    221 Construction LLC
This company needs a lot of work on communication. I would be concerned about hiring them as their reliability is questionable as well. Requested estimate for basement remodel. Charged $600 for design work. I have the email trail to document the following. It took 5 weeks to get the design (drawing) no estimate. Had to call to ask for #s. Took another week to get those. By this time there were details discussed that were not included in the quote. The estimate was inline with what we expected. Sent an email back to Don stating we were very interested but had some clarifications/questions. Waited 2 business days for an acknowledgement or a response then emailed to ensure they got our email. Office confirmed it was received but Don was working in the field. Waited another 2 weeks.... nothing. Requested money back, Don stated they dont do that. So if you want design work only go ahead. Just dont expect reasonable turn around delivery time or the expectation that they will or have the band width to do the job. Going elsewhere and pretty sure the next contractor will want to do their own design work.

    Spirit Plumbing LLC
Joel and Mike did the rough-in work as agreed at a fair price and within the agreed time frame. As agreed as part of the contract, they will return to install all of the remaining fixtures. I will update the evaluation when the job is complete. So far I am very pleased with their ability to reconfigure plumbing with minimal peripheral damage. I highly recommend Spirit Plumbing for any renovations.

    Above and Beyond Plumbing, LLC
Josh from Above & Beyond is courteous, dependable, trustworthy and efficient. When we had leaks from two floor drains in our basement, he came over the same day and located and fixed the problem. He will call or text back very promptly when you reach out to him.

R Mech Heating Cooling & Plumbing
They came and completely took apart the furnace and took multiple photo's of rust from a previous leak. The furnace was no longer leaking, but when they put it back together the blower motor started making a humming noise. We did not call them back thinking it would resolve on its own. They did offer to come out and give us a free energy review, so two weeks later someone came out and counted how many window we had and the square footage of our house and then they sent us an estimate for $13,000 to replace our current system. We felt that this was a very high estimate. A few weeks later over a very cold weekend, the furnace blower motor quit working and our house was 50 degrees when we woke up. This was on a Sunday morning. We called them and asked for a different service man since the last one left our motor humming and it had not hummed before he took the furnace all apart. . The manager called us back and asked if we were ready to replace our furnace today, and we told them no. He then refused to send anyone out saying our furnace was junk and they could not fix it. He was extremely rude, we had no heat when it was 2 degrees outside and they were refusing to come out unless we replaced the furnace. We called the repairman from the company who installed our furnace and he replaced the blower motor and looked the furnace over and said he did not see any reason that the furnace would need to be replaced at this time. He also said he does not know why they would have taken the furnace all apart for a tune up as every thing is accessible from the front panel. Out furnace has worked fine every since.

Bob Hamilton Plumbing Heating & AC
I contacted Bob Hamilton Plumbing at 7:26am on the morning of August the 9th. I was pleased that they answered the phone. I explained that I had a shut off valve behind my refrigerator that would not turn off completely. I also explained that I had two hoses for my washer that I was unable to remove and would like them to be removed so I could replace them with two new braided hoses. The lady on the phone was quick and courteous. She took my information and then informed that since I was beyond the 35 mile radius from their shop the service call would be an additional $65. The total for them to make the drive would be $110. I agreed and she said I would be contacted throughout the day as to when I may expect service. I received a phone call at 9:51am and 12:19pm letting me know nothing had changed and they would contact me when someone would be dispatched. At 1:54pm I received a call letting me know I was next on the list. At 3:01pm I received a call letting me know that a truck had been dispatched and should arrive within 30 minutes. I called Bob Hamilton Plumbing at 4:05pm when the truck had still not arrived. They arrived at the same time as I was on the phone. The gentlemen were professional, wore covers for their shoes and courteous. I showed them what I wanted to have repaired. They explained they would go back to the truck figure the cost and come back to show me the quote. When they walked back in with the quote as he was explaining the 4 numbers that were scratched out on a sheet of white paper I could not believe what I was hearing. The valve behind the fridge was going to be $868. The valves behind the washing machine were going to be $1188. I was shocked and speechless. I asked so you expect this to be over $2000? He began to explain how this is competitive pricing and that Bob Hamilton hadn't been in service for so many years by overcharging. I not so kindly asked them to leave. He reminded me that I owed him the $113 service fee. I paid the $113 fee and they left. I called Bob Hamilton at 4:29pm to express my concern and anger about this. The lady who answered the phone was again very professional but there wasn't anyone who could handle my complaint at the time. She took my information and let me know someone would be contacting me the following day. It would appear I paid someone to give me a ridiculously high quote and they made $113 for their hour of drive time.

Midland Marble & Granite Flooring America
We updated our kitchen with granite counter tops and compatible back splash. After researching Angie's List and receiving estimates, we used Midland Marble and Granite. Janelle Hudgens assisted us in several ways and then scheduled a time convenient for us. The entire process was completed in 4 days. We couldn't be more pleased with their work and professionalism. They arrived exactly on time, performed the work and consulted us during the process to verify what we wanted, and then cleaned their work area each day when finished. Their price was over $1500 less than the big box store. The finished products were amazing and exactly as promised.

    Grant Renne & Sons Inc
Ross responded quickly to my request for an estimate.  He was punctual and very professional.  I did not engage Grant Renne's services because I decided to improve the exterior drainage before having any more foundation work done.  If I ever need foundation work in the future, I will strongly consider this company.

    ALWAYS PLUMBING
Always Plumbing LLC was contracted by Lowe's to install 2 new 40 gallon water heaters in my home near Kearney. They arrived exactly on time, delivered and installed the water heaters. They were exceptionally professional and meticulous in their work, provided additional parts needed at no extra cost, tested their work, cleaned up the work area, and removed the old water heaters to recycling. I almost felt that Dennis and Michael from Always Plumbing were family members because they were so friendly and also very careful in performing the service needed. The cost above includes the water heaters, water heater kits, and all parts and labor. I can't speak any higher in my praise for their work and professionalism. I will be using them for all future plumbing problems.

    Karl Ross Construction
I have been mulling over expanding my master bedroom for several years.  The house was built by my parents in 1975, is a tudor style 4 bedrooms, but they're all really small. .  I purchased it in 2007 and had already upgraded the living rooms and kitchen.   I got a few estimates after checking Angies List for contractor/remodelers near me.  There aren't too many listed!  Although Karl's bid was not the lowest I knew it was the most realistic.  I've worked with many contractors over the years and the lowest bid is almost always the cheapest, if you know what I mean.  I also chose Karl because of the number of questions he asked me when making the bid.  Communications is crucial.  Plus, several of his reviewers on Angies List said they would/have hired him again.  Many remodeling projects end with my desire never to see the contractor again (and probably his desire never to see me either!)
From bid to end-of-job, Karl showed up as scheduled or let me know if there would even be a slight delay in his arrival, which was rare.
I did have to wait for about 6 weeks, but he actually started the job when he said he would and finished up on schedule.  He brought one other worker, Danny, who was very easy to work with to.  The job took about 3.5 weeks during which they were very professional.  I work from home so if I did need a few moments of quiet they always worked with me. Otherwise they did not intrude on what I was doing eadh day.
He reviewed with me my plans  for the job, made suggestions related to his past experience and had very good insights.    I did use some of his suggested suppliers and was very pleased with the results.  Both bathroom were completely gutted to the studs.  The existing master bedroom entrance,  3x6 closet and 3/4 bath were combined into one larger bathroom.  This allowed the shower to be enlarged significantly, the toilet was moved and the single vanity was replaced with a large double vanity.  All new fixtures, granite tops, porcelain wall and floor tilef and paint.  Some electrical had to be rearranged, of course.  The full hall bathroom was gutted, tub replaced, new single vanity, flooring and wall tile, paint, etc.

He removed the existing wall between master and adjacent bedroom, created a new walk in closet, roughly 6x8, removed popcorn ceiling still in one bedroom.  He removed 2 doors, installed one new and reversed another.  All new paint.  Although he removed the carpet I did go to Lowes for new carpet throughout all of the bedrooms.
Then I asked them to fix some blemishes and paint the hallway and open stairwell to basement (walls & ceiling) and he gave me a very fair bid on this as well.
Karl and I discussed many details as the job progressed and although we didn't always agree (that just doesn't happen)  we were able to work together towards an excellent finished project.  That is called having 'a contractor I can work with.'  It's a really big deal and often difficult to find.
He has great attention to detail, a hard work ethic and personal integrity.  Because of my past experiences I dreaded telling him about a few things that I would like him to do differently.  But I do not except close enough any more so I did talk to him, he handled the fix most graciously and returned AFTER HE HAD BEEN PAID IN FULL to make the fix.
No remodel job is without stress.  But I could not have expected any more from Karl Ross.  In fact, he far exceded my expectations and I love my new master bedroom suite.  It is absolutely gorgeous.  My sisters were recently over to see the changes in the home they also grew up in and were wowed.  It does not look like a remodel.  There's no evidence that the rooms were combined and it flows beautifully.  Worth every penny.
