it was horrible. she painted her design on and said beautiful yes? as she walked away. my gel manicure was nothing more than gel with a french manicure paint job. she didn't even follow my nail bed. i wanted my brows waxed. she barely waxed anything as when i got home into good light, there was no difference in them what so ever. she did provide a mirror at the salon but it was dark in the little room. when i commented on the fact it was too dark she just smiled and laughed. she asked me if i wanted her to trim them i responded with yes if they need it that's part of it, she cut one spot so close to the skin all there is are little stubs in about an inch square spot on my left eyebrow.  and didn't trim anything that needed to be trimmed. i had to do it when i got home. so I paid $80.00 for a horrible pedicure, bad finger nail paint job, and no wax eye brow waxing.

I have been a member of The Tan Company since it first opened in the mid 90s, back when it was called St. Louis Tan Company.  I have been relatively happy with them, despite the rising cost of tanning and the monthly service fee that is in addition to actually paying for the tan packages.  I decided to cancel my monthly membership and just go with paying the guest rate for my remaining tans, because I don't tan that often.  When I cancelled my account on 8/19/2013, I paid my monthly service fee (the ACH didn't go through because the credit card account it was linked to was cancelled by my bank due to a security breach.  The Schnuck's grocery chain, where I shop, had a major security breach of customer credit/debit card account information.)  The Tan Company gentleman that was assisting me with my account cancellation stated that I could continue to tan at the MEMBER RATE until the remainder of my membership ran out.  After that time expired (a couple of weeks), then I could continue to use what was left of MY MONEY in tans at the guest rate.  This was fine with me.  He told me that I had approximately 20 tans remaining at the guest rate upon account closure.  I used one tan on 8/19/2013.  I went to tan again on 9/23/2013 and was told that I had NO TANS available.  At this time I was told that when I closed my account, I had to use all 20 of those tans in one month or they were lost.  WHAT?!!   If this had been told to me when I came in to close my account, I would have waited to close my account until I had fewer tans remaining.  Who tans 20 times in one month?!!!!
The big issue here is, I PAID FOR THOSE TANS!!  That is close to $200 in tans.   I was more than willing to use them at the higher guest rate as I stated earlier.  I had planned on using The Tan Company even after I used up my "tan bank".  I wanted to keep coming and pay per tan, as needed.
I have SERIOUS issues with my money that was essentially stolen by The Tan Company!  I paid for those tans,  I should be able to use them.  POOR business ethics!!!!!  Need I remind you, I was a customer of The Tan Company for almost 20 years.  Just horrible.  So disappointed.

I like their cleanliness and price. It is round the corner from my house. They take appointments and walk in. It is a full service nail place. They have two TVs there; so you dont get bored. This place can get very crowded and so you have to wait sometimes.

She is very good.  It is convenient.  I like the way she does my hair.  I am usually in and out.  She also has a line of hair care products that she had manufactured.  She does have a retail line of her own products not somebody else?s.  She is very experienced in hair care.  I don?t think she does walk in.

Connie is very reasonably priced and nice. I like the shop and it is very close to me. She never cancels and she is always there. She might be five minutes off of an appointment time. Ten minutes is the most that I have ever waited. I think that they are all A?s for their service.

** I called Monday for an appointment, they booked me for 2:15 PM Tuesday with Beth. I arrived at 2 PM, was greeted promptly, completed a single page 'new client' form, and Beth was paged. ** The lobby was nice but hand scribbled signs for employees to sign in and others were off-putting. ** There is a massage chair in the lobby and a sign taped to the wall says you can get a free massage if you ask for one. Most people will not ask. The staff should offer a free 5-minute massage 'while you wait', build the time into the appointment. If the client doesn't want a chair massage offer a hand massage. ** Within minutes Beth came to the front, shook my hand, and took me to her chair. We talked briefly about what I was there for, then she took me to wash my hair. ** The hair washing area is behind a wall and was cramped and neglected. The chair was comfortable enough but looking up the ceiling tiles were chipped and dirty. New ceiling tiles would improve the area. The walls were orange and brown with harsh lines, the look was inconsistent and it was not a relaxing environment. There were two hair posters on the wall, which were fine enough but this is an ideal area to show some of the shampoo that the stylists use so they can recommend what they used to the client while they are there, offer to take it back to the station. If they aren't sure, send them home with samples and a discount on full size on their next visit. ** Once I got back to the chair Beth combed out my hair, which took quite some time as it's over 36" long. She then consulted with another hairstylist about how to cut my hair because of its length. She then dried my hair, which took nearly an hour. During that time I noticed a stylist was sitting around reading a magazine; this would best be done out of the client's view. ** Beth asked me to stand for the cut, which I was fine with. She cut it well and took off only what was necessary as requested (about 6"). ** After the cut Beth took me to the front of the salon to pay, a man checked me out at the register. I provided him with my new client coupon (print it at their site) and was charged $35. Because I knew I couldn't add a tip I brought cash and tipped Beth 40% because of the extra work she had to do. While I was paying, a man brought up sample products and put them in a basket and said, "these are free" to the man who was at the register. There is nothing to indicate these products are free and no one mentions it. ** Beth came up and gave me two of her cards to refer her to others as she's new and I tipped her. ** It surprised me that the people behind the counter didn't ask if I wanted to book another appointment and didn't offer me some of the free products to encourage me to purchase them on a future business. ** The experience was okay but could be improved ten-fold with the right assistance and input. It would likely increase business as well.

Every time I go, I receive amazing service. The pedicure usually lasts around an hour and I always walk away refreshed and with beautiful feet. They only charge $22 for this service, but I always pay $30, because they do such a wonderful job. They pay attention to everything they do and are meticulous about their service and application. They are also able to get me in within 15 minutes, anytime I go, no appointment is necessary. The best time to go is around mid afternoon, during the week.

I arrived and was asked to wait for 20 minutes before getting my wax, the waxing went well and the woman who did the work was amazing. I would definitely return for a wax. Following that I had a pedicure and I was very disappointed. For $35 I expected much more than just polish (no callus removal, no massage, no buffing, no nail trimming or clipping - just polish). They didn't even put a top coat on. After that I had the manicure, which was better than the pedicure, but I don't think they actually get trained in this because the polish was uneven, the edges were splotchy, I wasn't happy with it either. Finally I had my hair cut. They were able to accomplish that without too many issues, I just wanted a straight cut across with 12-13" removed and sent to Locks of Love. They did that for me, didn't style my hair or anything other than blow drying it afterward. Over all I was not happy with my experience and I would not recommend them for anything other than waxing.

This is the second time I went there. I used Sandra who was recommended by the owner. I asked her exactly what the price would be so I had enough money. She wouldn't tell me, but said she was charging me less. I had picked up 1 of their products but I didn't have enough money with me. (They had charged me $24 dollars more than the last time). I was embarrassed. I had to put the product back. I called 2 days later to speak to Sandra. She refused to talk to me. She had Jackie (mgr) call me who said, "We could have charged you more". Jackie was rude to me, said she would call me back, but never did. Both individuals behavior was unprofessional for a business. They would not even discuss or try to resolve the issue.

The experience as a whole was pretty good. Sometimes they make you wait even if there is only 1 or 2 customers in there. They stay in the back area talking. They asked me to come back in 20 minutes, and then I still waited when I got there. There was only 1 customer in there.
