Concrete Repair reviews in Florissant

Only now I had the time to write this review (I have 3 little ones at home). We hired this company a couple years ago to have our patio and sidewalk done. We choose the exposed aggregate. It looks absolutely beautiful and went through 2 winters/ summer (temperature changes) with no cracks so far. I will definitely hire them again.

    G & P Concrete Inc
All done in less than 2.5 days! Started on the day scheduled - no delays. First day tearing out prior driveway and patio - placing dirt, gravel, rebar and forms. Day two concrete poured and installation of French drain along driveway to help with drainage as I am located at bottom of subdivision hill. Day 3 morning - removing forms filling in dirt around the edges of new patio / driveway. Also put area of cyclone fence & gate that had to be moved to access the backyard back in place before they left. Very careful not to damage with their heavy equipment my underground sump pump and underground downspout drainage pipes and pop up discharge. Left no trash or mess behind. Looks beautiful. They provided the requested lien waiver after work was completed.

We are very pleased to give a firm recommendation to G&P Concrete Inc. G&P recently provided for us a new over sized concrete drive and a curved walkway. We were very impressed from the start with our dealing with Shawn Primeau. The communications and cooperation were excellent from the start. Each member of the crew knew exactly what to do. Although they worked well as a team, each one also knew their job, acting individually on occasion. Although we made a few last minute changes, Mr. Primeau readily accepted them and worked them in. In our opinion, this was a well qualified and happy team to work with. We have already received very favorable comments from our neighbors who observed the work as well as the finished product. I couldn't have wished for better.  The whole experience went well, When the bid was done, Scott listened to my questions and concerns and was able to give his thoughts and suggestions.  I felt better understanding that Scott really did know and understand what his company was capable of and knowledge of what needed to be done.  Then working with Angie setting up the appointment went smoothly with no issues.  The day of my appointment came and the team arrived in four different trucks.  Each guy knew just what to do and it was amazing how coordinated they all were.  It was fun to watch.  Corey was informative, clarified the job before starting and then dug right in himself.  They were in and done in just over an hour and my porch, sidewalk and garage floor were not only in better shape, but also CLEANER than when they arrived.  For guys who were covered with mud themselves, it did not show anywhere in or around my house.  I highly recommend them and have done nothing but praise them to my friends and family.

    Hoffman Concrete, LLC
The experience was great. Other than rain, everything went exactly as one would hope. Hoffman kept me apprised of when they would get to my job and what to expect. They arrived when they said they would and got right to work. I was surprised at how many workers were in the crew, but due to the difficulty level of this type of work, I appreciate the work that the whole crew did. They answered all of my questions and cleaned the job site well. I am so pleased to say that in summary, I have all positive things to say. Would I hire Hoffman Concrete again? Yes! My neighbor saw my driveway going in, immediately contacted Hoffman Concrete, and was able to get his driveway replaced at the same time as mine. I think this is a great recommendation in action!

We got a good price from this company to lay a patio and a walkway.  This was done October 29, 2014.  By January 2015 we had 3 cracks running diagonally from where they put the downspout and drain tile under the concrete.  Then another 3 cracks by March 2015.  We called them in January and they came out, but said it was due to the weather.  However, other professionals have been out to look at it and they seem to think that the ground has sunk beneath the concrete where the drain runs.  Now this drain pipe is wacky too, as it did not follow the natural slant of the yard.  It goes across the yard and it was supposed to drain out into the dirt on the other side of the fence (which is actually the neighbor?s yard).  It should have at least been laid under the concrete going with the slant of the yard.  We feel bad about having these cracks so soon after getting our new patio.  We will probably put a sealer on the concrete, which they did not suggest.  And we will probably have to reroute the downspout for the gutters so it does not crack any more concrete.  Another thing is that they were sloppy with the concrete.  It is on the screen door and the siding of the house.  By the way, we called them again to come out and they never kept their appointment.

This is by far the most professional contractor I have ever dealt with .They know what they are doing ,there very good at what they do and most of all they take a lot of pride in what they do and they refused to cut corners. They only use top quality products in doing the job. Another plus is they listen to what you're asking for and they do the very best to supply you with what you want and they will go beyond what you're expecting. I just can not say enough about the professionalism of Tom and his crew. Bottom line. I highly recommend this company and I will use them in the future.

It turned out great and they were excellent. They were very dependable and did what they said that they would. They cleaned up afterwards and we had no problem with them. The price was a little high and he came when he said he would. I would use them again.

The driveway looks solid, like it would last 50 years.

However, I am VERY UNSATISFIED with the quality of the drainage pipe handling and clean up.
The crew left a bunch of garbage in my garage that I had to clean up.

Two black, flexible hoses come off of two downspouts and meet in a T, and drain out down the hill next to the driveway.  The crew LEFT THE HOSE STICKING ABOVE THE DRIVEWAY for a couple of feet.  It is very unsightly, and the pipe could easily be destroyed by someone straying off the driveway.  My neighbors started complaining that I needed to get it fixed.
I called CC to come out and take care of it, and I was told that they "didn't have any dirt left."  Presumably, the didn't think to take any from where they DUMPED a bunch of it next to parking spot they formed.  They came back out, and sprinkled some yellow dirt (looks like sand almost) on top of the pipe, but it all washed away with the first rain.

Thinking I needed to get it done right (my neighbors complained to me again), I called some landscaping folks to come take care of it.  They wanted $345!!!  I called back CC and told them this, and he said, "Oh, we can beat THAT price!"  So he wants MORE money to fix the awful job he did in the first place.

CC did a lot of bragging before the work about how good the quality would be of the driveway, how he would use the best materials and it would be solid.  I guess I can't argue with that.  The driveway does indeed look pretty solid and it is pretty attractive (if you can ignore the horrid pipe h-u-m-p-e-d [Angie's List censored that word... I meant "curved up from the ground"] up from the ground like the back of the Loch Ness Monster).
CC collected the second half of the cash from me before the job was finished, because (I am guessing) they had to hurry to the next job before the rains came.  Giving it to him BEFORE THE WORK WAS COMPLETE was probably a pretty stupid mistake on my part, and those of you with experience hiring contractors are probably shaking your heads and laughing at me in a fit of Schadenfreude, thinking, "Well, that's what you get, STUPID!!!  You NEVER pay until ALL the work is complete!"  I suppose you would be right.  But that doesn't excuse the poor customer service that I received from this outfit.  Quality customer service is about FINISHING THE JOB, CLEANING UP AFTER YOURSELF, and NOT ASKING FOR EXTRA MONEY to fix what YOU screwed up!  Taking advantage of some DOOFUS (me) who is willing to fork over money before the job is done, so you can scurry off to your next job, is NOT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE.
It's a shame to ruin a nice, solid driveway with such an insouciant attitude towards clean-up and customer service.  And IF you should post a response saying that you are willing to come make it right, don't bother.  You lost my trust.  I would not allow you to screw in a light bulb, let alone FIX the mess you left behind.

UPDATE:  After my initial review, Mr. Cochran had people come by and fix the drainage pipe.

    Michaels Concrete Co
I couldn't be happier with the whole situation. He showed up to bid on the job when he said he would. We agreed to a very fair price. His crew was there in two days as promised. The concrete work was exactly as we planned. Before they left they put in new dirt and cleaned up the whole area. I will definitely call Michael's Concrete again for any concrete work I may have.
