    The Handy Hubby Inc
First of all, the owner of this company is highly unprofessional and preys on women. Second of all, I spent a lot of money and did not get the quality I paid for. Three years later, the poor quality and mishandling of the projects is still causing me issues. I had a persistent leak under the sink cabinet that I hired a professional plumber to come in and fix, who told me it was plumbed wrong. I was told by the owner of Handy Hubby that it must be what I stored in the cabinet. He did not give me an itemized bid and then slapped white paint on the preprimed doors - the paint on there is so thin, it looks dirty. The stair treads were made from pine, and the stain and finish is rubbing off. He did not caulk between the backsplash and the granite counter. The ceramic tile is popping up in the guest bath after he charged me to lay a whole new subfloor. Tools and supplies and my own possessions were missing when they did the job. They used my garage as workshop and never cleaned the sawdust all over everything (never mind that I could not park my car in my own garage). They caused me issue with my HOA because they were dumping paint water down the drains. He asked for money before the job was ever completed. Complained to me that I could ask my father for money because he assumed he was rich. Completely unethical and unprofessional, and I am still cleaning up after the poor job he rushed his workers through. I know he works for a private company now, so he has no interest in the business he ran into the ground toward the last few years. I could have chosen to take him to court, but he is so smarmy that I didn't want any more contact with him.

    Jon's Affordable Home Repair
He could NOT do basement casement window repair or rout iron railing repair. Not happy with walkout garage door repair. Called him back to make adjustment. Garage floor repair is okay so far. Deck gate repair satisfactory. Tried to nail again any protruding loose nails. NO paper estimate or invoice provided. Finally asked for invoice for completed work. He emailed it.

    Pella Window & Door Co
For the most part, ok. The first installer team did a real good job but the sidelites for the entry door were not what was ordered. This problem was brought to the attention of the representative that came to do the final measurements and to confirm the order. He was to notify Pella about the issue. I talked to the sales person and she assured me the order would be corrected. It was not, there was a 6 week delay on getting the correct sidelites. At that time the work was completed. When asked about why the original storm door was not re-installed I was told Pella would not install a used storm door on a new product, They did not return the removed storm door. Now I have to pay for a new storm door and either install it myself or pay someone else to install it. The reason for some of the ratings below is the installers were good but the support staff was lacking.

    Beaty Home Improvements
Provider called promptly and agreed to meet me out there quickly, since I need urgent repair. Good start. I assumed they were coming to work, but they just came to look.  We had taken off work to meet them at the house, and had to set up another time, the next day to also take off from work.  They seemed frustrated that we would expect them to work right away, but if they had said on the phone "we're just coming to evaluate", I think we both would have been on the same page.  The person they said they were sending was not the one who came (they gave us one name, but another individual showed up.) The one who came seemed nice, but was clearly not experienced.  So, it took longer, and we eventually had to have someone else come out to adjust the repair (a different company).  Did they do two hours of work? yes, but I'm not sure we would go back to this company.

    SuperDave The Handyman
I can't say enough nice things about SuperDave. He returned my call immediately, looked over my projects, and returned an estimate within 24 hours. He scheduled my work within a week, and finished in two days. Everything was done beautifully. Dave, Charlie, and Chris are charming and hard-working. They arrive on time and get right to work. Even though they found some repairs to be more complicated than originally thought, Dave stuck to his original estimate, and did not skimp on the parts or labor. SuperDave and his team may not be the cheapest, but they are the best. Highly recommended.

My grandfather was a carpenter by trade. In his later years, he would tell us when you hire a contractor, hire the busy one.  There?s a real good reason they?re busy.

I was so impressed with the work that SuperDave and Charlie did on my carport that I had them come back for a second job.  I needed my front door and dummy door replaced.  They gave some design suggestions that we hadn?t even thought of. The result was mind blowing. They took a difficult job and made it look like that?s how it was supposed to be all along. I have more projects in mind for this team, and I?m having them back again and again.

Throughout the process they continued to incorporate new ideas and the quote stayed the same.  The quality of their craftsmanship is second to none ? they are real pros.  They took care of us and our property like we were their own.  They are great contractors, and great people.  If you want your expectations met, find any other contractor.  If you want them exceeded, hire
    SuperDave.  They?re worth it .

    Wilke Window & Door Inc
They charge just to come out for an estimate. That comes off your final bill but you don't even know your estimate without paying them. So if you don't go with them you are out the money. I think that's a bad way to do business.

    The Wright Door
It went really well. They sent one tech, and he was on time. It took him maybe a half hour to do. He worked on a double-width door. He replaced old metal rollers with nylon rollers, as well as checked the door opener for operation. He was very good.

I couldn't be more pleased with the work SuperDave and Charlie did. Dave came and looked at the jobs I had and explained what he could do and what he was not comfortable doing. I never felt he was trying to get me to commit to more than I needed. He immediately gave me an estimate, which he stuck to, even though he performed additional tasks (cleaned drains in the kitchen sink, bathtub, and shower) and added accessories (switchplates, lightbulbs, toilet seat). Dave and Charlie were always on time and worked quickly, cleaning up before leaving at the end of the day. The results? The bath and shower look new and the bathrooms are cleaner than they have ever been!  The kitchen plumbing was corrected to stop leaks and the dishwasher was secured under the counter. On top of all this, Dave and Charlie were a joy to work with. They were both friendly, were good to my crazy mutt (Dave even walked him a couple of times), and shared Dave's delicious, home-grown tomatoes. I will definitely call them again -- after all, those pristine bathrooms are making the rest of the house look shabby!

Renewal by Andersen of St Louis MO
I ended up not buying because they were too expensive. We love them and all of our windows are Andersen wood windows. We are going to go the off brand route because it doesn't need to be the same quality as the rest of the house. They are absolutely great and their work is impeccable. If we were staying here in the long term, we would probably use them but eventually we will be selling our house. The quote was between $3,500-$4,000. It was a very good system. They also have an off brand that they sell in a big box store so that is probably what we are going to do. They are wonderful and couldn't be nicer. They don't hound you. They are a wonderful company. We probably couldn't get that particular door any lower.
