    I had been using the services of another eye doctor for 12 years but the last 3-4 years have been having issues with dry eyes and blurred vision. The other doctor had me try a few things but never had me follow up to see if the issue was resolving plus she would take a reading of my eyes but since they were dry and blurred my eyeglass prescription was off the last few years.
    I found Dr. Jalali through recommendations on Angie's list and made an appointment this spring (2014). I was able to get scheduled when I wanted to and his website has new patient paperwork that can be downloaded and filled out beforehand which meant I could fill it out at my leisure and not take extra time the day of the appointment.
    Dr. Jalali's office was easy to find, nicely decorated and comfortable, and parking was easily available. The front desk staff was friendly and I did not have to wait long until one of his staff came and got me. She came and got me and did some preliminary testing of where my vision was at with an electronic machine and what prescription my old glasses were.
    After she set me up in an exam room and did another preliminary test with a vision chart, I waited for less than 10 minutes for Dr. Jalali.
    Dr. Jalali is very pleasant and he had already familiarized himself with the written information I had provided regarding the issues I was having. He had me fill out a couple very short questionnaire's relating to my dry eyes and how it affected my daily activities including rating what was most troublesome and he asked a few different questions. He then summarized what he heard me describe as the issue and discussed how we could approach it.
    Since it was a problem that I had been dealing with for a number of years, he thought it best if we tried several things at once to tackle the issue (instead of trying one approach, seeing if it helped, then try adding a second, to see if it helped, etc-- which is what my previous doctor had been doing without much success). He gave me a list of dietary foods and habits that I could do to combat dry eyes. He also gave me samples of over the counter eyedrops and prescription medication to try and gave me a daily schedule of when I should use each and reviewed possible side effects/risks. He also gave me a coupon for one of the prescription medication, discussed the cost of it and gave me a tip on how I could save money by smartly using it. I have been able to get double the amount of use out of that prescription than what the manufacturer intended (stretching a 2 month prescription to 4 months).
    He tested my vision but told me he thought it best to hold off on figuring out a prescription because the dry eyes was affecting the accuracy of the results. He had me schedule to come back to see him in one month.
    When I was checking out, his front desk staff asked for my health insurance card because they believed they would be able to submit this under my medical insurance since it was a health-related issue and not just a regular exam which saved me money. I was easily able to schedule an agreeable time to see him in one month.
    One of the prescriptions he put me on, required his office calling my insurance company to get it pre-approved which they took care of very promptly. (My previous doctor had tried to put me on the same prescription but did not follow through with the call to my insurance company for several weeks even after I and the pharmacy made a number of calls to her office.)
    Dr. Jalali's recommendations were easy to follow and I saw him back in one month. My dry eyes were much better although not fully healed enough where he could test my vision. He recommended backing down on OTC allergy medication to every other day because the side effects could be contributing to my issue and I was scheduled to follow up with Dr. Jalali in another month. At this visit, prior to being put into an exam room, I looked at the inventory of frames he had at his office and his staff offered to write down a couple frames so I would remember which ones I tried and liked. The staff was not at all pushy regarding selling anything and they had information available on financing at 0% for 6 months with a company that does financing especially for the healthcare industry.
    When I went back for my 3rd visit, my dry eyes were so much better than they had been in the previous 4 years. Dr. Jalali had me answer a short questionnaire again as to how troublesome my symptoms were now and then compared them to the answers I had given 2 months prior. He also had me wean off on of the prescription medications to be as needed and described an occasion that I might go back to it and that it should be more like 1-2 time a month usage, if that. He then tested my vision. My vision was good enough that he said I had the option of getting by without glasses. Because of my astigmatism makes reading road signs a little harder and I do a lot of computer work which can wear out my eyes, I opted to get glasses.
    I was so impressed with Dr. Jalali's services that instead of buying my glasses online (as I had done the past 3 years to save money because my prescription was ever changing due to my dry eyes), I decided it would be worth it to get the excellent quality and service of buying from him. I do not have vision insurance so I have to pay the full price but I met with Kent, Dr. Jalali's optician, who had the list of frames I had looked at prior and based on those, directed me to some frames that were newer from when I had looked before. He also suggested a sunglass option that was stylish but saved me a ton of money from what I was considering. Kent was honest, knowledgeable and pleasant. He also told me about their warranty (which if I remember correctly is 1 free replacement-- don't quote me on that though!). The glasses took a week to come in and came with a hard case, lint free wipe and spray.
    I have been telling my friends and co-workers about Dr. Jalali's wonderful patient care and Advanced Vision's great service which goes above and beyond any I have experienced in the 30+ years of seeing optometrists on a yearly basis.

    I showed up about 10 min prior to my appointment and filled out the new patient paperwork. The hygienist took me back about 1-2 min before my actual appointment time. The cleaning and exam went well.

    He's done 2 hip replacements on my mother, he did a knee replacement on my husband, he reconstructed an elbow. He fixed my granddaughter's thumb when it got slammed in the door.
    He is so interesting. When you go in to see this man, he doesn't talk about anything except how many cattle he bought this week or whatever. The whole time, he's got whatever he is looking at, like with my husband he was looking at his knee. While he's talking to you about buying cattle he is picking you leg up and putting it in his lap and twisting it around and messing with it and the whole time he is talking about buying cattle or the last time he went fishing or whatever so that he is distracting you and able to control your reactions to whatever he is doing. I just call him the knee whisperer. He is about 62 I think and I will be so sorry when he retires. He has a nurse that follows him around. I'm not sure when he ever sleeps but she's with him all the time. He's available 24 hours a day. You can call Becky at any moment that you need him and she will get him on the phone no matter if he was in Cancun he will call you back. My husband is a big man and he had fallen on ice and broken his knee cap on an arthritic knee already and so he had to lay down and let his knee cap heal. I didn't know that you couldn't have a knee replacement unless your knee cap was intact. So, they had to let his knee cap heal and he knows that my husband is a big, strong, scrapping welder. He picked out an over sized knee so that it wouldn't wear out because he knows that my husband is going to walk and lift and do any of these things. He doesn't use anything at all that hasn't been tried for 20 years. He knows that it works and he knows that your body won't reject it. He isn't going to put a new knee in that might be recalled in 5 years. He has 20 years experience and he knows they work. When my husband had the knee replacement, he was in the hospital and he had the oxygen monitor on him and it went off, and my husband lost consciousness. This nurse jumped up and started pumping his chest and she said, "You are Dr. Turnbaugh's patient, you aren't dying on my shift". He is as cordial as he can possibly be to the patient, but he is intolerant, if you don't follow his instructions as a nurse, you might as well get ready to have your head chewed off. I love it. He means it.
    When he did my mom's hip replacement, he gave her a drug that was invented during the Civil War. He is the only doctor that uses it but he knows that my mother has real problems with pain medication and constipation. This is a drug that doesn't do that. He will come out and tell the nurses, what I use as a pain medication is absolutely none of your business. It is written in the chart, that's what it is. He said, these are my patients, if they die it is my fault. They are not going to die because you decided you didn't like what I decided to do. On nurses he is really demanding and he considers himself in charge, but with patients he is about the most, you don't even have to be present to have him know what is wrong with your leg. He runs an office where he is going from room to room. Somebody is getting X-Rayed while he is telling someone else that he bought 10 cows. He is just so charming and he is just a wonderful surgeon.
    When my granddaughter got her thumb smashed in the door, her mom didn't have any insurance and Dr. Turnbaugh paid for the operating room himself and charged her $100 to set her thumb.
    He and his nurse scrub the operating rooms themselves. He is a good man. I admire him.

    I was pretty impressed with what he was able to do. He is pretty serious. He is a consulate professional. He is the go-to guy for every referral out of this town. He's considered the go-to guy. My husband can feel. It was a pretty much cut and dry, in and out, no messing around, here's what I do, see ya experience. The care was A+. He is not that easy to get into, but if you are in need he will put you to the front of the line. He goes by priority of case rather than who made the appointment first. He takes people based on need. My husband showed up on time, he was attended to on time and came home in a short amount of time. The communication is excellent. My husband gave them permission to talk to me and they called me with the results and it was within hours of the appointment.

    Dr. Campbell takes the time to talk through everything, ask questions and actually listens to what you say and responds to your question in full. She does not give you the impression that she is in a hurry to get on to another patient and that is hard to find anymore in dealing with physicians. I would highly recommend her.

    There are 3 chiropractors with the office.  All have their specialties and I have used them all.  I have my favorite.  Their sports massage therapist is awesome!!  It takes a while to get through the scar tissue I have in multiple places and he does a fantastic job at it and lets me know what else I can do to help manage it.  Would highly recommend that combination.

    After six weeks, many trips to her office and about 15 combinations of contact lenses, I gave up.  I made an appt with an optometrist with the University Eye Care and got the correct contacts the first visit. 
    I think Dr. Batek may be good with eye glass prescriptions, but she was of no help with my contact lenses.
