    This was the best new car buying experience we have experienced in over 30 years. GM Mike Yaworski was highly professional and very prompt in locating the vehicle that met our requirements. Given this was the end of the 2014 Avalon model year, the available inventory was very limited. Without so much as a credit card deposit, Mike located the vehicle, made arrangements for the car to be brought to his dealership in Washington and updated us on the process within hours of my initial inquiry. Mike also provided a very competitive price. Upon arrival at the dealership, F&I Manager Brian Knight took good care of us and walked us through the paperwork process with low-key professionalism. I would HIGHLY recommend you check out Straatmann Toyota! It was the most enjoyable new car buying experience we have ever experienced.

    I attempted to recharge my A/C on my own with a do it yourself kit, but I ended up overcharging the system and causing it to cool randomly.  I called Sonny's due to their proximity to my home and the reviews written here and Mike the owner said I could bring it in right away.  They began work on my car immediately.  They evacuated the system and filled with the correct amount of refrigerant, tested it, and I was on my way in about an hour and a half.  Mike was very courteous on the phone when I called, and Wayne was very courteous at the shop and listened to my description of what I did to cause the problem. This was my first time having a car worked on at Sonny's and I was very impressed with their availability and professionalism, and will go back in the future.

    The OEM tires on my 2010 Hyundai Sante Fe (Kumho Solus 21) provided a nice, smooth, quiet ride but very little traction in wet or otherwise bad road conditions. I was looking forward to replacing them and did a lot of research to find the best tires at the best price. I did not even consider Firestone tires until I stopped at Ellisville Firestone. I only stopped there because they are the closest tire dealers to my home. The manager asked me what I was looking for in terms of price and performance, listened to my response, recommended Firestone Destination LE2's, and quoted a price for a complete installation package. He also showed me the tires and explained why he was recommending them. He was very professional and knowledgeabIe. I took the written quote that he provided and researched the tires. They are highly rated in terms of value, performance, and overall customer satisfaction. I also found that these tires incorporate a lot of the latest tire manufacturing technology that some other manufacturers (including some very popular and more expensive brands) have not. The specific technologies that I am talking about make them safer, quieter, and provide more traction in bad conditions. I tried to beat his price everywhere that I could think of. My auto dealer, five local tire dealers, and three of the internet tire suppliers. Ellisville Firestone was better or equal in price after factoring in taxes, shipping (for the internet suppliers), and complete installation. We scheduled an installation time and date. The purchase and installation was on time, quick, professional, and at the quoted price. It included a four wheel alignment and TPMS setup. Since the installation in October of 2013, I have driven the front wheel drive only Sante Fe 3,000 miles through some of the worst winter weather that St. Louis has had in decades. Ice and snow in the county and unplowed streets in the city. The tires have been great. A couple of little tire slips where the tires instantly regained traction as soon as I backed off the gas pedal. They are very quiet and seem to be wearing well. Recently, I took the car into my dealer who checked the alignment. Alignment was perfect, so, Ellisville Firestone did a great job there also.
    I am 100 % satisfied with Ellisville Firestone. They were straightforward, focused on my needs, honest, very competitively priced, did good work on my car, and did everything that they said they would do.

    Valvoline Instant Oil Change
    I always pass Valvoline when I drive to work. So the Valvoline at Hwy K is very convenient for me to do a quick oil change. The service is super and the oil change/ maintenance is very fast and reliable. I have done the oil change multiple times at Valvoline and is very satisfied.

    Dobbs Tire & Auto Centers - Ellisville
    First occasion was two months ago. I had run over a nail which was still in my tire. I wanted to get it repaired ASAP, so I stopped in expecting to drop it off for a new tire. The service rep came out and looked at the car. He noticed it was a fairly new tire, and suggested I take it back to the non-Dobbs facility to have a warranty repair performed. He could have easily sold me a new tire, but instead made a recommendation that saved me about $150

    Second occasion was today. I stopped by to ask about a compact spare that came with a used car I recently bought. I saw cracks in the side-wall, and was prepared to purchase a new compact spare. The rep (different from above) looked at the tire, and told me that for the expected use of a spare tire, this would last for a while longer and told me things to look for that will indicate when I need to buy another tire. Again, could have easily sold me a tire, but instead, made a rational recommendation that saves me money.

    To me, this is the hallmark of a business grounded in the idea of customer service, and building customer loyalty. Great job Dobbs! Keep it up!

    Import Specialists
    I recently moved to the West County area from the San Francisco Bay area, and took my 1999 Mercedes ML320 to Tri-Star Imports in Wildwood to make sure that all was well with my car.  The result: a laundry list of repairs, to the tune of nearly $5,000 (for a car worth less than $3,500).  Sick to my stomach (I'm significantly more broke now than when I bought the car), I sought another opinion.  Fate led me to Bob Routzahn, who looked at the car and found that most of the problems the dealer claimed existed were either non-existent (there was no movement in the left lower ball joint, as the dealer claimed) or so minor that they did not merit repairing (slight oil seepage and extremely slight movement in the lower right ball joint).  He even found a replacement driver's side visor (mine was broken) and someone to re-upholster it to match my car.  I feel lucky to have found Bob.  As for Tri-Star, I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.

    Roy���s Auto Repair and Tire
    Everyone at Roy's with whom we interacted were highly professional.  Importantly, both my daughter (the primary driver of this vehicle) and wife were very comfortable with the staff.  They replaced the front brake pads and rotors--the rotors were originals with 112K miles, so it was time for new ones.  Prices were fair, and Roy's did as much paperwork as they could to help us get manufacturers' rebates on the parts.  They also diagnosed a very small vacuum leak that was turning on the check-engine light; they didn't even charge for the very small hose that needed replaced.  My family has four cars between 5 and 10 years old--we'll definitely be back to Roy's.  This was my first use of Angie's List, and I might not have tried Roy's if I hadn't seen the good reviews here.

    Bob's Transmission has been repairing my vehicles for over 20 years. When I lived outside of St. Louis, I still returned to have them do repairs when possible. They are trustworthy and only do the work necessary. Most recently I had my brakes replaced. As always they fit me in immediately and did an excellent job.
