  • Just like the prior job at my previous house, they did amazing. Cristil came out & we did a walk through of what needed to be done. I added some work after the initial quote & it was easy to get the work added to the job. The crew showed up every day, on time, until it was completed. They did a great job prepping & cleaning also.

  • These girls were professional courteous and personable. They were on time, and completed the workwhen they said they would. They even put up with us changing our mind a few times on what we were going to include. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them to anyone.

  • He did a fantastic job. He was professional, on time, and worked efficiently. He was a very nice young man, and I enjoyed working with him. I really can't say enough nice things about him. He really did a nice job! I may be calling him for some interior work, as well!

  • I have been mulling over expanding my master bedroom for several years.  The house was built by my parents in 1975, is a tudor style 4 bedrooms, but they're all really small. .  I purchased it in 2007 and had already upgraded the living rooms and kitchen.   I got a few estimates after checking Angies List for contractor/remodelers near me.  There aren't too many listed!  Although Karl's bid was not the lowest I knew it was the most realistic.  I've worked with many contractors over the years and the lowest bid is almost always the cheapest, if you know what I mean.  I also chose Karl because of the number of questions he asked me when making the bid.  Communications is crucial.  Plus, several of his reviewers on Angies List said they would/have hired him again.  Many remodeling projects end with my desire never to see the contractor again (and probably his desire never to see me either!)
From bid to end-of-job, Karl showed up as scheduled or let me know if there would even be a slight delay in his arrival, which was rare.
I did have to wait for about 6 weeks, but he actually started the job when he said he would and finished up on schedule.  He brought one other worker, Danny, who was very easy to work with to.  The job took about 3.5 weeks during which they were very professional.  I work from home so if I did need a few moments of quiet they always worked with me. Otherwise they did not intrude on what I was doing eadh day.
He reviewed with me my plans  for the job, made suggestions related to his past experience and had very good insights.    I did use some of his suggested suppliers and was very pleased with the results.  Both bathroom were completely gutted to the studs.  The existing master bedroom entrance,  3x6 closet and 3/4 bath were combined into one larger bathroom.  This allowed the shower to be enlarged significantly, the toilet was moved and the single vanity was replaced with a large double vanity.  All new fixtures, granite tops, porcelain wall and floor tilef and paint.  Some electrical had to be rearranged, of course.  The full hall bathroom was gutted, tub replaced, new single vanity, flooring and wall tile, paint, etc.

He removed the existing wall between master and adjacent bedroom, created a new walk in closet, roughly 6x8, removed popcorn ceiling still in one bedroom.  He removed 2 doors, installed one new and reversed another.  All new paint.  Although he removed the carpet I did go to Lowes for new carpet throughout all of the bedrooms.
Then I asked them to fix some blemishes and paint the hallway and open stairwell to basement (walls & ceiling) and he gave me a very fair bid on this as well.
Karl and I discussed many details as the job progressed and although we didn't always agree (that just doesn't happen)  we were able to work together towards an excellent finished project.  That is called having 'a contractor I can work with.'  It's a really big deal and often difficult to find.
He has great attention to detail, a hard work ethic and personal integrity.  Because of my past experiences I dreaded telling him about a few things that I would like him to do differently.  But I do not except close enough any more so I did talk to him, he handled the fix most graciously and returned AFTER HE HAD BEEN PAID IN FULL to make the fix.
No remodel job is without stress.  But I could not have expected any more from Karl Ross.  In fact, he far exceded my expectations and I love my new master bedroom suite.  It is absolutely gorgeous.  My sisters were recently over to see the changes in the home they also grew up in and were wowed.  It does not look like a remodel.  There's no evidence that the rooms were combined and it flows beautifully.  Worth every penny.

  • Our experience with Les was great.  He started on time, did very professional work, and accommodated our move-in schedule.  He is also very trustworthy.  I would heartily recommend him for any painting job.

  • This job went exactly as we planned and hoped it would. They arrived on the day promised and finished 3 weeks later on the day promised. You might think that your home would be in great turmoil for 3 weeks of almost an entire house interior painting and repair, and to a degree it is, but Chris and Dream Stone made the process very non-stressful. They cleaned up after themselves daily, and stored their materials in the garage where we asked them too. The window bases needed to be sanded but they vacuumed while and after they did this.
They used top quality paint and the whole job came in under estimate. We couldn't be more pleased with their work and the process. We had estimates from two other contractors before we selected Dream Stone. We highly recommend them.

  • Karl is very professional, punctual and dependable.  He arrived promptly to give us a bid, he was within range of other bids we received.  He had previously remodeled a kitchen for people we knew and they were very satisfied.  Karl communicated with us daily once he started the project. He provided us a written contract that outlined all of the work to be done.  He kept to his timeline, and always cleaned up before he was finished.  Karl and his partner did most of the work themselves.  A contractor installed the onyx shower floor, but Karl was there to meet them and oversee them while they did the work. It was nice not to have multiple contractors coming to the house.  We were very satisfied with their work.  We had to call Karl once after the work was complete to caulk an area that needed re-caulking and he quickly returned our call and came back within a day of calling to touch it up.  We feel confident that if we experience any problems he will return our calls and come check it out.  But so far everything is perfect and we are very satisfied!!  Thank you Karl for the great work !!

  • ..Joel and Mike were very professional, timely and hardworking.  My shower area was totally transformed into a beautiful area thanks to Joel and Mike at Spirit Plumbing.  I'm actually having them start on another project for me.

  • We're always very happy when we hav John do work. This last project ran long and he put in a full 11 hour day just to get it done. Most people would have left the project unfinished and come back another day. We were completely impressed!

  • Frank is fantastic! Unlike many of the bigger companies, when you hire NAP Painting, you get Frank...not some guy you haven't seen before. We had decided that it was time for our kitchen to be upgraded with new countertops, backsplash, and paint; but what to do with the cabinets? Our cabinets are beautiful solid oak but, in keeping with what was popular at the time, were stained a golden oak with a laquer top coat which had faded, yellowed and chipped. We had gotten other bids from other painters, but they all wanted to apply the "paint and glaze" technique. We were more interested it keeping the wood look and keep the natural grain exposed. Frank came in and showed us how he could apply a stain over our existing stain (as long as we were going darker) and maintain that look. After talking with him for about an hour, he gave us a bid and took a couple of doors with him to make samples of different colors. Within a week, he brought those doors back and we made our choice.

While he could have done the job earlier, we wanted to delay the project until after the holidays so on Jan 9, 2012 he came back and collected all of our doors and drawers to work on at his home shop. The following week, he came back and spent an entire day taping and masking everything...floors, walls, countertops, appliances, etc. After that, he spent an entire day deep cleaning the woodwork...dusting, vacumming, and chemical wash followed by a light scuff coat sanding. He then sprayed a seal/bonding coat over the woodwork which helps the stain absorb and bond to the old finish. Two coats of stain, another seal coat, and two coats of urethane later and he was finished. Start to finish time was about 3 weeks, but actual time in the house was about 10 days.

Frank is very conscientious about the impact of this type of project on your lifestyle. He uses only low odor materials (we never noticed any residual odor during the project) and walled off the other areas of the house with plastic sheeting to keep dust and mess confined just to the kitchen area. He also uses a large exhaust fan to duct dust out of the house and while there was a fine coat of dust in the rooms adjacent to the kitchen, it was minimal and MUCH better than when we had the floors refinished a couple of years ago. He cleaned up every day before leaving and opened up the "temporary walls" so we still had easy access to the kitchen if we needed. We also added some natural wood window trim to the project and he was able to work that in and still get it done in the original timeframe. Because we live literally at opposite corners of the city from each other, he arrived about 9 am every day and left about 3:30 or 4 pm but his day didn't end when he left, he'd go back to his shop and work on the doors and drawers every night!!

The end result is fantastic!! We love the new look and it was probably a third of the cost of new cabinets. I can't recommend Frank and NAP Painting highly enough!! His bids are competitive (if not cheap) and he is personable, trustworthy, honest and hardworking. If you're looking for a contractor to refinish your cabinets, look no further...you've found him!!!
