    Big Show Remodeling
Hiring Chris Jaggars and Big Show Remodeling was one of the WORST decisions I have ever made as a business owner. It was a NIGHTMARE to work with Chris Jaggars. Not only was the majority of the work done very poorly but Chris was unprofessional, downright rude and often bullying. The topping on the cake was when I told him after 5 months of delays and excuses renovating a tiny 800 sq ft rental house, that I wanted it to pass the city inspection before I paid his final payment. He then threatened that he would put a lien on my house first thing Monday if I didnt pay him without the inspection done. I refused, and of course it didnt pass inspection! He had to go back and do more repairs before it did pass. He also told me he was hiring licensed electricians to complete a substantial electrical job on the house and then subsequently said they walked off the job and he had to hire more licensed electricians to finish the work. Come to find out that when I asked for proof of payment to the electrical sub contractors (because other workers of his contacted me previously saying he didnt pay them and threatened to put a lien on my house), he told me that they only pulled the permit and did a rough in for the panel but that the entire rest of the job was done by his UNLICENSED hourly workers. That is a huge health, safety and liability issue, not to mention a financial deception. When I called him on it he back tracked and spun another contradictory story. He also threatened to not call for a final inspection for 6 months longer unless I paid him before the city inspection and signed a document stating I wouldn't review his company online, which I clearly did not. On top of it all the work he and his crew did did was sloppy and very poor quality. At his final blue tape walk throughs in two homes the issues I found included trash everywhere, doors that dont close, vinyl plank flooring peeling up in many places with spaces and uneven, closets without handles that dont open or close, broken mirrors, incredibly sloppy painting that looked as though someone with poor vision was doing the job, turning on bathroom faucet and water gushing all over the floor from under the sink, painting over old peeling laminate in drawers instead of removing it and painting properly, not caulking the shower, no covers on light switches and outlets, the list could go on forever. Chris also took it upon himself to put cheap paneling in my home where the contract specified drywall and all without my permission. I had to fight with him to do it correctly and he finally complied after a long battle. He also presented himself as a general contractor but couldnt pull permits because he hadnt taken his test to be a licensed contractor allowed to pull a permit. So, I had to wait for him to study for his test and take it in the middle of the job. In summary my experience with Chris Jaggars and Big Show Remodeling was 1) VERY sloppy, poor quality work 2) Extremely Slow 3) Unreliable and full of excuses why things go poorly 4) Very unprofessional demeanor and communication 5) Not trustworthy and lacks basic business integrity. BEWARE & learn from my mistake!

It went TERRIBLE!  Worst experience I've had with purchases on Angie's List yet!  I researched the deals, and thought I was getting a service...I was content knowing I was going to have a quality home repair done...and then it all fell to pieces!  Again, I'm not sure whether Angie's List is to blame or the provider, but it was an overall pathetic experience!

There were no additional costs to the $700 Big Deal. They were right on-time and did what they said they were going to do. Everything has been great. I like the whole experience with them. It is very nice when you get somebody that comes out on-time and does what they say they are going to do.

    Chux Reconstrux
Although we didn't end up having the work performed at this point (which had nothing to do with Charlie; we had some other things pop up between the estimate and the time we were going to have the work done) when we do go forward with the project Charlie will get the nod.  He was able to get us a quote quickly and a full day ahead of schedule.  He was very professional and competitive in his bid and was flexible from a timing and change standpoint when we needed to make some adjustments in what we wanted done.  I would strongly encourage anyone looking for remodeling or home repair projects to consider using Chux Reconstrux.

    Lamp and Light Electric
The owner, JD Wenger came out to discuss the project and asked a lot of great questions about types of fixtures, light color values and other details. The estimate was free and it was approved, the work was scheduled. The electrician was on time and very knowledgeable and courteous. JD stopped by during the project to make sure ever thing was going well. The job was finished by mid afternoon. The electrician cleaned the area and make sure that I was pleased with everything before leaving.

    Handyman Connection of Johnson County
Wow!  Master Plumber, Robert, was really great!  Showed up early for appointment, fixed what he could on the spot, then made an appointment to come back a few days later to finish up.  He installed and removed old hot water heater.  I was so impressed with Handyman Connection, I scheduled them for a painter and electrician for other issues.

    Lamp and Light Electric
Lamp and Light was professional and easy to work with. The employees we worked with were friendly, hard-working, ethical, thorough, and conscious of cleanliness and doing good work. They seemed very knowledgable, and did a good job of explaining the work that needed to be done, and how things worked. They always had a smile on their face! Overall great experience.

I was called and Scott came by a few hours later.  He was very personable and did a great job.  I have asked for a bid on another small job I have for my deck.  I may have found the person to do my "Honey Do's"!

    Lamp and Light Electric
This was a project completed for a Homes Association. We needed a power source for a pond aeration system.
J.D. Wenger, the president, came out to review the project and provide a bid for the work. The scope of the work required a total of 3.5 days. The crew at Lamp and Light obtained all the necessary permits and worked closely with the local power company. They also worked closely with the association board and updated us at each stage on how the work was progressing.
Lamp and Light also answered a couple of questions from the board and responded quickly and professionally to correct issues.
The entire team was a joy to work with. They are all very professional and extremely competent. We will definitely be using them as our home electrical service provider in the future.

    Ric Ginn Electric
We found him through Angie’s List.  He is very good.  He holds the license of inspector; he does inspection for the city sometimes.  He knows what the codes are and goes by them.  He has an eye for detail; he can look at an electrical hook up, see if there is anything wrong with it, and he knows what to do to correct it.  I guess that is why he is a good inspector.  We would definitely have him back if we need; we do not know anybody better than him.  He is very honest too.  We have not had much electrical work done but I think his prices are fair.  He is usually here when he tells us and is very responsive.  He does excellent work on the home generators too; we do not find many people that can do that.
