Bathtub Refinishing reviews in Harrisonville

A sales rep showed up to give me a quote on 4/16/2012. She had almost too much information about the company though it is an interesting story. There were a number of options to choose from (but not so many as to be overwhelming). She didn't mention much about pricing and instead encouraged us to select all our preferred options It was a little annoying that no prices for things were listed but that's pretty common in my experience. It's also why I graded the price at B. Our first tough choice was between an overlay or to remove our old tub and replace it altogether. My wife and I wanted the old tub removed but we were on a very limited budget. I think the rep sensed our concern over price and informed us that the difference in cost would be about $500 to have the old tub removed (which was the option we ended up choosing--and now recommend heartily).
While not offering specific dollar amounts we were always told which items cost more and less and in the end were able to choose high end fixtures, a few more creative touches, and also some of the less unique components. Purchasing the day of the quote saved us an additional $500 off the quoted price. We had already contacted two other contractors who had bid just over $8,000 for the same work.
We chose Bath Fitters due to a lower bid and the promise to cover any hidden floor/wall/plumbing damage at no cost. The other contractors were upfront that there could be water damage (Our house is 60 years old--and so was the tub!) in the walls and sub floor and that additional costs would be our responsibility. In the end, things were pretty ship-shape but there was peace of mind in the guaranteed pricing.
I was told our materials would be ordered on Friday, in the following Thursday, and I would be called on 4/27 to schedule installation. This happened exactly as we were told and the installation was scheduled for 4/30.
The installer was to arrive between 8:30 and 9:00. He arrived at 8:40 along with a trainee. The two of them had the old tub removed in about 40 minutes and set about shoring up the plumbing for the new tub and shower. A professional plumber showed up just before lunch to inspect their work and handle a few more complicated things. The water was back on by 12:30 and they were completely finished by 2:30pm. They cleaned up (leaving no mess despite the rainy weather) and were on the road by 2:45. The bathroom looked great and we haven't had a single issue other than that showers take longer due to the very high end shower head and general love my wife and I have for the appearance of our new shower/tub.
I was advised to keep the bathroom door shut for 24 hours while the adhesives an caulk dried. The 24 hour period is standard but our small bathroom and hairy pets were the reason we were advised to shut the door. Keeping the hair out of the room for that period kept it from getting stuck in the nearly perfect caulk around the tub and surround. The installer left the bathroom spotless, even wiping up any finger prints he left while showing me how the new faucets worked.
I also chatted with the trainee a bit. He said that he had worked assisting other installers for some time but was preparing to go in for formal training for some time, then going to assist a little more, then begin working on his own.
I worked around the house while the bathroom was installed and tore apart an old entertainment center. The installers even loaded it up and dumped it into their dumpster for me when they left.
