ANeighborhood Painting and Restoration, Inc.Ryan advises that he maintains two crews of actual employees (not subs) - one to do the prep work and another to do the actual painting. Both crews worked hard and the end result is entirely satisfactory. I obtained three quotes for this work and Neighborhood was the highest (by a considerable amount, in one case) but I chose Neighborhood based on Ryan's assurance that the work would be done right. ANeighborhood Painting and Restoration, Inc.5 star rating for an outstanding local company. Ryan, the owner, personally came by to estimate outdoor repairs of wood rot, damage and painting. During the estimate, he identified problems that other firms missed. Neighborhood's pricing was in the range of other bids but included more detailed work and custom building of replacement corbels which no other firm would do. The project lead for repairs and construction was thorough, communicated very well and was a true professional. The repair team included talented craftsmen who were responsive and a pleasure to work with. After a week of curing, the paint team came by and painted the entire house in 4 days. They were equally professional and competent and took real pride in their work. They too were responsive and very helpful. I enthusiastically recommend Neighborhood for house painting and repairs.- David S.

AAll Weather DecksWe hired All Weather Decks ("AWD") to construct a complete makeover from an old wood deck. We worked with Brett to create a seasonal room designed with multiple large windows to overlook the lake area, along with an open composite (Deckorators-Voyage) deck with a staircase that led down to the open patio. The footing and deck posts were covered with a stone veneer. The construction went well. We experienced a few issues such as clean-up and a damaged door, but they were timely addressed. We cannot say enough about Armando and the beautiful work of his finish crew. He was very professional, diligent and eager to please. He always cleaned up his work area each day. He is a huge asset to the company. We have received multiple compliments. Thank you so much AWD.- Barbara L.

AKC Deck ProThe project went great. JD and his guys are real craftsmen, came on time, very communicative about what was going on, etc. They started a week before Christmas, demo'd and framed in the deck on day 2 and finished up in a month, despite the holidays and the winter weather. This was a cedar porch about 3 ft off the ground with composite flooring and a gabled roof. He even gave me a trap door under the porch that we didn't ask for, all at a very good price. The end of project punch list was literally one item, taken care of no questions asked. Very good experience.- Walter M.

ASuperior Contractors of KCFantastic. The job was time-sensitive because extremely cold temperatures were threatening to freeze the basement pipes again. Chris got materials and immediately sent me a photo of the receipt from Home Depot. Then he did a extremely neat and professional job of fabricating and installing a custom insulated panel over the basement door. No more drafts! No more freezing pipes! Excellent communication. CThe company did not provide a quote. I made it clear to the salesperson up front I was looking for competitive bids (to try to save time on the bidding process) on Provia exterior doors and was more or less told by the salesperson that they don't sell to price-conscious clientele and they don't repair doors because they don't want the headaches. By the reviews, I'm sure they are a great company, but with such an attitude and not even willing to bid the work (been a couple of weeks now), that is not likely a company I would want to work with anyway as it appears to me they don't want customers that might be demanding or actually have expectations on price or quality, and high price does not always mean good quality in my experience with the trades. The salesperson was nice and spent a fair amount of time explaining why they don't need my business. I've never been in that kind of position, but more power to them and I wish them well. I'd give an F for the smug and unhelpful company attitude who doesn't need my business and an A for at least coming and explaining why they don't need my business which is why I'm giving them at least a C for half-hearted effort.

AWe have had quite a bit of things done in our yards over the years and I must say this company is far ahead of some we have used. The quality is exceptional but something you may not consider is communication. That is every bit as important as the work. We definitely recommend All Weather Decks out of Gardner, KS. By the way we had three different crews - one for concrete work, one for paver/stone work and one for the pergola. All equally as good. The project supervisor was excellent as well.

AIf you choose Mountain Construction for your remodel of any size on your home you will not be disappointed by the slightest! Everything from Glenn's crew showing up on time daily to cleaning up end of work day was consistent. From the electricians, painters, plumbers, tile setter, to counter top company was nothing short of professional. Glenn and Rob (carpenter) checked in at least twice a day would inform you what was happening daily and what your job was weekly to go pick out (the exciting part for any home owner) Seeing changes daily was always happening and so fun! I'm a stay at home mom (my husband works quite a bit being away from the home) and I always felt so comfortable with everyone in and out of my house, there was never any awkwardness.
