the kitchen counter tops delivered in a timely manner.  They were delayed into the first week of January.  He gave us a fully functional kitchen while we waited for the new counter tops.
He also kept the upstairs bathroom fully usable until the master bathroom was usable again.
On a project like this that had a lot of dry wall removed, plan on a thorough house cleaning when the project is complete, because plaster dust gets everywhere.  Plastic sheeting in door ways just can't keep all the dust at bay.  We also plan to have the carpet cleaned when spring comes.
We certainly will consider Karl if we decide to do any additional remodeling.

    DONE RIGHT CONTRACTING
One thing Shawn arranges for is to have a lady come in and clean/dust everything after they are done with dry wall sanding and such. That was a nice bonus.  He also found a spectacular carpet cleaner guy to get out stains and wax tracked in on carpeting. Carpet still looks great!

Shawn has a helper named Mike, and Mike is a hard worker. Mike shows up on time, and works as long as he has to without complaining. Shawn does have sub contractors for dry wall and painting.  His painter (Melbin) does an awesome job, but some of the guys that help Melbin are rather sloppy, leaving paint in sinks and splatters on counters.  Shawn made sure it was all taken care of later on though.  Shawn's dry wall guy (Carlos) knows how to get the job done pretty well, but wasn't very conscientious about making sure surfaces were protected (like floors, carpets, etc) from the dry wall compound, and he dumped the waste down in the street sewer- a big "no-no."
I agree with another reviewer that stated Shawn seems to have a lot of things suddenly "come up" and seems to have too many "irons in the fire." There were several times when Shawn didn't show up when he said he would. Sometimes we would be contacted as to why, other times not.  I think this is common among contractors, unfortunately. They seem to have a whole different concept of time.

Shawn finished the job within a week of our deadline. We had some unexpected add-ons that understandably lengthened the job.
