    Hansman Heating & Cooling
When our heat pump went out I did, like the majority of owners would do to secure HVAC bids is google the local listings. I did and one of the bids secured came from Hansman Heating and Cooling. During the process of securing bids the owner came in not as the lowest but one that was associated with the Ameren rebate program. As a result with the rebate, the effective cost was lower than the other bidders plus the company was recommended by Ameren. In an area of unpredictable labor service and summer time weather(it seems that everyone needs cooling service), I was very pleased with his professionalism in his work ethic and by showing up as slated. I was impressed that they took time to explain everything, the quality of workmanship and the way they cleaned up after themselves. I would recommend them to anyone in the lake area.

    Lansford Solutions LLC
Brady came to my home 3 different occasions doing various trouble shooting techniques as well as fixing each problem as it appeared. While this may seem time consuming ? A repair is pennies on the dollar compared to replacing my entire system (a suggestion by other HVAC tech's) Landsford Solutions may be the new kid on the block. But they have all my business from here forward. They are super high tech / trained in various degrees at Florida HVAC tech and they can provide you with their certifications. Ask them. They are top shelf technicians.

We were very pleased with all aspects of the service. The new units are working great and the installation was completed as promised on time. They were very careful inside and outside of our home - protecting the carpet and keeping the areas clean.

    Controlled Heating & Cooling

Our heating/cooling system was elderly and we decided that rather than waiting for an emergency, we would be proactive in replacing it.

Jesse from Controlled Heating came to our home and recommended an Amana 3 Ton 15 Seer Heating Pump.  The cost was $5,600.  (Two of our neighbors who have villas the same square footage and design had made similar replacements at the cost of $7000.)

The installation was completed in one day by workmen who were efficient and courteous.

For the first time since we have owned this house our lower and upper levels have the same temperature.  No more wearing extra sweaters in the downstairs family room!

In addition Jesse told us about Ameren?s rebate for installation of an energy saving device, did the paper work which facilitated our receiving a nice check which further reduced our total cost.

We have used Controlled Heating for 28 years and continue to trust them for all our heating and cooling needs.

Comfort care installed a new heat pump for me.  They came out at my
request and gave me a bid, as did one other local company.  Comfort
care's bid was about $2,000 lower on a $6,000 job.  They showed up when
they said they would, and did what they said they would in the time they
said it would take.  So far the equipment is working as a new unit
So far, a pleasant experience and I'd use them again.

    Dan's AC Service
I called the company because I found my air conditioning filter was wet. I talked to the technition and explained the problem. He asked questions and  came to a conclusion. I had made an error  by closing most of the vents in my house which was causing the problem. He gave a detailed explanation of why this was the problem. instead of coming out and charging me a service call for something that did not need to be repaired he told me what I had done and told me  to open the vents. I was so impressed! ! If I ever need service in the future I will call Dans Heating and Air Conditioning.

    Sears Appliance Repair
Began as a disaster.   Sales rep completely incompetent.  Failed to tell us the installers would have to rip out the walls and ceiling of our finished basement in order to install this heat pump system.  They would not be responsible for repairing them.  We stopped that process and Sears agreed to let us keep the Heat Pump system to be used as an A/C unit only.  Refunded $800.   In addition, sales rep had committed to replacing an old A/C PVC drain system.  The installers had no clue about this and failed to bring proper supplies.  Refused to do this, even though contract clearly stated it.
Sales Rep (Dennis Kamman) had told us the Ameren rebate forms would be mailed to us within 4-6 weeks, all we had to do was sign  and mail them.  Never showed up.  He failed to respond to emails or further contact.
When I replied to Sears Home Services initial email about how unhappy I was and inquired about the rebate forms, the Regional Manager in St Louis said he'd get on the rebates and take care of them for us.  We never received anything.  Repeated contacts to this guy also went unanswered until I raised it to Corporate level AGAIN.  Then we were told that the window for these rebates was now closed and they couldn't help us, so in lieu of the $920 they committed to they sent us a check for $250.  In addition, the A/C unit, which was promised to be such an improvement fails to cool our house.  I've had one repairman out here and he added some coolant to the system.. Blows cold air but with insufficient force to actually cool the house.   heats the same way, poorly.  Not enough fan speed (and this was an expensive digital motor, 3 speed, add on) to actually move the air.
To say I am disappointed is a gross understatement.  Sears, has failed to provide even a reasonable degree of customer service.  Their regional AC installation manager continues to provide a phone number that does not get to his desk.  They lied about the rebates then dropped the ball, so my loss of nearly $700.  I would not use Sears for anything.  I'll not buy tools there, nor will I even consider them for Appliances as I cannot rely on them for customer service.  If you  choose to use them, please make sure everything you are promised is written out and initialed/signed by the sales rep.

    Peterson Heating & Cooling
Nathan knows HVAC. He is honest and does what he says he will do. He shows up when he promises and installs top quality HVAC equipment. The Daikin and quot;suitcaseand quot; arrived at Peterson's shop with a small cosmetic dent from the shipping company. Nathan sent it back to the manufacturer and insisted a new unit be sent out within a few days. He really takes pride in his work and takes the time to educate the customer. The new unit has greatly reduced the time my central AC is running.

Steve, the service technician was excellent. Friendly, explained everything, just an all around good guy. I was also pleased that Band B was able to a technician out to the house on only 3 hours notice on a Friday afternoon.
