This contractor was the only one that I contacted that would actually give me an estimate instead of just asking how much I wanted to spend. Thought I'd gotten lucky. The job was supposed to be "substantially completed" in six weeks, however, it was over 15 weeks later before I had electricity and running water. I had to relinquish my apartment because it had been rented by someone else, or I probably wouldn't have had that. Two days after I moved in, this contractor came by to pick up a grinder he had left in the basement and I never saw him again. Wouldn't return phone calls or answer texts. He left several projects undone and numerous others that were supposed to be re-done. The masonry work that was done on the back of the house looks like an eight year old did it. (no offense intended to any eight year olds out there) This man lived right down the street from me!

Showed up when they said they would and completed all projects satisfactorily. I made a few changes after he had prepared the initial estimate. Subtracted a few projects and added some new ones. All were completed as requested. Would definitely hire again.

    All Chores No More LLC
Called during business hours for gutter cleaning quote, went to V-Mail.  Sent E-Mail with details, including pictures of my home to enable them to quote job.  They responded by E-mail saying would have to check with owner to see if they would be allowed to submit a quote by using information and photo's I provided.  During the couple of days I waited, another company contacted me by telephone from a request I had submitted for information to them.  They were able to estimate the job to my satisfaction using information available on Google Maps of my home.  I was impressed with the proactive approach to my request and hired on the spot.  All chores eventually sent me an E-mail quote of the job which was over twice what I ended up paying the other company for twice the amount of work I had done.  Would recommend All Chores figure out a way to respond to inquiries in a timely fashion.  If you got to go out in the field, stick a cell phone in your pocket for crying out are losing business!  It worked out good for me as I am very pleased with the service I received from the other company and will be having them on a schedule.

    Complete Asphalt Maintenance

Team of three guys came.  Seemed fine at first.  My husband noticed that one older man seemed to be able to spread the grout well, the other two looked less experienced and left unevenness. The team came back a day or two later and sprayed on the sealer.  Missed some areas and owner, Michael, came and painted some sealed on the areas my husband showed him.  On last day when they were painting garage floor area with sealer the lesser workers were seen by me to not clean off dirt, durst and oil.  I gave them a bucket and rags and they did wipe it down while I watched.

One month later the driveway started to crack showing the grout/gray stuff underneath.  I immediately texted a photo and the owner said he would stop by.  Two and a half months later NO SHOW!  Naturally, getting colder with more rain and freezing on the way.  The cracks have increased by several feet (measure in yards now).  The cracks are so wide that the grout/gray stuff is coming out in clumps.  We have only two drivers in this household.  No overuse or abuse of driveway.

At this point, have to assume owner has no intention of fixing.  My husband and or I call  him weekly......

    Your Right Hand Man
I feel ashamed that I was so stupid and was taken to the cleaners.  There are probably a lot of old people like me that get taken and are too embarrassed to tell anyone. There was a leak from bathroom condo above me, leaking on to my bathroom..  The owner of this company and his 2 employees came in and, before I knew it, had gutted the bathroom, claiming there was mold throughout (said they took pictures to show insurance company).  My insurance covered $6,100, deducting $500 for my deductible and another $500 or so for depreciation.  This company charged me $7,850 for labor only (they worked no more than 70 hours in two weeks).  I had to pay the difference for the labor: $2750, cost of materials: almost $1000, and the cost to replace the walls, shower, toilet, vanity, floor, etc.  Total cost to me was about $6,600.  An attorney told me that it should only have cost me my deductible.  I was under pressure as I had to leave the next day to go out of the state so didn't inspect everything as I should have.  The bathroom door and the trim were replaced with a color that didn't evenly closely match.  After the shower had been used a couple times, noticed a big leak on the floor.  They had installed the shower improperly.  I contacted the manufacturer and was told that the bottom of the inside of the shower should not have been caulked.  Had a contractor come out and make these repairs which cost me another few hundred dollars.  This contractor told me that this company is know for taking money from customers and not doing the work, that they have a bad reputation.  I then looked the company up on the Attorney General website and found they had several complaints and under their website one made the comment that this man is a con man and to stay clear.  If you would contact the owner of Your Right Hand Handyman, he would give reasons for all of the above.  He said the cost was so high because of the changes I made - the only thing I did different was to have a shower installed instead of the tub/shower.  Can't prove it, but am sure that the bathroom was entirely molded.
It's been almost a year now and I have just finished paying off the bills I incurred for this - had to work for several months.  Don't let this man fool  you.  I trusted him.  He comes on like a nice honest man but he isn't.  Have learned a lot from this experience.

    Gilmore's Construction
A real train wreck. They made numerous trips out to the job which meant lots of phone calls back and forth with my tenants also involved. They saidit was finished and the fan made unacceptable noise so they had to replace. In the meantime they are calling to collect for an unfinished job. I would never use these guys again. Ever.

He did not give us plans and wouldn't even return our contacts after a couple of months.  He just simply took our money and disconnected his phone.  Not a legitimate business.  We joined a new church where he had become one of the people on the team and sold us on the idea that we were now church family.  He left the church too after scamming us.
This guy will pretend to be your best friend but he will just take your money and run.

    Handyman Solutions
I had a washer/dryer with metal shelving above them. The shelving was a cluttered eyesore and the upper shelves were hard to get to without a step stool. A design to stack the dryer on the washer and install closet cabinets with shelving that matched the kitchen cabinets was planned. Handyman Solutions came to get measurements, insure me the design would work and the cabinets were ordered. Upon delivery of the cabinets the project was complete. I now have a very nice and efficient laundry area with additional space for pantry items.
Handyman Solutions was very effective in helping with the design and finding a way to make my plan work. I am extremely happy with their service and the outcome of my project.
I also had a small project to install a screen door closure. I asked Koty, the technician if he could install the door closure while he was there and he was able to work that in his schedule.

    Michael Schaefer Remodeling, LLC
Not much to say really - Michael showed up on time, did the work with a minimum of muss and fuss, and that was it. When I called him back to ask him to respond to a minor issue with the plumbing repair, he was there right away, and made it right at no charge. I recommend this company.

The project went slower than originally projected but that seemed reasonable once the project got underway. I guess it was more complicated than it originally appeared. Overall, we are very satisfied with their performance, followup, attention to detail and above all, professionalism. They are friendly, courteous, and responsible. You might find someone who knows more but they can't treat you any better as a customer, client, or contractor. Their staff are very respectful in their dealings always.
