Tire Buying And Repair reviews in Independence

    Gettel Chevrolet Buick GMC
They are very good. The only thing I don't care about is the 3% fee they charge for using a credit card. Other than that, we are continuing to use them and are happy with their service. The people we deal with there are great. .

    NTB-National Tire & Battery
They put them on, balanced them. They helped me find the right tires. They gave me some options to choose. I waited for it, it wasn't that long. The waiting room had a tv, snacks, coffee. Bathrooms were clean.

    Sallas Auto Repair Inc

I selected Sallas to perform service and diagnostic work on my now-out-of-warranty Audi because I did not want to continue to pay main dealer prices for an older vehicle. I chose them based on Angie's List reviews and am not disappointed.

They were very professional in scheduling my service, reviewing what I wanted done and making changes to accommodate my preferences for specific fluids. They gave me a ride to and from my office.

During the afternoon, the service advisor Zach called to let me know that an minor accident had occurred when one of the mechanics was moving my car onto a ramp and one of my tires had been damaged. While that was disappointing in itself accidents will happen and it is how a company responds to these situations that sets them apart, positively or negatively, from their competition. When Zach called to tell me (something that some shops may not even have bothered to do) they had already purchased and a driver was on his way pick up a new replacement tire. Importantly they had purchased the exact same OEM tire I had on my car, even though this was significantly more expensive than many technically equivalent options. When I expressed concern about having one new tire and one half worn tire on the same axle, they quickly agreed to contribute 75% of the cost of a second tire. I accepted. Although I had not intended or budgeted to replace any tires on my car at this time, the end result of their honesty and their willingness to 'do the right thing' was that for 25% of the cost of one tire, I now have two brand new high quality tires on my car (and it rides beautifully for it). The service itself was also performed well and the car drives (as well as rides) better for that. Again, accidents are unfortunate but they do happen and whereas many less honest service shops may have tried to quietly put a cheap replacement on and say nothing, Sallas did not and I respect them for that.

Happy to have found a trustworthy service facility to maintain my car. Thank you.

    FIRESTONE STORES
It wasn't very much. It was pretty cheap. They rotate the tires every time she takes it in so that is pretty good. They are pretty good when it comes to responsiveness. They always get her in and out no matter what time she goes. They are always done when they say they are done. She has been using them for a couple of years now.

    B&H TIRE & MUFFLER CO
This is from Nov 2012, but I just became an Angie's list member, so I'm posting it today.  In Oct '12 I'd bought a used Saturn Vue.  It definitely need 3 new tires, possibly a fourth.  I took the car to B&H, Daly said 2 definitely, 1 still had some good miles left on it, the fourth was almost new - he said don't replace it.  He told me that he had Firestone tires in stock that would match the Firestone tire that was still good, but they were more expensive than the tires he would recommend for the Vue.  He told me that the Vue was known for loud tire on pavement sounds and he'd recommend a Michellan tire for it's quietness.  I went with the Michellan tires at the lower price and lower noise level.  Daly got the tires on and I was on my way.  I can tell he was correct about the noise.  The Firestone tire is on the driver's rear, more noise from that tire than the others.  But I'm frugle, so I'll put up with the noise until it's time to replace that tire.   I'm sure Daly would have made more money on the Firestones, but he though more about my comfort than he did his wallet.  Thanks!

    Expert Tire
Been dealing with this location for two years. Excellent service and reasonable prices. Offer free rotation when you buy their tires. Will tell you when they are very busy so you don't spend forever waiting for your car. Honest to a fault about service work needed or not needed. Trust them absolutely.

Firestone Complete Auto Care - Independence
Firestone Complete Auto Care - Independence back up their brakes and if you have any issues after they do their brake work, you can bring it back and they rectify it for free. The cost of the tires depend on the type of vehicle that you have. They are not perfect but they are not as bad as other people that I have used.

    AUTO STOP SHOPPE
Things went great! These are my Go-To Guys whenever I have car issues. I have recommended friends, who also came to rely on them. One of my friends, an academic, would rather walk 2 miles than drive, and only thinks about or uses his car out of extreme necessity. He thought he had a serious problem once and was prepared for a major expense, but he took it to Auto Stop Shoppe, who found that it was actually very minor, and saved him hundreds over what a less scrupulous place might have charged.

    Here are some facts:

This is a black-owned business that has been in business in the same location for decades. You don't stay in business by cheating people.

Tom, the owner, is cheerful, professional, and does his best to solve your transportation problems at the least cost to you, even if that means just selling you a used tire to get you buy until you can afford a full set. His support staff is equally cheerful and congenial.

They give you their diagnosis and provide an accurate picture of the seriousness of the problem and the best ways to address it, whether that means you can get by for time with a smaller repair or need to bite the bullet on a bigger one. It's always your call, but they give you an honest evaluation of your options, especially if you drive an older car that might not warrant a major repair expenditure. (My youngest car is 9 yrs. old!)

Again, these are my Go-To Guys for car repairs. As with anything like this, I prefer to call first to check on their work load, and leave my vehicles with them for repair. This is just common sense. They aren't slow, but we can always spend our time better than sitting around in a waiting room.

    Galen Boyer Motors Inc
They seem to be very good. Their price is a little higher but I didn't mind paying it because I thought I could trust what they were doing. I wouldn't use them anymore because I have a different car now.

    MIDAS
They were excellent. I felt very comfortable and I felt that they were very trustworthy. That is the only place I have ever brought my vehicle. My experience was excellent. They were very polite. The shop was clean. The manager was very honest and upfront with me. He could have totally ripped me off because I don't know anything about cars. I was in there once before and I thought there was something terribly wrong with my car. They couldn't find anything and they didn't charge me. They could have totally ripped me off because I am so ignorant about cars. It's the same manager. They are not replacing employees all the time. There is not a big turnover. I just feel like they are very honest.
