    Sabates Eye Centers - Independence
This place is really advanced. The machines they have for eye testing are way ahead of anything I've ever encountered before. Eye doctors are first rate and their staff is very friendly and efficient. I have not had to wait for any of my appointments thus far. They have a large selection of eyewear, too.

    Cantrell, Dr. Joshua C.
I've been going to Envision Eyecare for a few years now along with my daughter. I've seen Dr. Joshua Cantrell and his wife, Dr. Patricia Cantrell, and really like them both so I'm happy no matter who I have an appointment with. Exams are thorough and they are extremely attentive throughout your appointment. I've never been rushed through or been pressured to add services or buy anything at all. I order my contacts and eyeglasses with them and they really do seem to care about their patients. The staff, Lindsey and Adam, have been there for quite some time and are both friendly and helpful. They have flexible hours as well. I highly recommend them.

The experience there has been excellent so far. They are outstanding. The glasses and the contact lenses are same doctor but for glaucoma it is a different doctor. There are many doctors there. They are very attentive; seem to listen, their diagnosis and care I think is very good. They are the ones that detected some optic nerve compression in my eyes and then diagnosed the glaucoma and then went for glaucoma treatment. Then follow through seems to be going real well. The diagnosis and the follow through are real good. I have been going there for about four years. The staff is excellent as they make appointments and follow through. So far I haven’t had any glitches. Everything seems to be accurate. I go six months once for glaucoma check and once a year is a big annual check where they do all kinds of stuff. It is like a full check where they make sure the eye glass prescription is correct and there are no further pressures or whatever.

He is knowledgeable. He explains things in words you can understand. He follows up afterward. He explains things thoroughly. You can tell that you're improving with each visit. He is personable and always seems cheerful.

He is very knowledgeable. He does good diagnoses. He helped my wife with an expensive contact problem. He helped her get things straightened out when another doctor didn't figure it out. He is highly regarded.

    Larcom, Dr. Teresa
This is the second time I used Dr. Larcom. The appointment takes about
an hour and you really get your questions answered. I feel totally
comfortable duriing the appointment and I do not feel rushed. She
listens to your concerns and responds in a positive manner.

They have been very professional with the children and they are cost effective. Their choices are good and they are on time with getting the products for us. They have also repaired the glasses repeatedly in a very satisfactory way.

    Discover Vision Centers - Independence
Was having PRK surgery on my right eye with end result monovision. Left eye for reading and Right eye for distance. Had Lasik 12 years prior in Toronto CA that went perfectly. Was told at that time since my vision was so bad, it would be likely that I would need an enhancement years down the road. When my vision started waning, I decided to have it corrected again. However, at this point in my life, I had to consider my near vision as well. Discover told me they wouldn't do Lasik again because of certain circumstances which I appreciated. The day of my appt there were many many people in the waiting room, and I ended up waiting over 2 hours after my set appt. After I was called back to get prepped for the procedure, I waited another hour. I was there a total of 3 hours which in my opinion was unacceptable because all but 10 minutes of that time, was just sitting and waiting. It appeared to me that they scheduled way too many patients that day. Then to top it off, they over corrected my eye which led to months of headaches and horrible vision. It effected my work performance dramatically. Luckily, over a period of approx. 8-10 months, it eventually corrected itself. I would honestly have to say that if I elect to have any future eye procedures, I will look elsewhere

    Vincent, Dr. Ryan D.
Given the time sensitivity of my situation (I was due to leave town just a few hours from when I first noticed the obstruction in my eye), I was just happy to find someone who could see me on such short notice. The only negative was that Dr. Vincent was practicing at an office about 45 minutes from my house-- but that was the closest of this practice's locations that had someone available.
The problem turned out to be very similar to what I'd dealt with earlier in the year, and he was able to diagnose it quite quickly. And he was able to get a prescription called into a pharmacy that I picked up on the way out of town, which was a huge help. Nothing but a high recommendation for Dr. Vincent and this location.

    Discover Vision Centers - Independence
They were excellent. My doctor was Dr. Melissa Cable. I was very confident about them from the beginning. They will counsel you. If you want to look, you can see the pictures of what they would do. They will ask you if you want to see the pictures. They are very conscientious that they do not want to scare the patients, but they want them to be informed. Most of Dr. Cable's patients desired to have a block put on the eye. You can either choose a shot in the eye in order to immobilize the eye or you can have them put drops in your eye. I asked for the drops. In order to do it, they got in the doctor to make sure that I was lying still. She came in and looked down at me. She gave me a clear picture about what to expect. I told her that I understood what she had said. She listened to me and made sure that I understood the procedure. She did a good job. They also helped me with a referral when I had an eye problem. They have a nice office. It is not too fancy. Most of my appointments were after lunch, so I had to wait a while. However, I would take that into stride. I did not have any problem with the surgery. They inquired after my wellbeing the night after the surgery and the day after it, which was very impressive. I would use them again if required.
